  • They never showed this in England. We missed out. Caught it in the West Indies. Great eerie fun !!

  • Well... I never thought much of Frid as an actor. He seemed to be muffing lines all the time on th show. In the movie he was much more persuasive - but that's probably because he got the time to memorize his lines! However, I will give him one thing: the pre-vampire bite 1795 Barnabas is open, kind, generous and an overall laudable character. After he becomes a vampire his character completely changes. Good work, there.

  • Before "Interview with a Vampire" "Twilight " and Trueblood" we used to watch "Dark Shadows" .........years ahead of the rest

  • Like Barnabas Collins? Try Sebastian Vasilis: "Last Rites: The Return of Sebastian Vasilis"

  • I love your choice of images, great song, and the timing of both! I especially like the quote of Sarah! That was one of my favorite scenes of the entire series!

  • Exception photos & music, Thumbs Up!

  • @tgg1957 ..yes, I know, but I had not seen those videos yet, when this fan video was made. :)

  • isn't it funny how peoplestillcontinue to love jonathan frid even after all these years.

  • @Sasukhana ... thanks for watching and commenting. I've been a fan of Barnabas and Jonathan since I was a kid many years ago. I'm glad others still admire him, too.

  • Jonathan Frid has a website. You should google it... there's lots of info there about all the work he has done over the years.

  • @yesnik4805 will do thank you

  • was johnathan in anything else besides dark shadows?

  • Fantastic video and a great song to go with it.

  • Great video! I enjoyed it very much!

  • Thank you very much, I appreciate it - glad you liked it. :)

  • The images have a very beautiful painterly quality. Great work!

  • Thanks Deva! Long live DS! :)

  • Man..I love your images they are so crisp..clear..beautiful. Lovely video yesnik. I somehow missed it. Love that image of BC at 3:06 ..its when he and Josette were speaking in the cemetary while she was putting flowers on Jeremiah's grave. The characters were both so sad and lost. You have done marvelous work here. Thanks for posting.

  • Thank you so much, FridFreak! Merry Christmas!

  • Okay...I'm trying to say this with a French accent...while typing... Ahh luuv eet!! Lol, (I love it!) This is great! Haven't done anymore Dark Shadows vids yet but I did get one posted, you'll have to check it out. -grins- Won't say who it is though.

  • I keep coming back to this. Barnabas, at 1:32--.iconic, poetical--the ultimate, tragic Byronic hero. A beautifully haunting portrait of a man for whom fate has been most cruel.

  • Thank you very kindly. I'm tickled that you enjoyed it enough to visit the video again. :)

  • The emotions that these images convey is extraordinary. I love how you have softened--"antiqued"--the settings and the facial features of each character. It presents them in a more romantic glow, especially Barnabas at 3:03, who never looked more handsome nor more tragic. An excellent compilation of clips with a beautiful sound.

  • I am a huge fan of DS both the original and Revival, and can't wait to see Johnny Depp play barnabas next year! This video was amazing!! I really really enjoyed and loved it!!! 1000 Kudos! ;)

  • Thanks a bunch! Appreciate it and glad you liked it! I can't wait to see the Johnny Depp portrayal as well. I just hope the the wild, far out, creative mind of Tim Burton doesn't make Barnabas end up looking like Beetlejuice!!

  • beautiful song, really like

  • Thanks you very kindly, for the kind words, and for the use of your screen shots!

  • This was great, and, again, I am so impressed with the clarity and crispness you are able to give these images, as well as how you combine the characters from different scenes into one new image for all us DS fans to see and enjoy (sorry, it's late as I watch this, I'm a bit sleepy and probably not doing this video justice in my comments, but I really did love it!)

  • Thanks so much, I appreciate the kind words. I enjoy fiddling with the images to make them look better.

  • Hello, thanks for the link this one of yours it is so great, personally I loved the 1795 era the best for Barnabas, I wished the evil Trask and Lt Forbes hadn't betrayed Barnabas and Josette so much, not to mention Angelique!!! at least he had Ben his friend/servant who was true, plus his dear mum and Vicky, and little Daniel too. ;)

  • Thank you, Sophia, I am thoroughly enjoying the 1795 time frame, too! Glad you liked it.
