damn its rare that people actually us the orthodox grip anymore! Great respect for that, i find it quite hard for my hand to keep up in that position, but this is a GREAT cover of a GREAT song :D
Dude it's me again MegaRunner99 and you sound just like Stewart Copeland, and the Police are probably my favorite band. Anyways good luck and Happy Druming!! :)
egh you probly shouldnt play traditional you left hand technique is ugly as hell and it sounds like crap when you try to play diddles with traditional
Well done mate. Awesome work and you've highlighted how good and under rated a drummer Stewart Copeland was (Weird guy though) especially his intricate high hat work.
The high hat and the rim shots bring me back to the days when the Police would tour.. great job. BTW, did you actually look at your watch to see what time it was... to funny.
nice drumming but thats some strange traditional grip you got goin on, which i guess this isnt drum corps so it doesnt have to conform to anything specific, but keeping your fingers on the stick does help you to play more complicated passages with ease
Anthony, I have been drumming to Stu's work for longer than you have been alive and all I can say about your work is WOW! I am MOST impressed! THANKS!
Hello. I have been playing guitar 20 years. I have just invested in an iMac with Logic 9, PLUS a Midi drum kit.
My favourite drummer is Stewart Copeland. He is AMAZING! Even more amazing than I realised as I have just started learning lol. It's BLOODY difficult ha ha.
if I were you, I'd play the live version of MIAB which is on the B side of the single (police star picture disc) : this is the greatest ever version of the track ; besides it's quite minimalist
Tune those things down a little, especially the snare drum. What are these drums, Pearl? Your cymbal collection is pretty serious. The bass drum could come up a little also. Nice natural feel though.
Thanks! It's a Tama set, and I like them dry and high! To each his own. Trust me- sounds better than what the camera records as well, but they are tuned much higher than what a typical drummer would tune.
hey man, great job, if you live anywhere near PA we're looking for a drummer and we def. cover this song, and more from the Police plus 311. Check out our channel, we do a cover of Walking On The Moon.
Thanks man! In terms of editing- iMovie on a Mac. I import from the camera, drag the song over from the iTunes sidebar when editing and lay it on top, then try my best to match it up in time and sound levels. Pretty simple- the hardest part is matching up my drumming to the song file though.
