Yeah the presentation of Obama's community organization qualification is overdoing it, although it does count as leadership experience, albeit a minor amount. But we can add that to his 8+ years of Senate experience.
I myself have some doubts over Obama's leadership capabilities and whether he can solve our economic situation, but like many other voters, remain proud of him.
I was just referring to the corruption that comes from Illinois politics and I'm from Louisisana so I know a thing or two about corruption. I just hope everyone will remember that he is still a public servant, not a king. He can't fix everything on his own. He nor any other government official can solve our economic situation because as Dr. Ron Paul says "you don't fix a problem created by government intervention with more government intervention".
The day America died...I don't get how he brainwashed so many people. Do any of you idiots really pay attention to what he says? He's a socialist who wants to deplete the economy so the government has too much power. He wants a "security force" that answers to him...WTF? I hope you morons are happy...you've just screwed America.
So true bro. People (including 100% of black people) wanted this jackass as prsident cuze hes black and talked about all this "Change" Bulshit. Change doesn't come from politics, it comes from everyday people. He hypnotized 90% of America with lies so he could win for selfish reasons.
Yeah, a brilliant, hardworking, self-made individual who is tolerant and thoughtful as president. Who wants that??? God, how dare we blue states and the majority of Americans vote for that. If you really believe a majority of Americans were "brainwashed," I counter that you have very little faith in your fellow Americans--and very little respect for this country.
Where is the prove of his "brilliance"?What did he do in the past?Gave a speech who was written by someone else in 2006 and knew very well how to use teleprompter? His friends like Wright, Ayers, Farrakhan,Rezko,Blagojevic speaks about his judgment and character more than words of "chabge" to those ,who refused to be brainwashed.
It's called summa cum laude from Harvard Law. Not to mention teaching at University of Chicago Law School. Believe it or not, those aren't given away. Someone has to struggle hard and long to get to that level.
And I don't think he's ever used the word "chabge" in any statement he's every made.
Well, don`t forget that G.W. Bush is a graduate from Yale University.
And since when being a lawyer equals beeing a great statesmen? What prove do you have that he is capable to fulfill those many promises he made?Nationally unknown first term Senator with very questionable relationships and with no executive experience became President thanks to Hollywood image making machine and very big money.
That's why I said he graduated summa cum laude from Harvard Law--I did not merely mention that he got into a top-tier school. Moreover, you're arguing a straw man. The point at issue is not his experience. We're arguing about his brilliance and hard work; and people keep arguing about him "brain washing."
I don`t know how good Obama is as a law professor nor do I care about it.But there is not an ounce of evidence that he has qualities and knowledge to be as great as a statesmen as he is being portrayed to be by so many. That to me looks like a cult of personality which is very dangerous for our Nation.
People look up to his intellect and his ability to inspire people. Others look up to Obama's ability to envision a nation that will move past the aches that occurred the last eight year. That people look up to this does not imply a cult of personality. Under your theory, it seems to me, no elected official should inspire and have qualifications people inspire. Indeed, all politicos should be drones--old, stale persons with qualities replicated in every other politician. But that's absurd.
What exactly means "move past the aches"?Where is the source of inspiration is coming from? What have your idol done in the past, other than being first African American President, that would justify such premature praise of his?And what really is absurd, that so many people are so gullible to believe empty promises.
I told you: from a different vision and from his record of diligence and intelligence. Surely, you can't argue that someone who has worked hard throughout their life isn't likely to work hard in the future. Is that your argument? And what, per se , makes his "promises empty." Sure, that possibility exists. But the same is true for ANY presidential candidate who promises something. In fact, that's true for any promise. The reason you say they're empty is merely your disdain for the man.
His record is that he is a first term Senator with no executive experience and with ,dangerous, radical friends like Wright and Ayers. For example,Mitt Romney has a record of being successful governor of fairly large state of Massachusetts ,he perfectly managed Salt Lake City Olympics and as a successful businessmen ,he knows about economy, more than Obama, Biden,McCain and Palin put all together. And thats ,my friend, is the difference between words and record.
His record is also that of a first-term Senator who, through new methods of fund raising and campaigning, created a political machine that defeated two, highly entrenched, significantly better-known opponents. Believe it or not, managing a campaign is probably just as difficult as managing an Olympics.
If you really believe that his money came "through new methods" then you are really naive. And if you believe that giving campaign speeches written by someone else, giving endless promises and bashing the opponents is just as difficult as actually DOING something ,than you not only naive, but, no offence, possibly brainwashed.
When have I mentioned his giving speeches as an accomplishment. Please stop with the straw-man arguments. And, to ask someone not to take offense at an offensive comment, is naivete personified.
Dear LawNerd81,do you understand that once the election is over, the glittering generalities of rhetoric and style means nothing.Everything will depend on performance in facing huge challenges, domestic and foreign. And the performance is where Barack Obama has nothing to show for his political career, either in Illinois or in Washington.
Au contraire, dear LawNerd81,I spoke facts and you gave me just typical baseless Obama praising liberal propaganda about how inspiring he is.Thats what the brainwashed ones do.
And that's fine. No one has to say you have to like the man. I don't very much like Bush in his capacity as president. But for you, or anyone, to insinuate that those that do like Obama are simply brainwashed is ridiculous and lacks any faith in American democracy. And to argue that the man has no merit despite his academic and political accomplishments-which includes his political defeat of McCain and the Clintons--is silly. If you cannot concede that much, then I don't know what to say.
Its not about weather I like him or not. Its about being silly and blindly believing in something based on nothing or about thinking and making your own conclusions based on analysis of information.
How is working hard, being successful, and managing to organize one of the better political machines against better-equipped opponents nothing? Merely because you say "he hasn't proven anything" does not make it so. People who work hard in the past tend to work hard in the future. And Obama has worked hard--at Harvard and as a political organizer. Intelligence, foresight, and diligence IS something.
He didn't graduate summa cum laude. I was wrong. He did, however, graduate magna cum laude in 1991. Look it up in Encyclopedia Britannica and Wikipedia if you do not believe me.
People can believe whatever they want. But, at some point, the different opinions held over observable fact makes one person a rationale human and the other delusional.
Called "The Marketing of a President" How the American media planned and promoted a person that was a great orator, but lacked any proven accompaniments in leadership.
Isn't it curious that when gas prices were rising every week, so many were quick to blame President Bush? Yet today, with the price dropping rapidly, you don't hear a word of praise. Is Bush really the cause of all our nation's ills, and have we learned anything from the gas price fluctuation? Hmm The American liberal media?
Ha, I guess I'm stupid. Then again, you failed to state where I went wrong. Most people only know about this rookie, because of his speeches. Denzel Washington could have delivered those speeches.
tuchman, you must be a kid. An adult would respond with points and facts. I guess you have none like most Liberals drinking the Obama Kool Aid. So tell me one major accomplishment Obama has done for this country or the world? Hes WAS my do nothing Senator of Illinois.
NO I am not a child. I am a veteran of the war in Iraq. And I welcome a president that has a plan to get us out of that country. Honestly would be happier if McCain had won? just wondering..
tuch, you think like a kid under 25. I was in Vietnam. What does that have to do with Obama be qualified to lead the country? Why is it that Obama supporters dodge the question of experience? No one knew Obamas name 3 years ago and not hes going to be the President? Great Marketing and media bias did it. I was a Romney supporter. McCain? Not so great, but more qualified then the rookie.
I knew his name in 2004 when I heard his speech at the Democrat's convention...and guess what I am over 25 even over 30-but that is not relevant really. Either way, Obama is going to be the next president... maybe Sarah Palin will run in 2012! perhaps she has the experience you desire! take care old man!
congrats to all reasonable americans! this time you did it right! in europe, for instance in germany, over 80% would have voted for obama! we're so relieved! greetings from europe
no matter who wins, we will see these same post, except by different people. IT seems we have haters and fear mongers on both sides. HOWEVER< so many of us realize that Obama was meant to be our president now. HE IS THE MAN for this time.
how sad that we have so many ignorant folks in our country. People who call Obama a Hitler, how rediculous! I am inspired by Mr Obama's ability to not worry about these folks and focus on the road ahead. CONGRATS! OBAMA
If you read the comment, you would understand what I mean, bud. Obama is a passionate speaker and capable of compelling American people to act, just as Hitler was. Of course, Obama hasn't proven to be a psycho yet! HeHe, no; I think Obama is a great man and will be a great leader, and every time he speaks tears come to my eyes. I am so proud to be an American, once again. It's been almost a decade since I have felt this way!
For all the haters, pessimists and negative, racist comments, now I've come to think its all about being 1) ignorant, 2) narrow-minded and 3) you just envious.
America supports Obama! That is why is won, He has 364 electoral votes over McCains 163 (and you need only 270 to win). I am so glad we have a president with such great character and clear vision.
Yes, I am with you on that one. America spoke and we want Barack as our leader. Finally, an intellegent, competetent vanguard to guide us into a new age in the U.S. Go Obama!
Jesus is from Israel. Go live there. This is America. It doesn't matter what religion you are. That is why your "radical" christians came here in the first place! FREEDOM OF RELIGION. You need to read a non fiction history book, and no, the bible is not non-fiction.
56million people voted Obama. But still 46million voted McCain. America made the right choice! Those who dont like Obama are people who are afraid of Change because its something new. They will rather stay the old way cause they think they are safe where they are. They are mostly rich, old, uneducated people who dont want to spred their wealth! Shame on them! I think Obama even if he cant change all that in 4years he has definitely brought hope to so many people just as myself! This man is good
There was a fork on the road and We, The American People, have chosen the right path. I volunteered for Obama in Florida and I saw first hand the hope and hard work that everyone put into making this happen. Our efforts will reverbarate through time. God Bless America!
I agree that Obama is the man for the job. People, despite of party affiliation, are really dogging on Obama's ability to run this country. Ask yourself: was McCain any more prepared? This is a horrible time to become President, period! At least Obama has a positive message and is motivating the American people to be proud of ourselves again, and starting a fiery passion within us that will help us become the greatest country in the world once again. We can do it! I know we can!
Yes, I know the election is over, but why did it turn out this way? Obama won on the basis of emotion, fallacious blame and his left-wing sooth-saying philosophies. Not on the merits or the means of what will work for American growth.
Sure, Obama won with emotional appeal. That's what the greatest leaders in history have done: Obama, FDR, Churchill, even Hitler! They got people to get up off their butts and get things done (I'm by no means condoning Hitler, but it is an example). We have become lazy and satisfied with our global position, but finally people are waving flags. I know in my city a crowd of thousands of college students marched on the Strip chanting Obama! Black, white, asian, old, young: we are united again
Hitler? wow, guess it doesn't matter if he's unequipped or corrupt, just as long as he wins on emotion. It would be much much better if he won both. If the economy is the #1 issue right now, why did we elect a man with no economic merits to his name?
Um, maybe you need to re-read what I said: the point I was making is that Obama has enstowed a passion among Americans to change our situation. No single man is going to make the economy great again, whether it's McCain or Obama. There are many different paths to the same goal, as well. We all need to work together to retain America's greatness, and I believe that certainly is going to happen, as long as people with a negative attitude similar to yours are able to gain some pride and TRY~
I have pride and I will always fight for America, it's sad if you only will if Obama is pres. My negative attitude is towards Obama's experience. You need to re-read what I have writen and re-write what you have. And I don't need to accept your sentimental views of obama as anything factual or beneficial.
And what the hell does "enstowed" mean? Is that even a real word?

Hussain Obama ,first nigger communist muslim president of USA,the worst mixture ever!!this is one of the worst day in my life.what hell happened to Americans?!you forgot all but economy, what a fuck he will do ,did u see his of shit mother land??.you forgot more than 200,000 American youth fighting satans and spread the word of the lord in the middleast ,you know Iam not shocked because this country becomes more and more latino , asian, black ,indian and muslim ,God save America
"you know Iam not shocked because this country becomes more and more latino , asian, black ,indian and muslim"
Duh, this is UNITED STATE of America. at one point, people from all around the world migrated to this coutnry (well execpt native americans) even your own people, considering that you are white. so whether it was 100 thousands years ago or now this is a free land and people can live here legally and then will BECOME AMERICANS.
The world is with you! I have seen Americans in the streets and workplaces of Melbourne being hugged, congratulated, and above all being proud to be Americans once again. Believe me, it's been a long time since that's happened. Obama, you have restored our faith in your nation. Let's build bridges.
save america when it comes to it not just the rich not just the politicans. sir are fate lays in your hands so lead us to the future you speak of and keep it in tact for the following generations.
give are freedoms back to the deserving, free us from hate from other countrys,
show the government is one with the people instead of seperate, this has become the american dream
god dame ! i love this guy ! wat i like abt him he is confident than any one OUT there ! i mean seriously ! i just love the way he talks ! Hes got major potential and very good confidence ! congrates to Obama ! hell make a change....waiting 4 dat day !
It is a good thing that the pressure is on! Now you can hold your president accountable! Now America will be more attentive to their government. Obama is an inspiration! Congratulations AMERICA! GOOD JOB!
Poor Obama, the pressure's on him now! Let's hope he lives up to our expectations! Good luck Obama and congrats to not just America, but the whole world! A great country needs a great leader. Let's hope Obama's the man for the job!
What really else made me feel good was reading these and other comments from people around the world, Belgium, the Netherlands, Canada, congratulating us and giving us their support. Now we can, as a whole, as Americans, be a country the world can believe in, and be proud of. God bless Obama & God bless America!
This speech rocks! I wish the full one was available. The full one on ObamaDotCom only uses 1 camera and doesn`t show the crowd which loses the emotional impact. I especially like when he talks about the 106 year old black women who voted. That was epic! Obama FTW!
Please Obama. You didn't raise 800,000,000 million dollars from knocking on doors. There are just a few people who did the majority of that for you. Thank Oprah. Thank the few wealthy people who's agenda you are pushing.
This history in the making. This is really a change for the better. For all who fear equality, for all who fear justice, this may not be the best moment. But for us who believe in a nation under God where all men are created equal this is a the beginning of a glorious second chance for America. Young black men you have an example of what happens when you work hard, value family, and success is sure to come. It is your chance now to put away excuses and press toward the mark, and achieve freedom

The point at issue is not his experience. We're arguing about his brilliance and hard work; and people keep arguing about him "brain washing."
LawNerd81 3 years ago
I don`t know how good Obama is as a law professor nor do I care about it.But there is not an ounce of evidence that he has qualities and knowledge to be as great as a statesmen as he is being portrayed to be by so many. That to me looks like a cult of personality which is very dangerous for our Nation.
aidrianblue77 3 years ago
People look up to his intellect and his ability to inspire people. Others look up to Obama's ability to envision a nation that will move past the aches that occurred the last eight year. That people look up to this does not imply a cult of personality. Under your theory, it seems to me, no elected official should inspire and have qualifications people inspire. Indeed, all politicos should be drones--old, stale persons with qualities replicated in every other politician. But that's absurd.
LawNerd81 3 years ago
What exactly means "move past the aches"?Where is the source of inspiration is coming from? What have your idol done in the past, other than being first African American President, that would justify such premature praise of his?And what really is absurd, that so many people are so gullible to believe empty promises.
aidrianblue77 3 years ago
I told you: from a different vision and from his record of diligence and intelligence. Surely, you can't argue that someone who has worked hard throughout their life isn't likely to work hard in the future. Is that your argument? And what, per se , makes his "promises empty." Sure, that possibility exists. But the same is true for ANY presidential candidate who promises something. In fact, that's true for any promise. The reason you say they're empty is merely your disdain for the man.
LawNerd81 3 years ago
His record is that he is a first term Senator with no executive experience and with ,dangerous, radical friends like Wright and Ayers. For example,Mitt Romney has a record of being successful governor of fairly large state of Massachusetts ,he perfectly managed Salt Lake City Olympics and as a successful businessmen ,he knows about economy, more than Obama, Biden,McCain and Palin put all together. And thats ,my friend, is the difference between words and record.
aidrianblue77 3 years ago
His record is also that of a first-term Senator who, through new methods of fund raising and campaigning, created a political machine that defeated two, highly entrenched, significantly better-known opponents. Believe it or not, managing a campaign is probably just as difficult as managing an Olympics.
LawNerd81 3 years ago
If you really believe that his money came "through new methods" then you are really naive. And if you believe that giving campaign speeches written by someone else, giving endless promises and bashing the opponents is just as difficult as actually DOING something ,than you not only naive, but, no offence, possibly brainwashed.
aidrianblue77 3 years ago
When have I mentioned his giving speeches as an accomplishment. Please stop with the straw-man arguments. And, to ask someone not to take offense at an offensive comment, is naivete personified.
LawNerd81 3 years ago
Dear LawNerd81,do you understand that once the election is over, the glittering generalities of rhetoric and style means nothing.Everything will depend on performance in facing huge challenges, domestic and foreign. And the performance is where Barack Obama has nothing to show for his political career, either in Illinois or in Washington.
aidrianblue77 3 years ago
Who are you arguing with? You avoid any facts I show you and keep arguing against his speeches. And I'm the brainwashed one?
LawNerd81 3 years ago
Au contraire, dear LawNerd81,I spoke facts and you gave me just typical baseless Obama praising liberal propaganda about how inspiring he is.Thats what the brainwashed ones do.
aidrianblue77 3 years ago
Uh huh.
LawNerd81 3 years ago
Brainwashing makes you weak.
aidrianblue77 3 years ago
And that's fine. No one has to say you have to like the man. I don't very much like Bush in his capacity as president. But for you, or anyone, to insinuate that those that do like Obama are simply brainwashed is ridiculous and lacks any faith in American democracy. And to argue that the man has no merit despite his academic and political accomplishments-which includes his political defeat of McCain and the Clintons--is silly. If you cannot concede that much, then I don't know what to say.
LawNerd81 3 years ago
Its not about weather I like him or not. Its about being silly and blindly believing in something based on nothing or about thinking and making your own conclusions based on analysis of information.
aidrianblue77 3 years ago
How is working hard, being successful, and managing to organize one of the better political machines against better-equipped opponents nothing? Merely because you say "he hasn't proven anything" does not make it so. People who work hard in the past tend to work hard in the future. And Obama has worked hard--at Harvard and as a political organizer. Intelligence, foresight, and diligence IS something.
LawNerd81 3 years ago
Not that its important, but Obama was a "C average" ,not "summa cum laude" .
aidrianblue77 3 years ago
He didn't graduate summa cum laude. I was wrong. He did, however, graduate magna cum laude in 1991. Look it up in Encyclopedia Britannica and Wikipedia if you do not believe me.
LawNerd81 3 years ago
Wikipedia says he was born in Hawaii, his grandma swears that he was born in Mombasa,Kenya...You free to choose to believe in whatever you want...

Straw man.
People can believe whatever they want. But, at some point, the different opinions held over observable fact makes one person a rationale human and the other delusional.

Called "The Marketing of a President" How the American media planned and promoted a person that was a great orator, but lacked any proven accompaniments in leadership.
wsoxman 3 years ago
Isn't it curious that when gas prices were rising every week, so many were quick to blame President Bush? Yet today, with the price dropping rapidly, you don't hear a word of praise. Is Bush really the cause of all our nation's ills, and have we learned anything from the gas price fluctuation? Hmm The American liberal media?
wsoxman 3 years ago
are you really that stupid? WOW!
tuchman6 3 years ago
Ha, I guess I'm stupid. Then again, you failed to state where I went wrong. Most people only know about this rookie, because of his speeches. Denzel Washington could have delivered those speeches.
wsoxman 3 years ago
well at least we agree on one thing, that you in fact are stupid!
tuchman6 3 years ago
tuchman, you must be a kid. An adult would respond with points and facts. I guess you have none like most Liberals drinking the Obama Kool Aid. So tell me one major accomplishment Obama has done for this country or the world? Hes WAS my do nothing Senator of Illinois.
wsoxman 3 years ago
NO I am not a child. I am a veteran of the war in Iraq. And I welcome a president that has a plan to get us out of that country. Honestly would be happier if McCain had won? just wondering..
tuchman6 3 years ago
tuch, you think like a kid under 25. I was in Vietnam. What does that have to do with Obama be qualified to lead the country? Why is it that Obama supporters dodge the question of experience? No one knew Obamas name 3 years ago and not hes going to be the President? Great Marketing and media bias did it. I was a Romney supporter. McCain? Not so great, but more qualified then the rookie.
wsoxman 3 years ago
I knew his name in 2004 when I heard his speech at the Democrat's convention...and guess what I am over 25 even over 30-but that is not relevant really. Either way, Obama is going to be the next president... maybe Sarah Palin will run in 2012! perhaps she has the experience you desire! take care old man!

no matter who wins, we will see these same post, except by different people. IT seems we have haters and fear mongers on both sides. HOWEVER< so many of us realize that Obama was meant to be our president now. HE IS THE MAN for this time.
This is a huge step for our country. : )

how sad that we have so many ignorant folks in our country. People who call Obama a Hitler, how rediculous! I am inspired by Mr Obama's ability to not worry about these folks and focus on the road ahead. CONGRATS! OBAMA
we welcome you and your family

If you read the comment, you would understand what I mean, bud. Obama is a passionate speaker and capable of compelling American people to act, just as Hitler was. Of course, Obama hasn't proven to be a psycho yet! HeHe, no; I think Obama is a great man and will be a great leader, and every time he speaks tears come to my eyes. I am so proud to be an American, once again. It's been almost a decade since I have felt this way!

This man is good

jcfractal 3 years ago
I agree that Obama is the man for the job. People, despite of party affiliation, are really dogging on Obama's ability to run this country. Ask yourself: was McCain any more prepared? This is a horrible time to become President, period! At least Obama has a positive message and is motivating the American people to be proud of ourselves again, and starting a fiery passion within us that will help us become the greatest country in the world once again. We can do it! I know we can!
jedarrohn 3 years ago
Yes, I know the election is over, but why did it turn out this way? Obama won on the basis of emotion, fallacious blame and his left-wing sooth-saying philosophies. Not on the merits or the means of what will work for American growth.
ravagetime 3 years ago
Sure, Obama won with emotional appeal. That's what the greatest leaders in history have done: Obama, FDR, Churchill, even Hitler! They got people to get up off their butts and get things done (I'm by no means condoning Hitler, but it is an example). We have become lazy and satisfied with our global position, but finally people are waving flags. I know in my city a crowd of thousands of college students marched on the Strip chanting Obama! Black, white, asian, old, young: we are united again
jedarrohn 3 years ago 2
Hitler? wow, guess it doesn't matter if he's unequipped or corrupt, just as long as he wins on emotion. It would be much much better if he won both. If the economy is the #1 issue right now, why did we elect a man with no economic merits to his name?
ravagetime 3 years ago
Um, maybe you need to re-read what I said: the point I was making is that Obama has enstowed a passion among Americans to change our situation. No single man is going to make the economy great again, whether it's McCain or Obama. There are many different paths to the same goal, as well. We all need to work together to retain America's greatness, and I believe that certainly is going to happen, as long as people with a negative attitude similar to yours are able to gain some pride and TRY~
jedarrohn 3 years ago
I have pride and I will always fight for America, it's sad if you only will if Obama is pres. My negative attitude is towards Obama's experience. You need to re-read what I have writen and re-write what you have. And I don't need to accept your sentimental views of obama as anything factual or beneficial.
And what the hell does "enstowed" mean? Is that even a real word?
ravagetime 3 years ago
And if you can't join in on attempting to make America the greatest country in the world: buckle up, Buddy, and stay out of our way! OBAMA!
