I am no Tibetan, I only strive to understand Buddha Dharma. But if the Dalai Lama whishes to somehow purify Buddhism (as practiced in Tibet) of all its spirit worship, then he should start by he himself stop relying upon the Nechung Oracle. Then he should declare that the Bon Tradition is not a religion, because by his definition, spirit worship is not a religion. I think that is an argument the Shugdenites should point out.
