OMFG! I just realized that if you divide the world into octrees, you can do efficient real-time raytracing through it based on the distance of the character.

@crativ3 No, thats just bump mapping and moire effect on the video. Voxels cant be shaded, at least yet. These are all poligons.

@danielmastia87 voxels can be shaded, and that wasn 't bumpmapping, the way it shaded changed when the camera moved away from them... again voxels CAN be shaded. Even if this vid is made though polygonal graphics, voxels could still be shaded (its all about the programming and shading method like Raytracing etc)
