There's got to be some sort of context here, right? I mean, even McCain wouldn't just say THAT, would he?

The context was, McCain said the pundits have counted him out 3 times, but the campaign bounced back and "we fooled 'em"
It's paraphrased, but that was generally the context: You think I'm done, but I'm not over yet.
