  • im not gay but i would kiss ben twice.

  • Ben Vereen is the human incarnation of smiling.

  • @EmiRose05

Haha what a perfect definition, should be in the dictionary :L

  • what the hell! thats not how the song goes! i want the old versoin!

  • @HollywoodLego - Sung by what artist?

  • A-MA-ZING Vereen!

  • "1981 DVD" yeah, right

  • Ben Vereen is amazing

  • He is SO ENERGETIC! He is a real performer. And those are some WICKED tight pants......

  • Our high school put on this production when I was a senior. It was SO fun!! My brother played Pippin. We had one of my friends, a girl, play Ben's part. Of course, we had to clean it up a lot.

  • Our school's "Ben Vereen" is played by a girl. *sigh*

  • @budwayz i think that would be cool. only bc im a girl and i would love to play that part lol.

  • I'm doing the guitar for this for my school's production soon. Luckily, they let me wear pants since I'm in the orchestra pit.

  • luv ben vereen he is so good

pippen=one of the best plays ever

  • Im doing this song for an audition today at 12 English time, wish me luck

  • @xaxie1 did you ever get the role?

  • Ben Vereein is amazing!! What a voice!!!

  • its hard to believe this was recorded in 1971

  • you mean 1981

  • no i mean 1973

  • This is from 1981, not 1973

  • @xaxie1 you're kinda right, the show priemered with Ben Vereen as the lead in 1973, however, this particular recording is from 1981, Ben Vereen is re-playing the role that he originated and won him a Tony. :)

  • absolutly brillient song

  • BEN VEREEN IS INCREDIBLE.

    ... I love the no-pants guitarist. XD

  • @insanityblob I got to play that part many years and pounds ago....

  • considering how long this play is. and how much he's running around and is the main person. it's expected that he makes a slip up now and again. he is a human after all

  • they have a diffrent script it was rewritten. because war is a science is completely different. so... Nehh ;]

  • Thats because Fosse change the original production a great deal. Composer Stephen Schwartz was angry and all subsequent productions reverted to what he orifinally intended.

  • i love pirate in a thong guy.

  • Not gonna lie, this is probably my favorite song in the whole musical. We just put this one on for our spring musical. It was, to say the least, outstanding. Our leading player stole the show, as intended. Ben Vereen is a legend of the stage.

  • I love Ben Vereen.

  • pippin mush

  • one word: Amazing.

  • Man, we need to preserve all of the performances of Ben Vereen that we can. The guy did it all. He does it all.

  • Much props to Ben Vereen in this play! The Leading Player role is a tough act that few people can pull off, and he does it! The Finale scene is his best performance in the play. I would do this play.

  • hahahaha has anyone noticed that the guitar players has no pants on....just like a thong and boots!

    lol

  • and he happens to be the best part of this video. i love ittt!!!. i wish we didnt have to wear pants! XD

  • BEn Vereen did the part of the narrator better than anyone!! Love him in this role

  • He did not breathe before "ramble?" HELLO???????

  • I don't get it. Is that suppose to be bad? He sounds fine after singing the lyric before it.

  • The line is "river's belong where they can ramble". It's one thought...he took a breath before he completed the phrase...and this guy had a career!!!

  • oh, I get it now!

  • It's like, if your were actually saying (not singing) "Rivers belong where they can ramble" you wouldn't take a random breath unless you were out of breath or dying.

Surprising I missed that, since I take voice lessons!

  • eh as a vocal major i think it was an artistic breath, a slight pause to show his thinking mind. his voice would've been weaker if he had really run out of breath most vocalists of that caliber can go on for miles without it showing.

  • You never know. He could have been out of breath or something. It must take a lot of energy to perform such a demanding role. Or maybe he just added it in as a character choice. Or maybe he just messed up. It happens. Please don't judge a man's career off of one misplaced breath.

  • ben vereen is amazing, as usual

but pippin has too much tension in his head. that drives me crazy.

  • wow i hope i have that much energy when i get that age

  • I LOVE PIPPIN SO MUCH

  • i love this song.

  • this is good made its awsome

    i love acting !!

  • I want to choreograph this show again!

  • It is. It starts at 0:30 :)

  • aha well done

  • i dont know why .........

but this song is one of my favorite in this play.. and also on the right track
