who cares what this souless generation has to say about the 80s, it was the best decade in human history, PERIOD. At least we didnt shot up our fellow class mates or become unholy warriors in a phony religion.
I was 12 when this aired in 87, man, did we have it so much better back then. . .even though my folks tell me now that we truly didn't, I still FELT like we did, and that's what counts.
to this day i can't drink 7up or Sprite cuz when i was a kid every time i was sick with a stomach virus, all my mom gave me to eat was dry toast and 7up...bleech!!!
@SnowbirdFlock yea i know i was a kid of the 90s but my parents had 80s tapes w/ 80s christmas specials on them and some of these comemrcials would show up. 80s and 90s christmas comemrcials were way better and way more sincere than the stupid meaningless commercials of today. i dont understand y they almost make christmas feel less special.
@DreamWarrior87 Most modern Christmas & Valentine's Day ads are just "Show her how much you care; buy her a diamond necklace from us for only $64487.99 + tax!"
@SnowbirdFlock Haha that's true, while it seems that we have to buy material things, and they don't have to do much for us...everything is for a reason these days, just not the good ones. The 80s were a better decade, and not only for music and movies.
I used to pass by a building in The Bronx with that slogan. I forgot if it was a 7-Up bottling or distribution center or if it was just a billboard on the building.
i remember seeing this seven up commercial a long time ago i really wish all the old christmas commercials came back on TV cause those were the real good times
Goodness, we have this commerical on a few VHS tapes that have some christmas programs that my family recorded 20 years ago and that you can't buy! I love it!
@Dreadpiraterobbers i'm 20 and we had a bunch of these on vhs after we taped disneys christmas carol, this was one of them. i wasn't born yet but still got to enjoy them as a kid. good memories
@Dreadpiraterobbers Some of my best memories were watching these old commercials with my mom,sadly she's no longer with me but it's nice to be able to come on here and relive the great times in my life..
For fuck's sake stop being an asshole.You're insulting the globe.Maybe we should get Kirby to kill you.Better see if I can repair that nuke from his kirby 64 commercial...
old school 7-up..especially when it was served in the nostalgic green bottles...was superior to todays product. It sucks how companies continue to make shit worse...aside from better.
I remember those old green glass bottles. My aunt who has always been a 7-Up fan (it's pretty much most of what she drank until recently) used to give me & my brother 7-Up in those old 8 oz glass bottles. All sodas taste better out of glass bottles. Cans are 2nd after glass & plastic bottles suck. I heard they're going to totally reformulate 7-Up to compete against Coke & Pepsi sometime soon (maybe 2011). That could mean they're going to turn the un-cola into a cola. A bad idea.
I almost forgot that the cans looked like that back then until I saw this commercial again. Which I do remember this commercial as well as the cans. I was 8 so that's more than old enough to remember stuff.
I still have this on tape somewhere.

@partyxday
Wrong. 7-Up has a different flavor than Sprite. It's like Coke and Pepsi, two products, with the same "cola" flavor, but they taste different.
7-Up today especially tastes different because they changed the formula a few years ago.
