They do and i won't lie, I was schocked. But Modern Family is a racist show. EVERY single episde has a race joke, yeah shows like my name is earl, family guy once in a while is fine but EVERY SINGLE week and only against one group is racist and again Sofia is only on the show cuz of T and A but she is racist herself. she make racist remarks in esquire magazine against latin men yet she likes the ones who make fun of her.

I think the whole talk about race is interesting because in real life this is how people assume the "other" to be like and the interactions among the characters show how silly it is to stereotype. It puts a real face on people. It is comedy without blurring the human characteristics of people. You should watch it.

@andruchina I am peruvian... and I couldn't care less about that joke. I was like: "oh okay... whatever... MOVING ON!" and the next second I was laughing my butt off at the next joke. I LOVE THIS show. I'm half asian and half latina and yes, they do use a lot of stereotypes but they do that too in every other show in every other country. So I really don't care.

@celinealltheway People in my country get super mad when a foreigner "insults" them, but whenever I happen to watch a second of a peruvian TV show (which is very rare cause they all kinda suck) they use these horrible stereotypes on chinese people, and white people and on their own peruvian people and no one says anything. They only notice these things when it's someone else doing it. When it's them, they laugh. Hypocrites. And yes, I'm saying that about my OWN country. :)

well Peruvians only cared when they mocked them, I think its wrong cuz they only mocked latins/asians. like i love family guy but that show makes fun of EVERYBODY and EVERY group you know. How was she racist to latin men? I'm colombian and I don't want to stereotype but chauvinism is very rooted in our culture and many, many men are sexist and chauvinistic. Am I racist? No. I belong to that culture. Do I hate chauvinism and will I be willing to criticize it? you bet.

I have a friend who tells me she could never date a black man but she can't quite explain why. She just doesn't feel attracted to them. Is this racism? Maybe... I dunno. Complicated topic.
