  • Yes, we want her proportions to remain the same.

  • I like her boobs :P

  • If you want to know how this works, search for SIGGRAPH Image-re-sizing. It uses the same technology.

  • 29 people use Microsoft Paint

  • @puneet256 your selection was too large! make sure you have enough background image, and that your subject doesnt take up too much of the picture. :)

  • when i use content-aware, i get this pop-up

"Could not fill because there's not enough data to fill it in a Content-Aware manner."

    What to do ?!?!?

  • Thank you so much.

  • I tried this with this very picture but the trick is use the marque tool to select from the centre pillar backwards then use content aware scale and the front half stayed the same and the back half stretched with the rear wheel keeping it's shape and it turned out real well. What a brilliant tool.

  • '' she looks a lot skinnier''

    ''she looks terrible''

just like everything you do xD

    joke

  • CS4?

  • @zitzerman Look at the date on the video dude. Common sense.

  • how come they don't have selection tools that work like this?

  • All the proportions of the female are intact

  • why?? when i select all i press ctrl+t so its free transform and then i go in edit but i can't choose the Content-Aware Scaling it's showing gray in edit tab

  • how is that your photoshop application has no bg to it? what i mean is, you are working on photoshop on ur desktop while most Photoshop users have that gray wall in the bg of Photoshop.

So do you know how to remove that gray background?

  • @MohanABK That's how it is on a mac. Are you working on windows? I think you can jimmy rig it to be the same in windows by pulling your project windows out of photoshop and then switching the PS window to the non-full screen and pulling the bottom of PS all the way to the top to see your desktop. I know this is how it is on XP, but you really don't want to do this because it takes up tons of resources. Don't know about win7, but graphics applications on a mac in terms of GUI are more pleasant.

  • why cant you just crop it...

  • @LShuki52 if your cropped it, you would be getting rid of some of the pic

  • content-awascale are just amazing, helps out big time

  • i appreciate your tutos

  • not fair he has the rhe full CS :(

  • Help! im stuck in 3:06 i dont know how to use the history brush tool =/

  • @thelordsbaby under the brush tool is a history brush tool, remember to be on the right layer

  • no sir, dont like it.

just separate the back ground and foreground the old fashioned way

...this is so prone to mistakes

  • ichi trichi

  • HAAX

  • that hummer looks like ballsack lol

  • it doesnt show me that option on my tablets of edit i can not select it

  • @MrVenivici To all who have "Content-aware Scale" grayed out, you need to rasterize the layer first. I just found this out. Thumbs up this comment, for all the people who keep asking.

  • @cargodudeMT thank you so much

  • I like to stretch the pics - i looks better than a oversize door

  • @Garone1998 NO NO NO you are not allowed to stretch it if you have content aware scale.

  • how do u put the ruler there?

  • @eksell2 If you're using PC, select the View tab and click on Rulers. Also, CTRL+R is the hotkey.

  • what? i have CS4 and i can't find this option?

  • @LittleMissNoFace It's brand new to CS5, just came out a couple months ago.

  • @n0rthav3n oh that makes more sense, just in the comment it sed CS4, thnks.

  • u got the best tutorials dude best ever

  • very nice tutorial man, you explained it all simple and easy thank you i was having trouble understanding thistool

  • good work.

  • im content-aware lover

  • Fail on the building in the back look at the windows lol it got distored

  • @gs2519 I wouldn't call that a fail. These Content Aware features aren't an end all feature that does everything for you. It's a tool to assist you, not do the job for you. As you see, the vehicle needed some touch ups, as would anything else you use these features with, including those windows.

  • thnx

  • Content-Aware changed my life!!

  • damn the front door of that hummer is so big!

  • we all love Content-Aware

  • not a big one.

    simply crop from right!

  • @aseptic404 It's also on CS4. Notice that the video is from 2008, smartypants.

  • how to i get those squares?!

  • uhm, lol, you kinda messed up big. This is cs5.

  • @willpower101 I'm retarded. nvm.

  • doesn't this user realize that cs5 is the one that came out with content-aware?

  • @89leatherneck

Dont you realise that CS5 came with content-aware FILL, this is content-aware SCALING... they're 2 very different features and i assure you Content Aware Scaling was in CS4.

  • ummm i go to edit and i can't access content aware if i have no selection... BUT THIS GUY CAN.

Oh i also can't have that vertical green line.

So i paid photoshop only for halp i wanted!!!!!

  • @toocoolforu half

  • thats what i was thinking, but that would take out parts of the picture that maybe you would want to keep.

  • plus you cant crop a picture bigger

    haha

  • @RyEBreaD757 Um yes you can but it fills with clear or background color

  • "A lot skinnier"

    "terrible"

    CHUBBY LOVER

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • @dingumfCallofDuty I think by a lot skinnier he means her breast got smaller. Thats why he was so sad saying "Terrible terrible terrible!"

  • Great Tut! Awsome!

  • this is SO awesome *-*

My car hard huge wheels also

  • My. gudness,, its amazing, luks like a miracle

  • actually she looked better skinnier

  • How could the content aware scaling engage the range of stretch?

  • How do I get that blue line?

  • Drag a line from the ruler on the left

  • You call it a Guide, drag a line from the ruler on the left side to get a vertical line, if ruler is not visible, check the option in window menu (in photoshop) . do the same from the ruler above to get a horizontal line.

  • Super!!1

  • great tut man. ty

    vIFCV2spKtg

  • awesome!! i need that shit xD

  • how do they do that????

  • algorithms that you can't even imagine

  • :) THANKS :)

  • how the hell can do that? great...

  • thanks

  • thats hummers new desgin the doors are so long that the fat arsed people who buy them can actually get in them.

    thanks for the demo man!!

  • thanks man

  • great... i already knew this feature , yes its an amazing one thx for share your experience expert !

  • Nice that Photoshop finally got this feature too!

I have used it on GIMP and digiKam and just enjoyed it.

This algorithm allows user to add/remove "weight" of the wanted areas. User just paints areas what she or he wants to be reserved as original or what can be scaled. So there is no need to retouch image afterwards. In this image, you could just paint the middle line to be reserved and it would stay such. Same thing for door handels and lines and they would not move. This is image carving.

  • when I use the history tool, it colors places white please help imediatley. School project...
