  • Yes! I got a gao yat tattoo in this same temple on my trip to thailand, this brought back some painfull memories!

  • ha ha ha

  • hie... may i know where this place? i never did a tattoo before... so does it really pain? or like a needle injection type of feel?

  • @ravenkean There's not doubt about it, tattoos hurt and anyone who says they don't is a liar! I have had many tattoos but these were the most painful I have ever had, much more than a traditional tattoo gun. Just look at the size of the needle. If you can handle the pain then go for it as it is a truly memorable experience. I got them done at Wat Bang Phra which is about an hours drive from central Bangkok. If you want any more information, PM me.

  • @Pharangbah i got a tattoo and it honestly didnt hurt

  • I bet these would fade like a motherfucker.

  • @MMAbadassbrett Not at all. What makes you say that? I know people that have sak yant tattoos from a long time ago and they haven't faded any more than a tattoo naturally would.......

  • @Pharangbah I was gonna get one with 2 tigers with the blessing of strength and fearlessness on my arm and he was sayng if i did a few years from now you won't be able to tell what the fuck it is. He couldn't do the letters or the middle only the tigers... so only in thailand i guiss =(

  • @MMAbadassbrett I doubt very much a monk would have said that to you.

  • @Pharangbah hahaha noooooo a tattoo artest. I ment that the tat is only good to get there lol.

  • @MMAbadassbrett Oh definitely. Only a Buddhist monk can give you an unthentic sak yant. DON'T go to a standard tattoo artist because they won't know what they are doing and they can't perform the all important blessing.

  • @Pharangbah There are plenty instances where a doctor of magic (with a doctorate literally in Khmer and Sak Yant) such as Ajahn Nuu, Ajahn Thong, Thoy etc. give Sak Yant.

  • @lileichmann That is true but if you want the sak yant to be as authentic as possible, there would only be one choice as to who you would want to give you the tattoo and that would be a monk.....

  • @Pharangbah Quite on the contrary. If you want the yant "yantra" (from the sanskrit "yam"), to be as authentic as possible it would be best to receive it from one of the Ruesi as the yantra existed in Brahmanism before it intergrated into Buddhism via the esoteric majority. It has been argued quite frequently that asceticism such as sak yant does not belong in Buddhist temples. P.s., do you stay in Sakhon Nakhon?

  • @MMAbadassbrett hahaha nope it stays better than those u get at a tattoo shop

  • I really would love one of those. I have a few questions I hope you can answer, though. Do they tattoo women? Are there any non religious tattoos they have? (maybe something meaning happiness or luck?) Thank you! :)

  • @sorasgirl0 Yes, they tattoo women. All of these tattoos have a spiritual connection and some of them are for good luck. If you study the meanings before you go then it will save you time at the temple. The monks will be very helpful and will give you lots of advice if you can speak some Thai.......

  • @Pharangbah Thank you very much for the answer!

  • Can anybody tell me,if wanting one of these tattoos, is there a charge? Need to make appointment? Etc. Much appreciated for any information given.

  • @delow1987 The monks charge a small price for each yant but the money goes to the temple. I paid 2500 baht for the three yants I have. It's customary to buy the monk some cigarettes and offerings for Buddha too (flowers and incense) which you can get outside the temple. You don't need an appointment but it works on a first come first served basis so get there the earlier the better. My advice is to hook up with someone who is familiar with the temple and can take you there.

  • wow beautiful

  • @ Pharangbah: Thanks for your information about the tattoo. It looks good!

    โชคดี

  • is the bamboo sterile?

  • @treasurehiding9 Sort of. They are sharpened before each new tattoo and are cleaned in some sort of fluid but it isn't a new needle for each person so there is still some risk involved.......

  • Love the tattoo, brave to get it done the old style way. Love the meaning and process behind it.

  • WOW!!! So cool.

  • Nice you have same Aijharn as me i got 5 yants from him in April i like the nice relaxed feel upstairs where you can pick your yant .

  • @faranglaw37 Yes I think from what I have been told and what I saw the best place to have the yants done is upstairs, I was taken there by someone who was very familiar with the temple and the monks so was lucky enough to have yants done upstairs.

  • oa yeah :) it is really painful not to compare with machine

  • @aekiboy It'sa lot more painful than a standard tattoo gun.

  • was that really painful?

  • @PixieLaws Yes. You can't see it in the video but I was shaking most of the time when he was tattooing me. I couldn't wait for him to finish and kept asking my friend how much he had left to do!

  • @Pharangbah shoulda drank before dude

  • @PixieLaws Why? To try and block out the pain?

  • @PixieLaws The thing is, alcohol thins your blood and you bleed even more then!

  • @Pharangbah haha yeah for less pain, but yeah true! so how's the tat doing today?

  • @PixieLaws Very well thanks. It hasn't faded at all yet. I'm hopefully going to get some more done next year at the same place......

  • wat name of the master who sak yant for u??
