i have being doing this for around 6 years witha 2.5 td jeep cherokee(xj type),never missed a beat, also run it on pure oil with no mods in the summer, runs perfect, just change your engine oil twice a year and filter 2 or 3 times a year and you will be fine, adding 100ml of acitone to a full tank will help also and a gallon of petrol to a full tank now and then to keep injectors in tip top, good glow plugs are a must duwe to the lower flash point of veg oil in cold weather....good vid
veg oil is traded on the stock market just like crude oil,bio desiel is becoming very popular, with many farms now being offered more money by bio diesel makers, some farms who have rapeseed crops have bio diesel plants on site now, this is forcing the prices up along with demand and supply...thats why a cupe of veg oil is costing a lot more and some food prices are going through the roof.
i think with the supermarkets catching on with it, they have put the price of oil up (typical) and now its working out at 75p per litre if i buy it in bulk 20 litre drums...but i mix diesel a little bit of diesel in with each gallon of vegetable oil, which doesnt really help to save, so at most it works out 7-8 quid cheaper per drum..than regular fuel
it runs really quiet, not as 'knocky' due to the veggie oil being a better lubricant than modern diesel is, this was taken with the door open and the window rolled down, you can here the birds singing louder than the engine!

@squirrel6158 You don't need to pump the pedal to start a diesel, it does not have a carburetor.
