Michelangelo Signorile interviewed Max Blumenthal around the time of this interview and Blumenthal speculated that Martin was a homosexual that was "cured" by his now wife. Martin has real problems with homosexuality, makes you wonder why.
She was well within her right to answer honestly! I could care less about that. But in that same vane, don't whine when people disagree with you. That's my problem.
I feel in a lot of ways, much if not most of the racism and bigotry ironically is generated by members of the black community. Bigotry is bigotry, People!!
18The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, 19since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.
Roland Martin is a tool. He was called out by writer Max Blumenthal as being homophobic and Roland's wife runs a we-can-cure-the-gay Church in their hometown.
I hate Roland throughout the entire presidential debates, because it was clear CNN only grabbed him for his more moderate conservative junk.
Why do people like Martin keep bringing up the President's not supporting gay marriage as though that's supposed to shut gay people up? We don't have to agree with everything the President says.
Also being a Jewish man you should be aware that in the Old Testament Polygamy was allowed but it is not allowed now. As was incest (Abraham and Sarah, Adam and Eve's children) but it is not allowed now. In many cultures gay marriage was allowed. In the early point of our country interracial marriage was illeagal. There is no rational reason for gay people not being allowed to marry. It is only people with a theocratical agenda that oppose it.
Ok JewishMusicDJ your opinion fails on numerous levels. You are compareing apples to oranges. Homosexual marriage is no different then heterosexual marriage. A woman in the NBA would be very different because the WNBA is geared toward women's strength. Also in many athletic fields women do take part in them with men such a martial arts.
Discriminating against a black person based on their race is discrimination. It's like discriminating against a gay man who wants to enter the PGA, Proffesional Golf Assoc.
However, telling a black or gay man that he can't enter the WNBA, is not discrimination. Similiarly, telling a married man & women that they are not accepted into a Gay Org. is not discrimination.
It all comes down to Equal & Same Rights.
Men & Women have Equal Rights, but they don't have Same Rights.
The simple reason is that men & women are different.
The same is true of Straight & Gay Couples.
Therefore, only a man & a woman can enter into a marriage.
When you tell Gay Couples, I'm sorry, but you can't enter into marriage, that's not discrimination. It's just like telling a man, I'm sorry, but you can't enter into the WNBA, LPGA, Women's Olympics, etc.
This Country was built on equal rights for all, which is what makes us great, but not Same Rights for all.
She wasn't picked to represent the U.S. because America has rejected conservative ideology begining with the change in Congress in 2006.
Roland can defend her answer all he wants! But that doens't take away the fact that conservative right wing ideology is now the minority in America! They will be slowly pushed to the side where their conservative, discriminal and sometimes racists views are no longer tollerated by the masses!
I respect her views but reject those views represents the U.S.!
It takes real character to stick to your beliefs & principals. Good for Miss California for answering based on what she believes and not a pondering politicaly correct answer. In my book, Miss California is the real winner.
lol That's rich coming from a Jew. You're defending a woman who thinks you're going to burn in hell because you don't believe Jesus is the sun of god (I am assuming you're Jewish because of your name, if not, then sorry)
EffLabels. She never mentioned anything about hell. She just answered to her beliefs that a marriage is between a man and a woman. We just need to come up with a name for same sex unions. How about Garriage or Lesbiage for Gay Marriages. Additionally, just because I might be Jewish doesn't mean I am religious. Being born from a Jewish mother makes me Jewish, according to many, but believing in some form of Judiasm makes me a religious Jew. In any case, standing with your convictions is virtuous.
So as someone with a Jewish mother, you would be fine with her saying I don't think Jews are going to get into heaven?
BTW Marriage has nothing to do with religion. It was around LONG before the bible. Since some states have already legalised it, I dont see the big deal with legalising the whole thing in general
Miss California, Carrie Prejean, never mentioned anything about heaven or hell. She stated her belief that she believes marriage should be between a man & a woman. Miss California also mentioned in her answer that she was proud that in America people of the gay persuasion have equal rights. I think this comes down to grammer. The word marriage is taken & gay people need a new term for it. Americans are very sympathetic to the plight of gay people. But, the term marriage is for a man & a woman.
LOL "Sympathetic" that's a tad patronizing. BTW She said that she's glad gays have equal rights, so basically she screwed up her answer within the first ten seconds because gays do NOT have equal rights. Besides her being inarticulate and inaccurate with her facts, there;s nothing about her answer that seems 'correct' (Opinion aside.)
She may have not mentioned Hell, but trust me she thinks you're on your way there, unless you come to your senses and become a bigoted Christian
I can't judge what's in Miss Californias mind, but in her answer she stated how proud she was to live in a country where same sex couples have equal rights.
Carrie Prejean believes marriage is between a man & a woman. She could of gave the politicaly correct answer, but she didn't. She probably would have won Miss USA if she did. Now that tells me that she has real character. Saying what Perez Hilton & the other judges wanted to hear is the easy route & probably giving her the crown.
First of all, she said she lives in a country where gays have equal rights, as I pointed out in my last post, gays DO NOT have equal rights, therefore her answer was inaccurate. Secondly, she did not lose because of her answer, she was losing anyway. Even Donald Trump stated that her score was low prior to Perezes question. Besides, she's getting more cash and press for losing than winning.
Sue DJ, say what you 'feel' ,but dont whine about it when people don't like your opinion. You's swear Carrie was being flogged to death.
You keep stating marriage is between a man and a woman, why don;t you try sell that to Vermont and the other four states?
You wanting to use a different word is a bit like putting a 'coloured' sign on a waterfountain "Sure we can BOTH drink water, we're the same" but people know that's bullshit.
Miss California is not whining at all. In fact, the reverse. She is proud that she was able to answer to her beliefs.
If a state wants to have a referendum on Gay Marriage, that's their right. That's what America is about. Democracy.
You try comparing Gay rights to Black rights. Now gays have equal rights except for marriage & there's a reason for that. This is a moral & ethical issue. Do we take the word marriage, man & woman, & start including, man & man, woman & woman, etc. Problematic.
Why problematic? It's been legalised in the country I live in, and guess what? The sky hasnt fallen down. Not to mention France, Norway, Germany, Shell I continue?
They all seem to be doing okay with gay marriage.
She was 'whining' by implying she lost BECAUSE of her answer, which is not true, she was going to lose anyway. And why would anyone be proud of an inarticulate woman with false facts and ill prerapred elequation? I would be embaressed.
In this country, if you want to change a law it must be passed. I think the best way is a state by state basis. I'm proud of this country because of our strong belief in democracy.
Miss California, Carrie Prejean, is a very articulate, charismatic woman. I have seen her on a number of shows, and besides being beautiful, she is classy, very respectful, even to others who have taken the low road.
Miss Carrie Prejean is a class act. All she does is state her beliefs in a respectful way and that is what I expect when someone is asked a question.
In reference to other countries. I'm proud to be an American. In fact, some of the countries you mentioned try to be politicaly correct, unlike Miss California.
It takes someone of great character, like Carrie Prejean, to not fold under pressure and say the politicaly expedient thing.
Miss California stated her beliefs. I respect her for that.
Articulate? You honestly believe the way she answered was articulate? LOL Come on! I know that she's not meant to be judged on brain power, but there are fourth graders who could have been more articulate. If you believe that Carrie Prejean is an articulate indivdual then perhaps you're easily impressed
Miss California's answer could have been presented in a more articulate manner, but I think all the Miss USA contestant's tend to fumble a little due to the immense pressure.
I am basing my opinion not on that 20 sec. clip, but on the few times I have seen her on television. In those interviews, Miss Prejean has come off articulate, classy, respectful, charismatic, & cool.
Miss Carrie Prejean is the epitome of what it means to be classy. Even when she was attacked she was repectful.

It amazes me whenever homosexuality is equated to race. Why is Signorile using inter-racial marriages to back up his argument? Asians are born Asian, Blacks are born Black, etc..homosexuals are not.
Homosexuality is equated with race because the same dignity can be espoused to blacks as can homosexuals.....and as a heterosexual when did you stop and make a choice whether you wanted to be homosexual or heterosexual....you didnt...you are what you are. Same story for homosexuals.
Listen, lets stop this fake charade of trying to compare homosexuality to the injustice black people suffered to further your fake cause. All I'll say to you is, Marriage is for 1 man & 1 woman. I already explained why, do to Same & Equal Rights.
Now i'm all for equal rights for gays, but you are barking up the wrong tree.

Keep in mind that if gays were allowed to join in marriage that would be discrimination against a man & woman who enter in this covenant.
JewishMusicDJ 2 years ago
A women entering the NBA & a man entering the WNBA, desanctifies it.
JewishMusicDJ 2 years ago
In order to enter into a marital contract you must have one thing:
Two conscenting adults of the opposite sex.
The only reason gays can't enter is because they are 2 people of the same sex.
To prove this is a Egual Rights, Same Rights issue is the fact that 2 Gays of the opposite sex, would be able to marry.
Therefore, this isn't discrimination againt gays, but only a place for the same kind, one male & one female.
A man can't enter the WNBA & a woman can't enter the NBA.

Miss California believes in the sanctity of marriage between a man & a woman.
That's all period.
Don't read too much into it.
This is one of the foundations that this country was built.
If you are against this policy, have a vote in your state, like some states have voted on already, and see where the chips fall.
That's what makes America so great. We are a Democracy. If you want change, vote for it, like many people did this last election.
