  • outstanding - you still bothered to post an amp demo with no sound! WTG dude!

  • @alheeley Outstanding... No matter how many annotations I put up on my video, no one cares to read the description.

Dude, learn to read descriptions. The demo of the sound is found in the link.

    Thanks for the view though.

  • Rec or 6505 (green) with TubeScreamer on ! mids off gain cranked, lots of reverb and a bit delay = sexy tone !

  • wow thanks!!!! :P

  • @skin55557 Thanks for watching :)

  • 7 being the highest not 6

  • @ChrissSongs I'm counting the light when you turn a setting all the way down as 0. So yeh, it's 6.

  • Is this the tone for the whole album or just the song? :)

  • @ZZappeKristofferson Just for this song. But you can use this setting for some other GnR songs, but tweak it a little.

  • Rec amp ?? I've never played Sweet child on a mesa boogie rectifier...

  • @niahaa Then try it lol

  • With those settings my amp is super loud it won't go past 1 without being too loud.

  • @SbChilli I know, it's really annoying sometimes because the master volume is so sensitive. Just turn down the pre gain a little.

  • @SbChilli yep it's one of the reasons i'd ditching this amp. it's unusable for me. There's no volume i can get it at where i can play it and not hear the strings but still hear the amp sound. That and i'd prefer a blues junior cause it better suits my style of play

  • Dude this is awesome this will help A LOT! Thanks!!!

  • @DefPanther186 Your welcome dude :)

  • what's an amp?

  • @riseofthefallen301 It's a unit used for measuring electricity current.

  • @riseofthefallen301 lol amp stands for amplifier .

  • Can I put the same control on a Peavey Vypyr Tube 60?

  • @DarkNunzio97 Yeh, just set your Stompbox to Bypass :)

  • does anyone know a stairway to heaven settings?

  • @swarm567 Go on the Peavey Vyper Settings website in the description of this video. You'll have to register to search for settings, however it's free and fast to register. Once you've registered and logged in, search for the setting you want, there should be quite a few Stairways to Heaven settings.

  • CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME A CLEAN SETTING FOR THIS AMP?!?

  • @swarm567 Amp: Brit (Green, by press in the Amp settings knob)

    Effect: Bypass

    Pregain: 6 (Full)

    Low: 5

    Mid: 4

    High: 5

    Post gain: 6

    Delay: None

    Reverb: 1.5

(Leave effect parameters, won't make a difference)

  • @SlashGnR09 i just bought the amp so i was kinda confused thanks

  • will the tone sound this good on a jay turser les paul

  • @bretzel327 I'm not sure actually. Try this setup and adjust it a little.

  • Nice - best repro of that sounds I have found so far

  • @badger2196 Thanks :)

  • no sound demo? O_O

  • @MrPetersonic100 (Copied and pasted my reply to a previous comment annoyingly):

.. Doesn't anyone read the annotations or description anymore? The audio link for this setting is in the description. My mic at the time was faulty so I couldn't record the sound.

Just to emphasize the point again to other people, please do read the annotations and description, thanks :)

  • @MrPetersonic100 So if you read the description of this video, the sound demo is found in the link.

  • its kinda hard to get these sound right.. i bought it and now ive played around and noticed that the if u push the button down most the the left the "overdrive" comes on .. however, if you choose a effect which is "distortion, isnt that then over drive ? so praktically its doubled overdrive ? :D

  • @rrgert4 You're right that if you push down the Amp settings knob to turn them red, it'll be in overdrive. The effects however are different, but I think I know what you mean. No entirely sure to be honest.

Especially if you're trying to get the Tubescreamer to sound right with an overdriven amp selected without it sounding too messy. I've managed to get a decent metal tone with the Tubescreamer effect after about 10mins of messing about with settings, it's just getting used to the amp really.

  • @SlashGnR09

yeah i know it takes a while.. but i havent just got that with the "edit mode" when yo push down the effects knob... like it seems that you can edit the equaliser knobs all the time ? if i push it down will it like "save" or reset if i choose a preset ?

and do you know what those "banks" are ? (a,b,c )

  • @rrgert4 Think of banks A, B and C as folders in a computer. 1, 2, 3 and 4 are the files in those folders. If you go into Bank A, you access 4 of the presets in Bank A. If you go into Bank B, you then access 4 of the presets in Bank B, and so on. So altogether, you can save up to 12 settings, 4 in each Bank.

To save them, hold down 1, 2, 3 or 4 in the bank you choose, the red light next to the number you hold down will go off for a second, then once it comes back on, it will be saved.

  • @SlashGnR09

oh yeah i noticed :D cause i was like WTF wheres my distorion when every preset was like green, then i noticed i was on bank B not A :D the factory presets which were on B and C were kinda horrible :DD

  • @rrgert4 I hated all the factory presets haha ^^

  • @SlashGnR09

yeah gotta change those, btw thanks for posting that comment, now i got rid of that delay on which i had on every preset, now i can get that rhythm with palm mute to sound good :)

  • @rrgert4 (continued) So lets say you want to save a setting into Bank B number 2: You press Bank B and then hold down number 2 to save it in there. So next time you want to choose that preset, you press Bank B and press number 2.

  • @rrgert4 I'm not sure what you mean when you said "but i havent just got that with the "edit mode" when yo push down the effects knob... like it seems that you can edit the equaliser knobs all the time ? if i push it down will it like "save" or reset if i choose a preset? "

I'll send you a message and help you from there, comments have limited characters which is a pain.

  • you need to have some delay your are 0 id say about 4.5 and 5

  • @jimdooby Nah, that's your opinion, I just prefer it with no delay ^^

  • Sounds like an eargasm it's so close, thanks! :) ( fyi reverb in the album version sounds like alot to... i norm turn it up to 8 on bypass)

  • @coryrbk You're welcome :D I think 3.5 (or at most 4) should be enough because you have to consider the guitar solos in the song as well as the intro (unless if you have a Sanpera footswitch that is).

However, it's all up to your own opinion, I just think '8' is a little too much :) (But I think you meant 6, because the settings only go up to 6, haha)

  • @SlashGnR09 yeah. lmfao... i forgot that this is my amp that only goes to 6 :D i got one that goes to 10... lol and yeah your exactlly right, my bad lol

  • @coryrbk my amp goes to 13 i think this one does to myn also has a power sponge:)

  • @jimdooby Aw yeah... indeed...

  • So you showed us the setting but didn't play it.

  • @lpncubs3 ... Doesn't anyone read the annotations or description anymore? The audio link for this setting is in the description. My mic at the time was faulty so I couldn't record the sound.

Just to emphasize the point again to other people, please do read the annotations and description, thanks :)

  • @SlashGnR09 my bad. Keep rocking on.

  • How lucky am I, I also have an Epiphone Les Paul standard xD

  • thank you so much its perfect!

  • Perfect!!

  • @jespererikmartin Thanks ^^

  • with EMG 85 it's just like Slash :)

  • that didn't sound right at all...

  • @through0glass Well, what guitar and pickups do you have? Different guitars (and pickups) will sound different to each other. If you read my description, I've set this tone so it will right for my Epiphone Les Paul Standard guitar.

  • do you put the tone for the rhythm pickup on 10 or 0?

  • @Jiminibobster Set both neck and bridge pickups to 10 :)

  • this is so freaking awesome !

  • @mrjaemy Thanks! :D

  • THX!

  • @pyramidiot1 You're welcome :D I've sent you another personal message by the way.

  • hey do u know how to get santana's tone?? for smooth??

  • i have the vypyr just the 30 watt and u can try the jsx amp model for slash's tone but i found a website for some song presets

  • @GeetarBeast401 Yeh, the JSX (with a low Mid and the Low set half way) has a good tone for an overall Slash tone, but probably not for this song.

  • @SlashGnR09 yes it is i use it all of the time. use the rhythm pickup with a the tone a little knocked back

  • @GeetarBeast401 can you share me the website that you found?

  • @gabrieltluangneh The link to the website (including my setting and audio) is in the description.

  • to get the sound of that amp with a strat you have to use rec model, tube scream, pre gain 6, low 6, med 3, high 5, post hain 6 with edit mode on.

  • Hey... do you know the settings for Enter Sandman by Mettallica?

    Nice vid :)

  • I have the same AMP and guitar haha, u know what settings i should use for master of puppets?

  • @TroyFirme Yeah ^^ Try this one, it's great for Master Of Puppets: (6 as the highest, 0 as the lowest) Amp: JSX Effect: Bypass Pre gain: 6 Low: 3 Mid: 1.5 High: 5.5 Post Gain: 6 Delay: 0 Delay level: 0 Reverb: 1 There you go :) Have fun :D
  • @SlashGnR09

thanks! :P sry for late reply

  • @TroyFirme JSX on the red channel by the way, sorry.

  • I like the Mesa dual rectifier amp model.. it can handle from metallica, megadeth to slayer, six feet under.. crank the gain full, bass on 6.5 mid on 4 treble on 4.5.. post gain 4... u will get a nice heavey metal sound( as per my opinion)

  • how do you get rammstein's tone? or any german industrial tone?

    im new to guitar.

  • you put distortion to the max

    Anyway... They suck

if youre new to guitar why would you play rammstein

if you wanna play something good learn: Megadeth

  • @andrew6xtreme megadeth is awful.

  • @Christopherwilder47 lol fail

  • i used k-stein everytime, sounds like pantera amp settings

  • Mmmh yeah, why not.

    I've a Squier and a 15W Vypyr but I don't use these settings.

After me, you gotta put some delay on, it sounds more "real". And I use the K-Stein (OD) + TubeScreamer, I found it sounds great.

Other question, how sounds an Epiphone LP in this amp? I may buy it. Thanks.

  • Yeah, I thought of using K-Stein for the effect as well, but I wanted a deeper tone with the Treble turned down slightly, so I use Rec.

Epiphone LP sounds great on this amp, but don't forget, it's the amp that produces most of the tone and sound. Althought I did try a Squier through this amp, and I thought the Epiphone LP sounded better... but that's in my opinion.

Les Pauls are great for their value, they're amazing guitars with such a low price for their quality. I'd recommend it ^^

  • Okay, thanks.

I wondered if changing my guitar would be a good choice, cause Vypyr amps are modeling amps, i thought it won't change lots of things.

  • You're welcome :)

  • And scuse me for my English, I'm French ^^

  • You're english is good :D

  • Your*

    Sorry XD

  • so.. i find that the k-stein sounds a little... dry.. dont know if that makes sense to you, but. i tried the plexi with a tube screamer. it sounded great to me. with reverb its very vintage with a modern edge... just my opinion...

Also, vypyr owners. who else's amp doesnt start up and cuts out sometimes? i sent mine back to peavey.

  • That happened to my 75w. Took it back to Dawson's and got a new one and a Sanpera II :)

  • Haha, I go to Dawson's for my music things as well :D

Too bad the Sanpera II is the only footswitch for the Peavey Vypyr at the moment... Is it any good?

  • It is brilliant :)

Perfect if you wanna play small gigs and shiz, you can see exactly what effects you're using and everything :)

  • Cool ^^

  • Have in mind it is a modeling amp so processor (or software) has its possible bugs, it is not perfect but I like it (for that price). I hear losses when i turn down volume pot on the guitar, response of amp is weak and annoying. Generally, K-stein and neck pickup with rolled down tone pot will do most of Slash solos.

  • @mefmef21 ya. i faced same prob wid my V75.. sent it back to peavey.. they replaced it for a new one...

  • i have an squier and a peavey vypyr 75 and i have a different setting for sweet child o mine.

just simply, stompbox = distortion (1 right next to bypass) & amp = JSX distorted & Reverb = full

i use that sound with my squier aff. on the neck single coil...

  • what stompbox are you on?

  • I have the 15watt model sorry

  • i'd use the squeeze... sounds ok to me. im using a fender humbucker at the bridge...
