If "janitor" got you bent, try "Maintenance engineer." I worked as a janitor from 4th to 6th grade. I did not clean toilets. Enough mess in classrooms. Working PT in school is a good thing. Typically, kids of all groups have lots of free time after school. More time on TV, video games, smartphones, texting, hanging out, than studying.
While in school, students take too many electives that do not prepare them for the world of work or even self-sufficiency. Is this education or indoctrination?

This really disgusts me. As a kid my parents were constantly working and I never finished high school but if it wasn't for the Clinton years, as a 15yr old kid, I would probably never have owned my own software company and now very, very blessed with a ridiculous sized home (7K SqFt) with a theater. I didn't clean toilets, I made software in the late 90'son my COMPUTER that took my parents a long time to get. Needless to say, they don't have to work again.
Kind of shows how out of touch TYT is with the real world. I'm white, I'm underpaid, and under employed. The point is that I still work. Kids need to learn life is tough. Not everyone gets a dream job with a dream pay. The earlier in life you learn that, the better off you will be. Not only that, but work ethic and work habits are developed very early in life. It has nothing to do with the actual job you have. Learning how to do well at small things teaches you to do well with greater things.

Blacks are a minority in all of those states that you mention. And in cities like Philly, Cleveland, Chicago, Newark, NY, etc. you will notice that White Liberals tend to not live into Black neighborhoods. Or when enough Blacks move in, they move out.

PA is not diverse. Most of the state is White. Areas around Lancaster and Philly are very segregated. Same thing with Milwaukee, WI. Where I live in MD, White flight is taking place, especially among Whites with kids in public schools.
In some instances, some people may not have the money to move. In many Liberal states the gov. pushes people on each other in order to gain votes, which usually does not succeed in the long-term. (School busing ring a bell?)
Not to mention Detroit, MI, where White flight took place long ago. Black flight occurs as well. Look at certain neighborhoods in Los Angeles that are now majority Latino.
Most people simply feel more safe and comfortable living around mostly others like them. Nothing wrong with that.

When I was 17, going to a Christian high school in Canada, I took the summer off, and worked for a farmer, under a program, encouraging young people to work on farms, where the Ministry of Agriculture would match, dollar for dollar what the farmer paid me. It was good for me, and good for the farmer. I would not trade that experience for anything. Work is GOOD for young people.
I began working when I was 12 years old, going door to door selling flower seeds, and helping my brother deliver newspapers. It was good for me. I also helped my brother cut grass, and when he went off to college, took over some of his jobs when I was 14. When I was 16, I got my first real job working at a Book and Record Store, as a janitor Cenk Uygur, you, Ron Williams, and others that think kids SHOULDN'T work, make want to puke. If you look at the whole thing , Newt was referring to the point that someone that sweeps and mops at a school (a very simple job even for someone inexperienced as teenagers) makes in some cases more then the teacher. Some school janitors in like New York make over $100000 a year . That one job could provide 20 kids jobs making real money . If "janitor" got you bent, try "Maintenance engineer." I worked as a janitor from 4th to 6th grade. I did not clean toilets. Enough mess in classrooms. Working PT in school is a good thing. Typically, kids of all groups have lots of free time after school. More time on TV, video games, smartphones, texting, hanging out, than studying.
While in school, students take too many electives that do not prepare them for the world of work or even self-sufficiency. Is this education or indoctrination?

As a kid my parents were constantly working and I never finished high school but if it wasn't for the Clinton years, as a 15yr old kid, I would probably never have owned my own software company and now very, very blessed with a ridiculous sized home (7K SqFt) with a theater. I didn't clean toilets, I made software in the late 90'son my COMPUTER that took my parents a long time to get. Needless to say, they don't have to work again.

Not everyone gets a dream job with a dream pay. The earlier in life you learn that, the better off you will be. Not only that, but work ethic and work habits are developed very early in life. When I was 17, going to a Christian high school in Canada, I took the summer off, and worked for a farmer, under a program, encouraging young people to work on farms, where the Ministry of Agriculture would match, dollar for dollar what the farmer paid me. It was good for me, and good for the farmer. I would not trade that experience for anything. Work is GOOD for young people.

I also helped my brother cut grass, and when he went off to college, took over some of his jobs when I was 14. If you look at the whole thing , Newt was referring to the point that someone that sweeps and mops at a school (a very simple job even for someone inexperienced as teenagers) makes in some cases more then the teacher. Some school janitors in like New York make over $100000 a year . That one job could provide 20 kids jobs making real money . A job that hopefully they'll hate and give them some aspiration for something better. They need to want to be off the system. Too many families on welfare make it a generational thing. You know, I was a janitor, or I guess you would said, Janitress, for a while. I've cleaned a bank, a large business, and private houses. There is no shame in cleaning toilets. Someone has to do it, and you probably hope the next toilet you sit on is clean. Work is work, start where you can and build yourself up.
