  • Well that steel rod in the femur brings back memories. I had a car back out in front of my bike in '77. Had the Stainless rod put in, a year later they took it out. HaHa, They used a slide hammer to remove mine(guess they were out of vise grips, LOL). I think I'll be sick now! haha! Back then you could smoke in your hospital room!

  • What happened to that pin?

  • Motorcycling never killed Barry, he was killed by cigarettes at 52. Give them up you mugs.

  • Hey - cool video! Those surgeons sure aren't gentle!

Mike, are you related to John Zwetsloot, heavy metal guitarist, or is "Zwetsloot" a very common Scandinavian name?

  • where is this from a dvd

  • HE IS THE MAN

  • hmmm,hes a legend on a bike,but a pedophile off it.

  • care to elaborate re ped' comment?

  • What a huge loss to motorcycling. Barry Sheene was probably one of the only English riders to become a house hold name because of his high profile status. Even Hailwood and Agostini didn't have the attention he had. In latter years Australians were lucky to have him because he helped several good riders onto the international scene through his contacts. He was just a good bloke who told it as he saw it.

  • ewan mcgregor hahha

  • R.I.P. Barry Sheene. Todays Gibernaus could learn a thing or two from the LEDGEND .

  • Before commenting about what caused Barry Sheene's Daytona crash, read his autobiography. The casing from the tyre came apart and wedged between the swingarm and wheel. Watch the video and you can see it happenWhen he said he dipped the clutch , what he meant, and its in the autobiography, was that he thought the motor had seized and he whipped in the clutch, hoping tp coast to a stop.

  • RIP Barry,miss you man.

  • have you?? i lost a few mates at tt and barry was f1 standard he saved himself for that ok

  • fuck you, he thought it was dangerous and who are you to judge someone if they dont want to race are you a legend? no is barry sheene? yes is he possibly one of the greatest riders who ever lived? yes your comment is shit you complete and utter useless cunt

  • Are you racing on the isle of man?

  • the tire didnt explode the engine ceased up as his words were i dipped the clutch and it didnt do anything. the tire exploded cos of what happened

  • rreading this upside down?? oh k

  • This guy can't even spell Barry's name right, and there's a picture of his helmet with the name on it in the video. Jesus christ; pay attention before submitting a video

  • give him a break for fuck sake, you should be pleased the vids on here

  • son of a bitch. the video ends just as im getting into it. :|

  • bloody hell

    RIP B

  • rip baz . u will be missed

  • Opinion is still split on the cause of the crash. Some say the tyre delaminated, thanks to the high speeds and a tyre technology struggling to keep up with bike development. Another theory is that the gearbox seized, though the former theory seems the most popular.

Thanks for the upload, but could you at least spell the great man's name correctly? That's "Sheene".

  • tyre inflated through heat,,,,,,,,and hit swinging arm,,,,,,,,,didnt have radials then

  • the tire exploded. i just saw it in the video. thats what happened. case closed.

  • over a year later and the son of a bitch STILL didn't fix the title and change the name. lol

  • What caused the crash, my first thoughts are a tyre blowout/puncture at the rear wheel, I could be wrong of course. Anybody know for certain?

  • sheene, and the tr750,,,,,,,,,,,a team nev4er forgotten, unbeatable in there day,,,,,,,,,,,125hp of flexy flying unhandle-able machine till bazzer tamed it........the best team that ever was,,,,,,,,1970s at its best.............an era not forgotten,,,two strokes at there best,,,,,,,,,and i was there........cheers mate,,,,,,,,steve nunn

  • Holy CRAP! I became a moto GP fan in about 1979. I knew something of this accident, but never realized how severe it was.
