It's nonsense to say that ITV continuity announcers were "actors". That may have been the case in the 1950s, but by the 70s they were all highly professional broadcasters - many with years of experience - often graduating from local radio.
@DANWOODHOUSE They definitely did. It was 1982, they'd just taken over from Southern, so i suspect they still had access to the Southern archive. No doubt with a kids show, they were happy to do things as cheap as possible!
@g1tfinger TVS spent alot of money in providing high class kids shows over its 10 years. this looks like S12, which was made in late 1981, No doubt it was slotted in for a repeat the following summer, which does happen alot in those days,

Runaround is the only Southern programme I can remember being shown on ITV after the franchise change.
