Actually, DID is caused by any childhood trauma too difficult to deal with.. I don't like how you say that a variety of things can cause it because the last thing I care to hear is a bunch of bullshit diagnosis...
whats a good video! my mom was abusive and wicked.the part when shes ties her hands on the piano reminds me of when my mom would scream her head off in the car and start beating me then I would open the window to let her voice out.I always squeeze the muscles in my ears to take her yelling.
She once slammed my stack of cd collections outside the window while driving recklessly and my purse too!
i hat emy "mother" she condones child abuse and child rape/torture...i hope she suffers in her later years for what she has done and same with my grandmother and all the other creeps..i hate them all......my sister is a loser for having her kids around these people who tortured me severly...i'm talking about satanic ritual abuse
Not due to birth defects. Torture, yes. War or painful medical treatment, yes. Trauma before age 5 or 6 when the imagination of a child can escape. Modern medicine allows for children to mostly painfree these days. As long as there is a parental support network to counteract the truama, then a child will be okay. It's when there is a rape by one parent, and the other denies
Very good video Dicey -glad you support your friend. I really wish people would understand but sadly most of society doesn't which is why people with DID have to hide it most times. Media oversensationalized it & shows the extreme spectrum of it like Sybil which frightens society. What society doesnt understand they fear. Most people who have DID don't fall into that far end of the spectrum & you would never know they have DID. Kudos for making the video which does not make fun of DID. Blessings
@TJRage16 Im glad you like it. It angers me that people put so much anger on people like this. Its not the best video but I made it for my college class. Sense then Ive watch the Three Faces of Eve and other things that would be a better example.
This is a good video and how wonderful you are so supportive of your friend. Not all of the information was accurate and Sybil isn't exactly the norm for the disorder. For more information, please check out the site. aninfinitemind
Thanks everyone. ^^ This is the first video Ive ever made like this. Next time I make a video I'll take all your thoughts into consideration. I never thought anything about this disorder until I met my friend and it makes me sad to think about all the abuse these people have went through and all the torched they get from society after they form the disorder. Just be kind to people like this it isnt their fault.
I have never heard of this disorder and was very informative and easy to follow and understand. The movie clips where good examples and Its crazy to think that so many people actually face this on a daily basis
Wow! I had no idea about this disorder! The video was very informative. It had a good mix of facts and emotional media segments. This video has inspired me to investigate the issue further. Thank you for this well built and informative video.
I was amazed with this video. I think you two did an amazing job! There was a lot of points made in the video, but I wish there were a few more facts. I kind of felt like some things were being repeated. But your transations were great, and It was an overall great job!
Very intresting choice of video. I had only heard of DID through movies and such, and I never knew the true causes behind it. I'm glad you took a literally unknown subject and shed some light on it. I liked the use of Sybil, but I would have liked a more credible interview, as in terms of "realness". Overall good movie, and great work. The only thing that needed work is the repetitive causes, I thought it was used too many times. Great job!
The video gave a lot of great info and it was very educational.I like that the maker of the video took something someone close to her was going through and made a great video.
Great video! I thought that it was very imformative. I had no idea that there was such a disease lurking and unfortunately many people are suffering from it. Job well done.
This was a very interesting topic. I found the presentation a bit too repetitive, though. There was a picture or two that was repeated twice and the causes were also repeated. I did, though, love the music. Maria Mena's music definitely fit this topic.
I really liked this topic. I thought it was very interesting and learned a lot of facts from it. Even if it does seem a little extreme like a lot are saying it at least shows how extreme the disease can get. Before this video I had never really thought much on DID but now i find it interesting. I like the music and pictures, I think it went really well with the video.
I love that you picked a topic that not many people know about, and I love the chose of pictures! Also, I didn't know that someone could have so many different personalities, so this was a very interesting video to watch.
The video you did on this topic was very good. It had a lot of information about DID that I didn't know. Sybil was a good person to use, but I think she was extreame. Overall the video was good.
I thank you for your feedback, however I do not agree. Have you tried to find a clean video of a person describing DID? It is hard to find a video that doesnt poke fun at DID. The reason I used Sybil was because she was not insane and the video is base on her real life. To me her struggle was extremely inspiring. Im sorry that you do not see it that way.
I liked the video but basing it on Sybil is not the best example. Sybil is a very extreme case, plus it has been made into what I like to call the "Hollywood" version of DID. Meaning Sybil, Three Faces of Eve and all the others that you see on tv...like people with DID that are murderers but don't know it because it's other alters blah blah blah....SOOOO unrealistic! I'm sure your friend isn't as extreme as Sybil. I hope you took this stuff into consideration while writing your paper.

WOW,I had no ideal that DID was as extreme in some cases. As many as 100 personalities in one brain. That sounds crowded. Good source with Sybil.
