One thing is to be a warrior (as a 'profession'), another thing is to go to war when the Jewish People is in danger. This are completely different things. They didn't spend time in gym, therefore, they cannot look like Hulk Hoogan. They had no armors or even advanced weaponry. They were simply priests who went to battlefield against the mightiest world power at the time.
