  • This tank is much more than a hobby haha it's badass.

  • Thats one bad ass jag!

  • you should get a cichla temensis or peacock bass, its american and a cichlid it would look great in there

  • I just wanted to say your tank is phenomenal! I've watched your vid about 10+ times and honestly could watch over and over again. I'm fairly new to the hobby, about 6 months in, and you've inspired me. I upgraded to a 125 for the moment and have American Cichlids (GT, RT, JAG, Midas, Jack Dempsey, and a Honduran). Cen't figure out how to get my large pieces of drift wood to sink though...any suggestions? Either way keep it up and I look forward to seeing more updates.

  • @twizted2334 Thanks for the kind words. The only thing you can do is to keep soaking the timber. I have had some pieces that took over a month to sink.

  • what kind of water changes do you do on this tank? certainly not weekly or monthly...

  • @LOUIEACES I do them fortnightly.

  • @greenterra lol smart ass.

  • Best cichlid tank ever seen on the tube - incredible

  • This is my favorite tank and video on youtube. All my favorite fish, amazing tank, great song. Well done man, seen the tank build too, awsome man.

  • Great fish.

What kind of lighting do you use ?

    cheers.

  • @michaelSprung 18000k Powerglos

  • @greenterra, cheers mate, appreciate the tip. Amazing fish !

  • @greenterra May I mention he's a photography and that lighting probably costed a fortune. lol.

  • @Yeueow Powerglos are just fluorescent bulbs. They cost about $40-$50 a bulb here but they worth every penny.. I only run 3 at the front of this tank.

  • Beautiful fish! So nice to see a giant aquarium that is not over-stocked.

  • awesome vid

  • WHOA 800G DREAM TANK

  • WOW, man. Beautiful tank, beautiful fish. Just wow.

  • how big is your GT? mines a year old and approx 8 inches

  • Nice Tank mate. Really like it!! its the kind of set up and fish i like.

would be lovely to see a decent size Dovii in there!! or half sized Umbee!

  • You accomplish my dream!!!! Thanks for showing your fish, their great!

Do they get along? Where did you get your red terror? Are all of them still alive?

  • @Spino3expect1896 Thanks. They are all alive and doing well. The festae was an lfs pick up.

  • You accomplish my dream!!!! Thanks for showing your fish, their great!

  • how old is the green terror?

  • @habfan197306 approx 18mths

  • how old is the green terror?

  • Did u buy all of it ? i WISH i could have a tank with all that fishs :)

  • @MrZunniez I built the tank. See my "800+ gallon plywood and fiberglass aquarium build" video.

  • AWSM frnd glad to see them still healthy keep it up

  • @damafiafz Thanks.

  • PUT A COUPLE BLACK PACU :P

  • @harveeymon They are illegal here... A shame as at least 1 would be e great addition.

  • speechless...

  • nice tank. huge jag, i used to have a bunch a few years ago. my biggest was only about 10" but its bottom 2 fangs were around 3-4mm visible when it closed its mouth. never seen another jag with fangs like that have you???

  • This vid with that song gets listened to at least 2 times a day for the last 6 weeks since finding it, Greenterra. Thanks for turning me onto this song, and posting your sick tank to it for all our enjoyment. -Cookie*420

  • @sk88rat Glad you liked it Cookie :)

  • What is your large black and white fish? After watching your vid and updates I'm thinking of goig this route with my 375. I had oscars and dempseys but you variety is killer! Love it!

  • @grassyknoll182 The big guy is a Parachromis managuensis. Thanks for the comment.

  • Hey man.... Youre tank is awsome, but dont you think it would look even better with a Jack dempsey or Arrowana. Those fish would be cool in this tank ty for posting this video and have a nice day

  • @Rainingbullets123 Adding a silver has been on my mind.

  • you should do an update plz.

  • @TheFishfrog This vid is only 5 weeks old. A new vid every month would get a bit monotonous.

  • hey Greenterra im interested in how to maintain a stable temperature for your fish.

Because its outdoors and it's huge, what heating method do you use? and how do you cool down the hot QLD heat?

  • @DonnnixD I am only running 2 x 300W heaters in the sump/filter. They keep up to it easily. The tanks thick sides really help to hold in the heat. I place a quilt over the top in winter and that has been more than enough even while the ambient air temp was only 2 degrees Celsius. In summer, I let it do what it want's. The larger volume stops the tank temp from rising too fast so it only seems to raise a couple of degrees on the hottest days.

  • GreenTerra- After watching the video for 4 times, I have to comment. I could only hope to have such a killer setup with great specimens like yours. I'm a big fan of the black backgrounds/bottoms and your tanks illustrates exactly why- it brings out the colors of the fish more. Absolutely beautiful tank and fish...and good song too!

  • @sk88rat Thanks for the kind words. It is appreciated.

  • why did u go with sand in this tank it would have looked awesome or was it just to much work with such a big fish load?

  • @TheFishfrog Bare bottom is much easier to maintain.

  • Sorry to hear you lost a couple , Trimac was a beauty

  • @justpgraham thanks mate

  • Perfect ! Huge fish in perfect condition , you have all the displays and attitude with none if the destruction . But when that RT gets same size as Jag you may be in trouble mate lol

  • how much do u think each of your fish are owrtg? i think u have over 5oo dollars worth of fish

  • i came across a cool lookind cichlid today at a local fish store and had some Questions the pet store ppl couldnt answer. this cichlid is called a 5 star general and i was wondering how big do they get and how aggressive are they and one more Q coulda 10inch dovii go with a 10 inch red devil and a10inch black belt i was told the black belt could kill the dovii and the red devil could too.

  • @TheFishfrog Never kept one. I think they get to around 6-7" and are meant to be pretty aggressive too. There are a few members on Mosterfishkeepers that have them so maybe jump on there and ask?

As for your other question. The RD, BB and Dovii are all capable of killing each other. It comes down to individual temperament. This mix is realistically only doable in very very large tanks. I have already removed a BB and a dovii from my 800g due to aggression.

  • @greenterra thx and that managuase couldnt keep the bb orthe dovii under conrtol he looks like he could kill anything he needs to. how old is?

  • @TheFishfrog It is not the jag I was worried about. I couldn't tell you his age. He was reasonably large when I picked him up. The rest have been growing out for about 14 mths now.

  • @greenterra how old was your last one or did u do the same?

  • did u buy your managuases that big or did u grow them and how long did it take to do that?

  • does your tank creat alot of algae and do u have plecos to keep it down? were did u get wood that big i got some for my 30gal and my texas and his fry love it.

  • Your Managuense is HUGE!!,,,,,,all your fish are amazing,,,great work

  • @vagasduke Thanks.

  • INCREDIBLE!

  • Dang really? That's sucks, your lei was the nicest I have ever seen. How about getting silver or black aros!

  • @Coltons350z I am thinking silver at present.

  • what size is the gt?

  • @28rampage Have never measured him. The jag is closer to the 16" mark now so you can compare to him..

  • awesome vid, suprisingly the gt looks the most aggressive in there but i love the way the jag shows everyone who's top dog..

  • @28rampage Yeah, the jag is definitely the undisputed king. Considering the GT is the smallest in there, he has some nuts about him.

  • I just love your Midas/RD.

Where is the other Midas and your Trimac?

  • @aequidens88 I took the other midas and mannny out. As for the trimac, see my reply to Coltons350z .

  • Comment removed

  • @greenterra Wow that's really too bad, that Trimac was awesome

  • @aequidens88 Such is fish keeping sometimes. We can't win them all.

  • MONSTER!!!!!

  • @Gr8KarmaSF ThanksGr8

  • where is the leichardti?

  • @Coltons350z Unfortunately, it decided it didn't like the trimac the other night. I woke up to a lei with a broken bottom jaw and a badly beat up trimac. I had to put the lei down and unfortunately the trimac didn't survive so the tank is looking a little bare at present. Such is fish keeping sometimes.
