@KingFisherSarpbc you need two things: a bucket of water and a big cave with a huge lava river system. just keep pouring the water on the lava to make obsedien and re- capture the water. with big lava pools/rivers diamonds are quite common. all you need is the correct cave systems.

Diamonds are fucking everywhere. They only seem rare because they're mostly located in lava. In all honesty, Iron is a better material for tools. It's common and lasts pretty long. Diamonds are only useful for armor because you're pretty much INVINCIBLE[great balance, Notch. Can't wait to see what you'll do for leather.]
