I do like your water carrier. I also like Cold Steel and KA-BAR knives. I personally carry both. I have a standard KA-BAR, a Becker BK-2, a Cold Steel Heavy Machete, and a Cold Steel Recon 1. All quality tools.
@deeds1957 That's a lot of money. Almost double what it is in the US. I'm sure there are some good knives in the UK that cost less. Thanks for the input.
@PatriotPrepper I know mate that's why I bought a Falkniven F1 plus a condor golak and a condor parang for approx 160 pounds sterling. The Hultifors heavy duty knife is approx 12 pounds and is excellent as is the mora triflex at 23 pounds is fantastic if any of your British subscribers are interested. PS i keep saying pounds as my pound sign isn't working haha i get this # when press it.
@Joxman2k If you add 1 of those cheap mylar magnifacation lenses "flexible plastic"from the local drug store it will make your daytime firestarting a little easier
@OutdoorFunandMore I agree, you do not always need the most expensive tools. The most important tool is to used one's brain. Then it is a matter of getting the best that you can with the budget you have. There are some great products that will not cost an arm and a leg. Thank for watching
@SurplusSoldiers Hey bro, thanks for the comments. I have a couple of military canteens with detachable cups. That's the best combo, but thought the cup would be an extra item. Hopefully, we never have to rely on just three items. If we have to, we will survive.
bring your survival tools to the meeting, they'll be needed.. the first thing people will do, after the 2nd Revolution, is pool their resources to benefit all in the community.. surviving alone will be very hard, because the community just may cease your stuff for the survival of the community.. who is the community..? you and I that survive..
I agree with you on all accounts, I feel the basic survival skills are forgotten about a lot of times in prepping. I use Mora knives myself because that's what I can afford but for the money they will get the job done. I would pick the same three items if I had to choose just three. Thanks another great video my friend, God Bless.
@minbound Thank you for the comments. You are right, too many preppers sometimes forget about basic survival skills. I also agree that we must make do with what we have, and can afford, as long as we get the job done. God bless you my friend.
@lorker9 Making char cloth is a good skill to have. It is something you can also do in the field as well, and could save a person's life. Thanks for the comment.
@bowlmeoverva Yes, the Cold Steel is an excellent knife. I have used them for years and am really pleased with the quality and durability of the knife. Especially for the price. I am planning on doing a survival knife review of several knifes. Thanks for watching.
Blasphemy on your take on the Ka-Bar! just kidding. Great video and great choices. I love the push-style fire starter, I need to get one. I think in context of your video parameter, in that you can only choose 3 items, if I were to choose a water bottle I might go a step further and choose one that has a built in water filter. What is your take on those?
@762x51n8o Thank you for the comment. I think a water bottle with a filter is great. If they are made of plastic you cannot cook in them. And there is the remote possibility of breakage. In a bug out bag, if you have a cooking set, it's a good option.
In this video, because of the 3 item constraint, I chose the metal water bottle for durability and also the ability to cook food in it as well as boil water. In my BOB, I use water purification tablets, and a Katadyn water filter.
@PatriotPrepper that's a great point about cooking in the water bottle, I hadn't thought of that. And I guess you could still boil the water to sanitize it.

I would say that the seration on the K Bar would be invaluable in survival as it allows for sawing and willing of wood with ease.

hello from norfolk virginia, you may have passed through this city in your career

I like all your suggestions. I just wanted to point out that if you do have a good knife you can make fire starting equipment if you have the skills.
Personally, the number one Survival tool is our brains and the capacity to be adaptive. Number two would be skills that our arms and hands know.
.... Number three I guess would be Will to Survive:)
My top thee items in order are:
1) A good multi-tool.
2) Fire starting tool - Magnesium stick with flint
3) Rope material - para-cord
:)
