@Teranex It's a bit more complicated than that! Not only concerning the law but also concerning the theory of state. The fact that there is a common basis of laws doesn't make it a state. The EU is a supranational organisation and nothing more.

At last there is no organization as a government but only an appointed and not elected commission, which doesn't hold the power to enforce its decisions on it's own but has to avail the member states' enforcement for it. Even the missing of one feature denies the quality of a state. The EU holds some sovereignity given to it by its members but that doesn't make it souvereign on it's own.

Which can force the state to fulfill its obligations. @Teranex Außerdem steht der Europäische Gerichtshof nicht generell über den nationalen Gerichten, er steht in bestimmten Materien als entscheidende Instanz, dessen Urteile dann von den nationalen Gerichten beachtet werden müssen, die im konkreten Fall entscheiden. Das Endurteil spricht auch dort also wieder das nationale Gericht. Wie gesagt, juristisch ist das alles etwas komplizierter als man als Laie denkt.

@Teranex um diesen Teil dann auch noch zu beantworten: EU-Recht, auch wenn es diesen Begriff so nicht gibt, steht nur in konstitutionellen oder von Mitgliedsländern eingeräumten Aspekten über nationalem Recht. Meist steht es gleichrangig neben dem Recht der Mitgliedsstaaten bzw. hat einen sog. Anwendungsvorrang. Im Gegensatz zum deutschen Parlament hat das EU Parlament lediglich ein Einspruchsrecht gegen die Kommission, diese ist aber nicht auf eine Parlamentsmehrheit angewiesen.

@Teranex Die Kommission wird im Übrigen von den Mitgliedsstaaten vorgeschlagen, unabhängig von Mehrheiten im EP. Was eine zumindest indirekte demokratische Legitimation wie in Deutschland auf EU-Ebene ausschließt. Genau dort liegt der Unterschied. Wir wählen unseren Kanzler, um dessen Regierung es sich handelt nämlich indirekt durch unseren Bundestag.

@omarxd94 thanks for the compliments about Canadian cities, Mexico has a lot of potential. it is normally rich in resources but because of the large population it has it might need to keep them rather than exporting them like other countries with less people. the bric list that gives the 2050 rankings 9.5 trillion for Mexico is goldman sachs. it has lots reputation since then. not sure about the accuracy of the rank but the data is already off,even with recession data for 2010 was understated
