Also for you guys who call this dancing and kid games, its not a good argument talking about how they are not in ufc. Most MONKS don't go to those sweaty hump loving overated tv shows to use kung fu for money, unfortunatly some have to.

Kung Fu is the oldest existing martial art and practically ALL martial arts finds its roots from kung fu. So yes martial arts was "started among them" dumb shit.
@botchalism wushu style was teatched to the shaolin monks (who were weak because of all the meditation) by the indian Bodhidharma---> There isn't an oldest.
Before insulting people you could at least verify your information.

Out of respect for those of us trying to keep the real traditions alive, please call this performance wushu. Or martial based dancing. Don't leverage off of the well deserved reputation of classical Shaolin with your entertaining interpretive dance.

Sifu Master David only has a school in California. You'll have to look around for schools in Texas b/c I'm not familiar with the state. :( Or...you could just come to CA for lessons! :D

Actually...you're right. Most kung fu is taught so that it's more like a dance routine. Students aren't shown and don't practice the practical uses for kung fu nor is it often shown in performances. I'm actually a student at Pure Shaolin Kung Fu and Sifu Master David (he's the head guy there) is really good about showing us why we do certain moves. Maybe I should stick a vid up on him demostrating... :D
I usually do not like kung fu, because I think there are more practical arts out there for combat or self defense. But I must admit I really like your video clip. It's very cool and exciting to watch. I hope to see more. Thanks for posting.
Well, really, if you think about it, one of the only real martial arts that would work in today's society would probably be Krav Maga. Don't get me wrong, I love all martial arts, especially Ninjitsu and Kung fu (I don't practice the arts, I just think they're awesome), but those were fighting techniques developed for their time that simply aren't practical in today's society.
In general I'd agree with you. It really depends on how and who teaches Kung Fu. Sifu David teaches self defense using Kung Fu all the time. You're invited to come by and take a peek if you're in the area so that you can see what I mean. ;D cheers!
That's of course YOUR opinion... I'm merely using contemporary/modern music, which in MY opinion is more appealing to both myself and a modern audience. Modern music is also art, not circus music. Just depends on how tolerant or open minded you are.
