At the height of the Ottoman Empire Anatolia and Greece were both multicultural and that was their strenght and richness. It goes also for pretty much any succesful empire in the history of mankind. See Roman Empire, over thousand years of multicultural prosperity Latin/Greek/etc. As long as people work together and are tolerant they succeed. When they become intolerant of diversity they fail.
Nationalism fucks up people and destroys the culture.
Although Macedonia was a distinct people, they had much to share in common with the ancestry of Greece. They were neighbors and they were also kinsmen. Greece does not own Macedonia today, nor does Macedonia own Greece. The conflict has dated way back to ancient times, and why must it continue?? I wish them both much peace in the future, a future that may hopefully proceed in brotherhood.
Yukcellabe, I agree with you, and those are very good words... I think its not only good thing that people are better in peace nowadays (for diplomacy is nowadays better way to solve problems) but also because we can learn from each other, for example when we go to see my family in Bulgaria, we have learn from you Turks baklava and sarma for example, I think we can learn from each other, I like very much baklava and also tzatziki as well...
@jovoification Not so. Greece will one day reclaim its glory. Ever since ancient times, it was one of the greatest and so one day it will be glorious again. Please don't hate.
@jovoification There is nothing to despise about Greece. There was war between England and North America in the 17th-18th century. Now it is the 21st and the UK and US are in a neighborly relation once again. Let it be said that whatever the grudge is between Macedonia and Greece. Forget the past. Live in the present. Hate is the poison to kill the vision of grace in anything. I am not trying to change your way of thought. I only ask to speak my voice. Peace be with you.
@jovoification I never said it was. But I only claim that there is hope it will at least rise and improve in the future. Macedonia is still part of Greece. You would be against your own ancestry. That is the truth.
@jovoification But none of this happens anymore... but I understand more now of your history. It is as if the US never got to break free from Britain. It would no longer consider itself British even then. Thank God we are free. But I hope that Macedonia will be able to maintain its identity while still respecting Greece.
@jovoification (nods solemnly) I know, I just hope they will one day be able to tolerate and understand each other. I would then be content. Just if they were neutral. And then again, if they were allies, that would be an even greater thing. But one should be content just if they let each other think in peace. P.S. I am glad you think that should happen. I really am.
@jovoification Actually, I'm Chinese American studying science, history, and philosophy. I just emerge myself into the learning of other cultures because I find that there is something unique and powerful about each one. And I think the same of both Macedonia AND Greece. By ancestry I am not Greek. By heart, I am Chinese, American, Greek, Macedonian, Japanese, and all the other countries of the world. By heart, I am of respect for all races and cultures.
@jovoification I never said it was. But I only claim that there is hope it will at least rise and improve in the future. Macedonia is still part of Greece. You would be against your own ancestry. That is the truth.

@MrNacko28 dont forget, bulgarians and greeks share a similar byzantine history, where our music's comonality stems from. kalamatiano started there, "agie mou giorgi" was the oldest one i could find. ive also heard some bulgarian songs with greek in them
All of you turkish haters that get on this to say bad stuff, QUIT! WE ARE GREEKS YOU CANNOT RUIN OR DIGNITY:DD So yeah, you turks are jealous of us and our culture... You just can't resist us if you are on here commenting. If you hate us sooo much, yhen stay off Greek songs:pp Duhhh. WE THE GREEKS, WE GOT THE POWER:) LOL.
@cius160 The real name of the first song is actually Siko Horepse Koukli Mou and sometimes called Nina Nai Nai and for the turkish version it's Kalenin Bedenleri
@edurmaz100 The last song is "Zorba's Dance" which is from the movie "Zorba the Greek." I've never heard it called anything else but if I'm wrong will someone please correct me? Was composed by the great Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis. I'm sorry but I hate this song because even though "Zorba the Greek" was a good movie, the song is so much of a stereotype it drives me crazy.
@christos135 The songs in order are 1)To Diko Mou Paploma 2)Siko Xorepse Koukli Mou (Tsifteteli Tourkiko) 3)Oso Axizis Esi 4)Na Sagapo Inta Thela Remix 5)Kindinos Thanatos 6)Xorepsete Xorepsete 7)Zorba's Dance (I hate this last song, it' the stereotypical Greek song).
I know I'm American....but I'd just like to say, I'm one of the few here who still appreciates culture and the beauty of it all. I'm part Native American, so that might have something to do with it :D. Greetings from America, and the greatest respects to Greece!
@soniczdawun1 And the greatest respect to you as well! I have always been fascinated by Native American tribal culture, but just don't know enough. What a noble and honorable heritage! Do you think that with each passing generation the youth don't care or don't know of their history and culture? This is what I fear is happening with the Greek heritage here in the US. Of course, many Americans don't even know American history!
Yasou! I come from a blessed and spiritual Greek family and from learning about my heritage and learning to speak my language at a very young age well just OPA Ο Θεός να σας ευλογεί!
I was raped of my Greek heritage :-( Born and raised in Canada from greek parents and i know nothing of Greece or it's people, all my family lives there aswell...this music makes me cry in a good way.
@000Winter000 It's never too late to learn your heritage. The fact that it calls to you is proof enough! There are ways to learn even if you don't have a chance to go to Greece yet (Greeks living in other countries like US, Canada & Australia may all do things a little differently--this doesn't make them any less Greek than native Greeks). Nationality & ethnic heritage are 2 different things: be proud of your roots! You'll find many people here willing to discuss this with you. Yia Sou!
@timmey883 At 0:51 you are referring to Τσιφτετελι Τουρκικο (Tsifteteli Tourkiko)....this is very old song and has been around before my grandparents' time...
@timmey883 There are many, many versions of Τσιφτετελι Τουρκικο (Tsifteteli Tourkiko), Greek and Turkish, and very many different singers have sung it....is a traditional song....
@timmey883 You're welcome! The first song is Το Δικό Μου Πάπλωμα (To Diko Mou Paploma) and the one at 2:10 is Οσο Αξιζεις Εσυ (Oso Aksizis Esei in phonetics). Hope that helps!
@timmey883 Oh, and let me add that sometimes the song at 0:51 you had already asked about may be called Σηκω Χορεψε Κουκλι Μου (Siko Horepse koukli Mou ).but I have always heard it referred to as Tsifteteli Tourkiko (or the Nina Nai song). If you typed either one into a search engine you'd probably get to the same song.
@hppaps At 5:50 starts the song Horepsete (or Xορέψετε in Greek)...then of course it ends with that damn song from Zorba the Greek...I'm so very tired of this song as it's been way overplayed and is such a stereotype...
@EinsteinxtremeRoblox Yes, I agree. What I see is that there is still hateful nationalism between our people but more & more people see that it's the individual that matters not the race s there is good & bad in all. I have some very nice Turkish contacts who have been nicer to me than some Greeks. Yes we have had an atrocious history, but I choose to honor my ancestors' sacrifice & suffering with respect which is a more fitting tribute. This is pretty much my mantra these days!
@Ellatha1 P.S. There's someone insulting my dad's culture and he is calling us backwards people that Israel will blow up...Erm, not to be a bother, but do you think I should just ignore him? I blocked him but he still managed to send me a message just a few hours ago...
@65sikerim You just keep on proving my point, bruh. It's a waste of breath trying to be nice to you, but at least I tried. Do you actually kiss your mother on the cheek with that mouth? Ax, now I know why you're so irritable: eisai malaka kai exeis ena polu mikro poutsos. Bye bye!
@65sikerim What in the hell??!! Were these just all the English cuss words you knew? Dude, get a clue. Enough with the hate...take it somewhere else while you learn some more English grammar so you can make sense in your idiocy.
@65sikerim Ah, I must commend you on the simple but profane comment you left on my channel like a well-formed kommati skaton. Much more understandable. As a matter of fact I think I'll leave it there for a while as a tribute to your stunning intellect since you weren't courageous enough to post it in public. You're young & don't realize it's better to disagree with basic respect than to just throw insults at Greeks. I admit I was the same way with Turks not so long ago.
@65sikerim But I've seen the world is too small to claim superiority over another race or culture since we've all interacted over the centuries & no culture is %100 pure. Not all Greeks & Turks hate each other even though we both know our histories. Whether we want to admit it or not Greek & Turkish language, dances, music, food etc. have a lot in common with each other no matter who did it first. My mother's family lived in a Greek village in Turkey so I know the Turks are part of my heritage.
@65sikerim Many Greeks wouldn't admit that, but I dare any of them or you to prove that we're %100 Greek or Turk. But I am Greek as it's my homeland & heritage. The past is done & can't be changed. There are more important things to worry about. I admit my 1st words to you were harsh because of the nonsense cursing; post in your own language if you want so at least you'll make sense, but hate is pointless. And maybe it's time to start thinking with your kefali instead of your poutsos. Yia sou!

I know I'm American....but I'd just like to say, I'm one of the few here who still appreciates culture and the beauty of it all. I'm part Native American, so that might have something to do with it :D. Greetings from America, and the greatest respects to Greece!
soniczdawun1 6 months ago 2
@soniczdawun1 And the greatest respect to you as well! I have always been fascinated by Native American tribal culture, but just don't know enough. What a noble and honorable heritage! Do you think that with each passing generation the youth don't care or don't know of their history and culture? This is what I fear is happening with the Greek heritage here in the US. Of course, many Americans don't even know American history!

I was raped of my Greek heritage :-( Born and raised in Canada from greek parents and i know nothing of Greece or it's people, all my family lives there aswell...this music makes me cry in a good way.
000Winter000 6 months ago
@000Winter000 You should come and live in Greece it's beautiful,it is time to discover the mighty glory of your hellenic heritage ;)
Ultrass123 6 months ago
@000Winter000 It's never too late to learn your heritage. The fact that it calls to you is proof enough! There are ways to learn even if you don't have a chance to go to Greece yet (Greeks living in other countries like US, Canada & Australia may all do things a little differently--this doesn't make them any less Greek than native Greeks). Nationality & ethnic heritage are 2 different things: be proud of your roots! You'll find many people here willing to discuss this with you. Yia Sou!

@000Winter000 aww! you should go to Greece!! you would really learn the culture and you would know how to speak greek and everything :)

Ellatha1 6 months ago
@Ellatha1 Thank u very much^^ This song is really great!
Could you tell me which songs are the 1st and the one @2:10!? :)
timmey883 6 months ago

@FatihMnv I support peaceful people! May Turkey and Greece see peaceful days ahead. You are an excellent role model for the children of Ataturk!
EinsteinxtremeRoblox 5 months ago 3
@EinsteinxtremeRoblox Yes, I agree. What I see is that there is still hateful nationalism between our people but more & more people see that it's the individual that matters not the race s there is good & bad in all. I have some very nice Turkish contacts who have been nicer to me than some Greeks. Yes we have had an atrocious history, but I choose to honor my ancestors' sacrifice & suffering with respect which is a more fitting tribute. This is pretty much my mantra these days!
Ellatha1 5 months ago
@Ellatha1 If only every Greek and Turk thought like you.

Bye bye!

@65sikerim you can't fuck without a dick @shole, just acept it just accept the Greek dick that is inside your shitty ass.D :PpP
josephabzooz 6 months ago
@65sikerim Ah, I must commend you on the simple but profane comment you left on my channel like a well-formed kommati skaton. Much more understandable. As a matter of fact I think I'll leave it there for a while as a tribute to your stunning intellect since you weren't courageous enough to post it in public. You're young & don't realize it's better to disagree with basic respect than to just throw insults at Greeks. I admit I was the same way with Turks not so long ago.
Ellatha1 6 months ago
@65sikerim But I've seen the world is too small to claim superiority over another race or culture since we've all interacted over the centuries & no culture is %100 pure. Not all Greeks & Turks hate each other even though we both know our histories. Whether we want to admit it or not Greek & Turkish language, dances, music, food etc. have a lot in common with each other no matter who did it first. My mother's family lived in a Greek village in Turkey so I know the Turks are part of my heritage.
Ellatha1 6 months ago
@65sikerim Many Greeks wouldn't admit that, but I dare any of them or you to prove that we're %100 Greek or Turk. But I am Greek as it's my homeland & heritage. The past is done & can't be changed. There are more important things to worry about. I admit my 1st words to you were harsh because of the nonsense cursing; post in your own language if you want so at least you'll make sense, but hate is pointless. And maybe it's time to start thinking with your kefali instead of your poutsos. Yia sou!
