The F-15 is still a sexy plane though her time is past. The most beautiful jet fighter design so far lookswise, in my opinion though her avionics are way old (no fly-by-wire, and dials). A true beauty!

It's all about the computers now days. The music is very fitting. "Let the bodies hit the flo"? That puts fear into the enemy while watching this video.
Well the closest to any reason is JetMechMA. The F-22 is not cancelled. His statement is accurate in saying that it is restricted to the number in service, on order, or being built. However, speaking off the record, I don't see the F-15 out of service for quite some time. Is is very effective, economical, and CAPABLE! Also off the record, you will see something similar to the F-22 but modified and stripped for cost so to speak.
Perhaps the most wonderfull plane ever flown and you totally disgrace it with cover music. NEVER, EVER,EVER,EVER,EVER play any music over any aircraft video. I mean you might as wel listen to a cd of music and imagine the plane part. Please spread the word!
The air national guard has most of the F-15c's (including my old jet) so if we needed them we would have them to blow away anybody dumb enough to invade our airspace
Too bad they couldn't keep the turkey feathers on the engine exhaust like on the F-16s. Looks much better. That's the only thing that mars the beautiful looks of the otherwise magnificent F-15 Eagle.

They've had these aircraft turning 9Gs for the last 30 years or more, I mean, does vectored thrust bring on 9gs too suddenly on the pilot? Are these vectored thrust flight demos for show only....with some sort of olympic athlete at the controls? I don't know. I am asking. I don't see how they can go much further tthan what they've been doing for the last 30-35 years. Want a clue? Check out the 30 year old video "F-16 Flight Demo" It is the original Paris Air show in-cockpit HUD, with sound.
I disagree with Jumpshot. There is no such thing as "too capable". .. unless you meant to say that the F-22 is so capable that it has become too expensive. After all, the Nazis had the most capable equipment in WW2, but we overwhelmed them with sheer numbers. I'd rather overwhelm the enemy with sheer numbers of off-boresight F-15's retro'd with netcentric capabilities, if that meant being able to cover all bases....rather than have the enemy overwhelm the small fleet of F-22s in the same manner.
There are certian models they have retired such as the F-15 A model. The f-15c, d and E are still in service and is the most sucessful fighter of all time. Now that the F-22 has been cancelled it will remain in service for some time.
From what I just read online at a glance, the F-22 is NOT cancelled but restricted to the 187 already on order or in the pipeline. The cost overruns of the original F-15's and F-16's almost got them cancelled too in their day, but GD has been superb at keeping their programs alive. They didn't splash the F-22 yet. As far as F-15 v F-22? Apples and oranges. F-22 is latest and greatest...and that's just the way it is. Time marches on. I love the F-15. It will always be my all time favorite.
No, they were grounded for a time so they could be inspected, but to my knowledge inspections are done and they're all flying again.
F-22A has not been cancelled as was said, the USAF just isn't getting as many as they want/need. There is no comparison F-15 vs F-22A, the F-15 is quite capable of comming out on top against our current "enemies", the main argument against the F-22A is that it's TOO capable, and thus overkill.
F-22A would beat an F-15 any day, but both are still effective.
