Well, you certainly were motivated! But the info was readily available all along, so sorry you had to work so hard at finding it. I'm curious to understand your motivation to do that! Did you watch the videos?
I spent about 3 hours searching. The main problem was that the search sites for physicians are not user friendly. Many of them want a name, specialty, and city of practice for a search. Seems to me if someone had all that information, why would they need to search? Other sites charge a fee for their searches. Did you know that over 20% of healthcare costs are just the cost of record keeping? Gov't should fix healthcare before plunging into socialism to pay for substandard coverage.
Not sure where your statistic comes from, but I do know that medical record keeping is extremely important! Bad records, bad results, no outcomes research, etc. A secure digital system would go a long way towards making for better records, and (in a secure and private system, of course) improve search results too!
Statistic is from CNN a few days ago, not that CNN is very accurate.
Anyway, I'm interested in your opinion on something since you don't think the way most people do. Girl adopted as a baby is now 19 years old. 4 months ago, the only mother she ever knew unexpectedly had massive stroke, never regained consciousness and 3 days later doctor said to come to hospital since death was imminent. Husband didn't get 2 hospital fast enough because he had to drop 19 yr old off at a party! Opinion please.
Can't give an informed opinion, because I know next to nothing from what you've said. Values, motivation, needs and wants are obviously in play, and possibly driving various conflicts. Or could be disorganization, indecision or a failure to prioritize. Could be some horrid ingrate with no empathy for her adopted mom, or a pathetic victim tormented by her for years. What can I opine other than speculation, say much, mean little. Please tell me, WHY are YOU asking ME this HERE?
Don't know where else 2 ask. Anyway, the 19 yo girl just completed 12 years of private christian school. She ACTS as if she is a sweet girl, and did and went everywhere with the mother. Personally, I think that girl is the most cold-blooded monster I have met. Now, the girl is saying "I love your daddy!" to her 75 year old father at least 10 times per day - as a way to control him. She could murder someone, say "I love u daddy" and he would forgive her. I have no idea how to deal with this.
What's missing for me here is what you want, why you want it, and what your relationship is to the different people you've described.
If you move this conversation to my blog at DrKBlogDotCom, I'll reply in more detail. And if you would like some private coaching, use the contact form on my blog or my coaching site, at TalkWithRickDotCom
I'll go to the contact form or blog over the weekend. I'm in too much pain to think clearly today. The message length limitation of youtube makes communication difficult. That is why I hate Twitter - I think its limit is only 120 characters! Twitter must be for twits who are very superficial and only have a vocabulary of one-syllable words.
The YouTube commenting system is severely hobbled. Upside of it is that limits on characters tend to force greater clarity than we otherwise might use. I didn't really get the value of twitter (140 characters limit) microblogging until we had a fire break out in our forest here in southern Oregon. Twitterers got the word out faster than anyone about what was going on. Awesome in an emergency where keeping up to date is fundamental. No such limits on my blog, but try to be concise.
Yes, 140 is the limit. CNN has become a fountain of misinformation in the past few years. They said 120. Another problem I see with Twitter is that real-time information is usually unreliable. About 2 weeks ago, a near panic erupted at the USF campus in Tampa over a Twitter hoax. Crying wolf is a very dangerous thing.
Ironically, many forest fires that don't destroy homes wind up being beneficial to the environment.
My training as a naturopathic doctor has helped me to be a more effective coach, just as it helped me to be a better trainer. I learned a way of thinking in school that has been confirmed and reinforced by my life's experiences, again and again.
So what about you? And what do you think of the video?
I no longer have a naturopathic practice, and have not in many years. In 1987, thanks to a very generous offer from an international company, I had to decide to continue my private practice or go full time into the training business. I chose training. In the last few years, I've been able to open a limited private practice in coaching / counseling.
I think my track record speaks for itself. And the truth is out there, and should not take anyone more than a few minutes to find it. Really.
FYI, in case you still haven't found it, I'm a proud 1981 graduate of National College of Natural Medicine, a 4 year naturopathic medical school in Portland that requires 3 years of conventional pre-med to be a student. I also attended Northern Kentucky University, and have a bachelor of science degree in human biology from Kansas Newman College. I wrote about my background in the first chapter of my first book, and in several books after.
I share in your skepticism about the use of the title 'doctor,' since people can now buy degrees from diploma mills without any academic discipline or rigor involved. But I don't think MDs should have an exclusive use of the title. Doctor is accepted in society as representing a certain level of education, be it DO, PhD, MD, ND or DC.

Not being obtuse. I've tried to post links in the comment field here and the comment won't post unless I remove the link.
