  • Good playing and clean technique. HOWEVER! I do remember my old vinyl record of Brouwer playing this song himself... The tempo was slightly faster...

  • Lovely pictures and composition.

  • Somewhere, someday I saw the master play this composition himself....Anybody know it is here onYT?

  • There's a beautiful ginko in a park I once lived by, A huge thing... It dropped most of its leaves within a day or two... creating a spectacular yellow doughnut around its trunk.

Thanks for reminding me of its glory.

    Take Care

    Love

    Louie

  • @UPTHElRS

    Appreciative for your listening.

  • Hello, this is very good played but if you want a really expressive piece you need to higher a liiiitle bit the tempo, and as some said, add more dynamics imo

    Keep tuned!!

  • And oh, btw are you using standard tuning??

I think is higher, could you please say me with A frequency are you using(440, 450??)

    Thanks for posting this video

  • I guess this is a little lower than nomal 440.

tuning machine was in a low battery and was not in the correct pitch of 440.

  • Thanks for listening

    Thanks

This is my slow version. Not enought practice and would play a bit faster as you said.

Aren't there some comment telling too much dynamics in it. I think this version got a little excessive dynamics too.

  • @BlueJazzyClassic i really like this version and find it more expressive to me it empathises with my spirit more than the fast versions

  • @t0m4t3

    That's what I'm thinking too.

    Sometimes slow sometimes little faster.

    Appreciative for yr listening.

  • @t0m4t3 i find this better expressed to me than some other faster ones. thats just me maybe

  • Wonderful background photos!

  • Great piece! I thought it was a bit too rythmic. Sounds like it could use some dynamics. Anyway - great job:)

  • Thanks for the comments.

  • I am sorry but because I have a slow connection outside the city my postings sometimesmay be missing words. It would be nice to be able to edit the txt in postings afterwards :)

I am writing the study guide at the moment. I think I will release it as a CD ROM with all text and music examples in PDF form.

    RL

  • My new book is a detailed practice method for the practice of both hands including the study of possible finger combinations. using this method of study, my student Clare learned during her lesson on Wed the complete study #10 by Leo Brouwer. At the end of the one hour lesson she played the complete etude at a slow tempo my memory!

All my other students are obtaining similar results.

    RL

PS I have a very slow connection at the moment. I meant to thank all musicians in Cuba etc.

  • Dear Raymond

Where is the book available on online market?

  • At the moment I am busy reading this great book and also writing a new book of studies techniques I use in my practice and teach to my students. The book is:

"The Music of Life" Inayat khan. Written by a great musician.

  • I will take account on that book. Thanks

  • This comes to a surprise to me and it is an honor.

I am glad and happy that my work serves as inspiration to others. This, Music, what we do is a very noble and worthwhile Endeavor. I take is opportunity to every artist I know in Cuba and around the world who has been an inspiration in my dedication to Music.

Please I recommend this book to everyone , it explains many things and the importance of what we do.

Once again thank you for this and your work.

    tu amigo, RL

  • Loved it from the opening note, last note, and all the notes in between. Good job! Liked the photos too, a lot like New England. The picture of the multi colored sky and clouds, with the silhouette of the house, was especially nice.

  • Hello yarods

I always you vid. very symbolic music and furthermore video concepts.

It took me whole one month to practice and leave recording like this. No more playing this this year to reserve for fall in 2009.

    My warmest regards,

    BlueJazzyClassic

  • Hi BJC, that is some expression you put into this piece, very solemn, fantastic! Brouwer sometimes get's criticism of not being melodic enough. This piece is just about the contrary, beautiful melody.

I bow deeply again for your artistry, great music making combined with these atmospheric autumn pictures.

My best and looking forward to the next one.

    Vabejas

  • Merci beaucoup mon amie

I practice this around 200 times starting June. And I see althought skill-wise you are progression day per day. You got better artistry that I might have. I see how you gonna complete you intrepreaton 1~2 yrs later. Next I may post La Paloma

  • Man I saw the note of Takemitsu it si not easy to read the note due to his complex impressonism kinda notation. and require very difficult left hand for all 12 song of guitar arr. works, So I bought 20 song of Summertime version. I will dedicated this to you upon completion. Is that alright friend
