  • Filmlook is a product of many elements concerning perspectiv, light, "story" , choosing the right set etc. It´s definitly not just a PostProIssue :-P

  • what people don't understand is that your camera has to be recording in 24 fps. just clicking the setting wont make it look that way...

  • nice oceans music

  • Check out my channel . I made a video cinematic film look

  • Sony Vegas Movie Studio

  • Comment removed

  • how can you take that nice high quality video and make it look so bad?!

  • Wow... All He Did Was Make It Wide Screen and Give it more colour.. The thing that editors could do before they even knew about editing.

  • Great ! Thank you ! :)

  • that's great video man!! btw, where did you get the BG music? thank you

  • Oh and its a Hauppauge 1212 and Sony Vegas Pro 10

  • I record PS3 gameplay with a Hauppauge HD PVR but why do some video's work in Vegas while others freeze or crash my PC? They are all typically the same file size size. I love vegas but damn im getting annoyed with it.. Plz help meh

  • @ZombieAnusPounder might be night supported.

  • @quangluu96 All video files are recorded with the same settings but some work while others crash my Vegas Pro 10. Its weird. Fuck my life lol

  • @ZombieAnusPounder try, premiere pro, i find it much better and render takes a few minutes( depend on codec)

  • No way! A Vegas tutorial that uses actual video rather than some footage from a shoot-em-up X-box game.

  • 1:30 it looks like you posterized it

  • i think i need sony vegas pro.. :)

  • /watch?v=Vtg-P7IVR3k THis is a better one :) hehe my opinoin

  • you forgot to turn resample off

  • You choose 24/25 fps if the video was recorded at 24/25 fps

  • It's actually 24 fps but nice vid :D

  • @elweropeliculero it's Sony Vegas 10 (Maybe pro)

  • What program is this?! Sony Vegas? Vegas Pro 9... 10?

  • can you please respond. i can't render videos in HD, please tell me whats needed to do that, i don't know is it my pc's fault or am i doinf anything wrong, when i render my videos they are kinda in slow mo and the sound is messed up too, i set fps and dimenions the same

  • @DudeIPlayCoD Sounds like you have too high a bit rate or you are playing back uncompressed HD video. What format are you rendering playback for? Blue-ray or YouTube? To play back on a PC in Media Payer, you need to make sure you render in an compressed format - for upload to YouTube, in SV Pro 9 I use the Sony AVC template (.mp4) - bitrate 6000000, 1280x720p, frame rate 25fps (if source is PAL, or 29.97fps if NTSC). Works fine, and plays back on PC in Media Player no problem.

  • Don't forget to flush when you're done!

  • @bbcasting lol

  • To get the 'film look' first, there are many different film looks, depends on the atmosphere, second. A semi Decent camera and camera skills. Don't come here expecting to get your phone video to look like Avatar, this video is a little less descriptive of what to do and its his opinion. :\

  • @Shlycer These are just some easy steps for beginners to create a cinematic look to their videos.

Of course they didn't use a cheap handycam, sony vegas, random cropping and simple CC for Hollywood movies. -.-

  • @tomfreerun Dont listen to negative comments man! :)

i just got Sony Vegas and have no idea how to use. This video is very helpfull to me. Thanks ALOT!

  • @tomfreerun True, but they sure don't use that HDV 720-25p resolution for Hollywood movies as you said in the first step. They use Full HD resolution (1920x1080) at 60 fps (progressive).

  • @jcw3032 As I mentioned before: it how to create a 'film look'.. not 'how to make a hollywood movie' -.- oh and btw they use a 4K resolution.

  • @jcw3032 hollywood movies use either 24 or 30 fps, only time they use faster fps is for slow mo

  • @aceguitar101 Oh that's right I was absolutely wrong there lol. Film makers prefer to use 24fps for a more authentic film 'look'. Plus its easier to edit the footage. I've always worked with 60 frames but i don't make hollywood movies.

  • @jcw3032 No one should ever use 60 fps, as it looks really weird and unnatural. 24 fps is the industry standard, and it has been for decades. Also, for the purpose of this video, 720p would be sufficient since he's just helping low budget people who are just making online videos.

  • @MutatedProductions That depends. I actually need my compositions to look 'video-ish'. Don't be restricted to what you think you know, you should experiment with different things and see what works best for you.

  • @jcw3032

Actually, 99% of Hollywood films shoot at 24 fps. They shoot at 25 fps for films in Europe (where this YouTuber is obviously from - hence the menu language in Vegas), so this would be the European equivalent to a Hollywood film. And film cameras don't shoot at 1920 x 1080. Traditional 35 mm film gets converted to a 2K stream, and 70 mm film can get converted to a 4K stream. High end digital cameras (like in Social Network and The Hobbit) shoot to hard drives at 5K.

  • AE is way much eaiser

  • It's A trick theirs surveys to fill out! you better off at the torrent sites instead.

  • which version is it?

  • You set your shadows to red, and your brights to blue? I think you should be going for the other way around.

  • @P4INKiller this eheheeh...

  • the movies are using 24FPS because the cameras are orginly shots in 24fps no because they tramsform it on sony vegas pro

  • Yeah, that really looks like film. Professional film, that is. -.-

  • yeah theatrical film is in 24fps... also changing your settings to 24fps in your editor will result in dropped frames. What you really need if you wish to get a true cinematic 24fps is you have to buy a camera that will shoot in 24fps otherwise it will have to get rid of the extra frames.

  • Where are the Zombies???

  • @jmu303 thanks for the correction. i was certain myself that theatrical film was at 24 fps. where else can i look to, to acheive this effect? Thanks Todd

  • Actually since most consumer cameras thend to over saturate and over contrast it looks better if you reduce contrast since high sat + high contrast makes the footage look really tacky and video-ish

  • Hello Buddy

i have an question i have an sony hvr a1 but how do you get the best quality vids when you recording on tape and how do you have to use the settings to get the best quality off vids

    hope someone could help me

    thanks

  • Also, Adding some contrast adds a more "cinematic" feel, just don't add too much.

  • don't ever crop video to look "cinema". stick to normal frame unless your using PLor cinema lenses

  • SONY VEGAS PRO...ROCKZ!

SONY HD-CAMZ ROCK, SONY MAJOR MOTIONS PICTURES ROCK...GET THE POINT, A ONE-STOP SHOP, FROM CAMERAS, TO EDITING SOFTWARE, TO PC'S TO MULTI-MEDIA AND ON THE BIG SCREEN...SONY IS A HUGE PLAYER...THEY DON'T AGGRESSIVELY MARKET SONY VEGAS PRO...SIMPLY BECAUSE THEY DON'T HAVE TO...P.S...IT'S ALSO THE VERY BEST AUDIO DAW SYSTEM OF ANY VIDEO EDITING SOFTWARE BAR NONE...JUST MY 2012 CENTS, AND NOBODY ASKED ME :o)

  • You can also right click the media if the video is shaky and select "Stabilize Media" and play around with the settings until you like it. It works really well.

  • ITS SONNY VEGAS PRO

  • siiiick

  • Your school uses it, no wonder why it crash's lol

  • This software is crap. My school bought it for video editing on our beastly PC (3.19Ghz quad core, 12GB ram etc) and it can't handle anything. Software kept crashing and freezing. Now use Adobe Premier Pro. Runs without a hitch. Stay away from sony vegas!!!!

  • @JLDJUK adobe premiere is not exactly a bastion of stability. quite the opposite

  • @JLDJUK you did something wrong then bro.

  • @JLDJUK your doing it wrong..

  • Comment removed

  • As true as this video is, I feel that all 3 steps make the footage inferior to the original.

  • Oh jeez...changing the frame rate in post from the ever so common 29.97 to 24fps does not create the same effect as capturing in real 24fps...I have a camera that shoots native 24p, 30p and 60p and I can tell you right now that changing 30p to 24p just makes it look choppy and "off". All your doing is dropping a frames every second so less information, you can try to change the frame rate with a program called Cinema tools (sp?) or Compressor 4 (which has limited use with that area).

  • Do you need to shoot the scene in 24fps? Or can you just render it to make it look like that? My camera shoots in 30 fps, Idk if I can lower it or not or how I could even do it, but I hope rendering it in 24fps fixes the problem?

  • @notlengthy you can film in 30 fps and edit it in 24 fps

  • Can you do a before and after please!!!!!!!!! I wanna see how it changed or if it did at all.

  • thanks man this really helped

  • what camera did you use?

  • Looks nothing like a movie.

And you're not going to get very far watching these videos either. Go and learn how to use the camera like a director.

  • The Pirate Bay, Here I come!

  • I fucking hate 25fps, I always record and render my stuff at 60.

  • this is really awesome! make more :)

  • SONG NAMe plz ???

  • what is the best option for rendering such a movie? i want to keep the file small with max quality. thanks

  • is that USA?

  • @tomfreerun, one question when i take a video and upload it on sonyvegas, you can see 2 black lines on the side...and when i get rid of it, my video just stretches. How did you get your video into full screen without getting the video stretched? (does it have to relate with how you set the camera?)

    Please reply

  • Nice Video

  • Meh...just ad some black bars and your good

  • ADMIN what ProGram IS this!?

  • I'll have to try this out before I shoot my movie :) But one question (abit noobish) is this possible within Adobe Final Cut do you know?

  • @ItsDuhMilkman23 Lol you can do even more then this with Final Cut pro, but for a simple answer, yes you can change it to 24fps and the color correction in Final Cut is amazing.

  • @MichaelCog Sweet :) Cheers for the help and of course the video :D

  • :o

  • Woooahhh!!!

  • And i also get a little box in the middle of the video that stays the same color when doing color correction?

  • How do you make it so all the effects work evenly with every clip?!

  • You are welcome man!many many thanks!you rock!

  • sony vegas is far best program, premiere is shit...

  • You Can Stabilized To ..

    It Looks More Better THEN..

Just If If You Shake It To Much It Will Lose Graphichs Because Its An Digital Zoom Only In The Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 10.0

  • nice subscribed thumbs up and further questions

  • Can vegas do as much as premiere pro? I am using premiere pro.

  • @myerslamski I use both and vegas is better I think

  • Thanks. I'm just starting my own videomaker channel and information like this is a great help to me. Cheers.

  • sony vegas

  • @MrDrak3f thank you

  • Ok, so 29.97 fps isn't that good, Europeans shoot at 25 fps and Americans at 24fps? Am I right?

  • @dragonlord0078 No, 24 FPS is like International.

  • @ThatGugaWhoPlay Actually @dragonlord0078 is right..

  • @tomfreerun But on After Effects/ Sony Vegas... tutorials, everyone says 30 fps is the default and you should leave it at 30 fps. But 24 fps is better right? What's actually the difference? Does it look more professional?

  • what program is this?

  • @415xJDM are you retarded?

  • @EriksXgaming Probably he is!

  • @415xJDM It's called windows movie maker -.-

  • Comment removed

  • @415xJDM Sony Vegas

  • @415xJDM sony vegas 9 or 10 i dont see

  • DUDE! this is SWEET!

  • @TheSilverWind You are truly appalling.

  • @oldVideoGamesChannel fear is the only element that pushes away pride. When I got scared in my stupid ego by the people teaching me, that's when I started learning. And I never stopped since. Appalling friends is what people need. Not cheerleaders. Cheers! :)

  • How did you make your "undertext" on 0:12?

  • This made my video look AWFUL.

  • what in 240? tell me

  • @ratanacambodai pixel...?

  • i wana watch in 240

  • @fbrikman download freemake video converter itl cut the file size down to like 30mb and converts to Full HD and settings that are easy to use and follow

  • Not

  • very nice. :)

  • sounds like a cheap porno music

  • @ThePivotPirate HAHA your right it does.

  • lol you can't use those steps for every video and there is much more you can do...

  • those are only small steps but for beginners (like me) it already helps a lot! thanks ^^

  • 4th step. get a 20 000 dollar camera.. lol

    thanks for the video! +Subed

  • your gamma's too warm

  • You should stabilize the footage too, makes it look waaay better :)

  • This seems waaay too simplified. Just because something's widescreen doesn't mean it looks Hollywood-style...

  • @Gewurzgurke You can't be that stupid,are you?

  • yay thanks for this it helps me a lot

  • Hollywood films are using 25 fps too.... XD

  • Got a new solution for you, download Magic Bullet, go in preset and clik on Hollywood Films.

  • @MisterSaroma Presets are the cheapest and most amateur way to get your job done.

  • @HBMHD well as long as you don't work in hollywood you stay an amateur ^^ since we don't have the big hollywood budget we do with what we have ^^

  • @MisterSaroma huh?., no, Professionalism (opposite of "Amateur") has nothing to do with Hollywood; i've seen many amateurs working on commercial blockbusters and dumb american movies; while there are professional people working on the real audiovisual art.

  • @EAfilms1000 thanks :)

  • video editing software did you use? please reply soon cause i want to see what i need in order to make good films :)

  • @DorianBelial Good films are good stories.

  • @bluedemoncmll thats true, i just wanted to see the software so i can sort out the the movie part for the stories :)

  • wtf I dont have Video FX, where is it

  • Looks cool

  • wow so fucking easy lol

  • cool

  • sorry but theres a freeware that dose better this and offers alot more, but this looks good though

  • @vwlover94 Freeware that's better than Sony Vegas? For the sake of amateur film makers everywhere, please elaborate.
