Ive had this for a month now, i really like it for the battery power and the fact that it doesnt get heavy after long term use. Got MAME and epsxe emulators working ok, tried to run pcsx2 on it just to see how it will run and it crashed with some windows error message coming on after the loadup screen, obviously not a gaming machine. wifi is weak in certain places, need to move in certain spots for fast download speeds which can be annoying, get better download speeds on my acer aspire one.
@r31ncarnat3d nope it comes with 64bit, and I cal always add ram later. so I didnt want to pay more money for ram that I can get at the sore for cheaper. and the graphics are switchable so I only use them when i need to.
@lolitadoll646 So you paid more for integrated graphics you don't need? At the same time, you went for one of the most unreliable companies? I really don't see how this is a better purchase.
@lolitadoll646 Yeaup you are... just saw your laptop, and, honestly? You think that's a better laptop? A Core 2 Duo will beat an AMD Turion any day. Moreso, why would you need a dedicated graphics card? Unless you're planning to game, you're just adding on extra cost and battery drain. And by looking at your 2GB of RAM, you got the 32-bit operating system, didn't you?
@AndreaFranchitti ok I just looked into it a bit more and it is in fact a core 2 duo cpu NOT a pentium cpu like they advertised in this video. VERY misleading information!
wtf man? you forgot to mention the 12 battery life. that's one of the main highlights of this product. you mentioned one good thing and about 10 bad things about this product and you say it's over "a great choice"?
obviously you guys didn't put enough effort into making your reviews
I'm a UL30a owner, and i've had no problem with wifi connections, but i do understand the drag part about the touchpad. Overall though, i really love this computer!
The wifi is fine, I have 802.11 N. The keyboard is really nice. If you have an apple store nearby or a best buy, go type on an apple keyboard in the store, the feel is identical. The cold feature is a bit off around this time of year, but I feel during summer using this laptop will be nice considering it chills your palms while resting them below the keyboard.

???? IT's definitely not a Pentium. It's a Core 2 Duo.

Wth, you tried to run Bioshock on that little laptop? OF COURSE IT ISNT GOING TO WORK. It's designed for the student or worker, not a gamer.

@lolitadoll646 Let me guess... you're one of the brainless twits who follows advertising over specs and reviews?

atom is a 1.6ghz and this only has a 1.3ghz prossesor?
so this is slower then my eee900?
ActiveSkater13 2 years ago
Frequency means nothing. -.-
It's a whole different architecture.
DerekFord95 2 years ago
but still is my eee900 faster?
ActiveSkater13 2 years ago
No. This is much faster.
DerekFord95 2 years ago
Unlike your EEE, this has a dual core, not a single core with hyperthreading. Much higher FSB and L2 Cache
kaidotech 2 years ago
it's a dual core processor, atom is single core. compared to an Atom N270 1,6 ghz processor this is about three times faster.
ascendtofall 2 years ago
the ul30 comes with a 1.3 intel core 2 duo, dont even compare both of them.
