Thats what will happen when your cycling in the MIDDLE of the road wobbling about, yes his driving was incompetent, he should have seen you but going of this vid, your cycling don't look too clever either!
a) Camera fixed to handle bars makes video apper to wobble due to focal length of lense
b) on what authority can you question my road positioning - i'm not in the middle of the road, but towards the center of the outer lene - there is a difference - out of interest where would you position yourself as a cyclist on that road? Please see response two for explination of where cyclists should position them selves in narrow lanes
On wide lanes one should cycle no less than 0.5m from the kerb AND allow 1m of space to the left of traffic flow. If this secondary position is not possible because the lane is too narrow (as is it is here) then the primary position should be adopted – which is cycling towards the centre of the lane to aid visibility and discourage close overtaking.

@dude8428 Thanks for sharing your thoughts dude, I’ll take your comments “on board” as they say, but I already have a couple of cars! Anyway xx & ttfn
can't stand those slow moving, lane hogging, 2 wheeled road users.
You are driving along happily when suddenly a cyclist turns into the road ahead of you without looking or ignoring the fact that you are cruising along happily just above the speed limit. You brake madly to stop yourself hitting the prat and then you're stuck for ages as he then sits in the middle of the road, trundling along at 10 mph in a 40mph zone. this persons opinion is amusing and very true!
That's because it is a PUBLIC road, you moron! The rule is, first come first serve. If traffic is so disruptive to your schedule, you ought to leave a mite earlier, eh?
Correct, cyclists do NOT pay any road taxes. But then, neither does anyone else in the UK.
So what is your point? Should we allocate road space by what one pays in taxes? The wealthy among us should always have right of way? What sort of system would that be?
You really ought to avoid posting in public forums. It's not very flattering to your image. You reason like a child, and now it's plain for everyone to see.

i pay my road tax...not because im wealthy but because its a legal requirement to have my car on the road...its nothing to do with rich and poor dumbass
my beef is with ignorant people not having a care in the world that they are holding up fuck loads of people and dont even make an effort to move over
Ddallass is correct you dont pay road tax, you pay an excise duty linked to the emissions of your vehicle and this form of tax, along with every other tax I can think of, with the exception of the TV licence, is not hypothecated.
Its a legal requirement for me to pay tax when I buy a beer, but it doesnt get used to pay for pubs.
Narrow laned dual carriageway, cyclist positioned 1m to 1.5m from the kerb (not in the middle of the road). Thats where a cyclist should be. If you find that frustrating and/or lack the skills to safely negotiate your way past a cyclist then you really shouldnt be driving.
Do me a favour, show the clip to a police officer, driving instructor, member of the CTC or ABD or any other professional organisation to do with driving or cycling, they will all tell you the cyclist is correctly positioned for the road position and that in doing so it probably saved his life.
Thanks for that inspired comment frankie I must say, I feel honoured that you took time off from your busy schedule of happy slapping, McDonalds and masturbation just to share your wisdom with the rest of us
wow crazy assumptions of me...im afraid firstly...happy slappings not my thing...two...mcdonalds is nasty...and three...i dont masturbate...i have a long term girlfriend :D sorry to dissapoint
Terribly dangerous overtaking manoeuvre with the driver probably blissfully unaware he's done anything wrong. Let's hope he or someone who knows him googles his number plate so he can see himself as others see him.
I can never understand why some people give you inches when there's a whole empty 2nd lane that they can use to get by in. Or why they give you an inch and then once they're by they give parked cars a wider berth than they gave you seconds before.

Also how is the cyclist holding up the traffic and where do you think they should "move over" too?

Frankie do you find the standard of driving in this clip acceptable?

no but neither do i find acceptable the fact the cyclist is in the middle of the damn road! frustration does cause mis judgement!

goomason 3 years ago
Its simple, they think you are not supposed to be on the road, hence why they give you very little room(teaching us a lesson)
Dershnof 3 years ago 2
I think the driver was an idiot overtaking that close. Stupid and unnecessary.
