Discussion: Tyrion=Targaryen?!?! (Spoilers!)

I think Tywin hates Tyrion because Tywin's wife died during Tyrion's birth, and Tywin loved her very much.

On the other hand wasn't there a Targaryen prince who suffered from dwarfism at some point? So dwarfism ran in the Targaryen family.

Tywin's relationship with all his children was quite weird when you think about it. He loathed Jaime, although far from as much as he hated Tyrion. And he could never really forgive Cersei for being born a woman.

But yeah, his relationship was weird w/ his children... I cant recall him hating Jaime though... only when Jaime kinda went against him.

My take on Tyrion has always been that he is Lann the Clever reborn. Lann the Clever being the mythical founder of House Lannister from the age of heros. And while it is dangerous to try to guess where GRRM is going with the story, i think it is Tyrion's destiny to rebuild house Lannister after everyone else is dead.

@MrLEGIOXIII Lol, I know who Lann is... I liked his story a lot. I would like that for Tyrion, to be in charge of house lannister. He is very clever and knows his finances and what not so its not like he would ruin the House at all. Plus, he does have Lannister blood regardless if he is half targ or not.

You can basically say any of your fav. characters can be Targ. Tyrion is actually the only one I truly want to be a Targ ever since his convo w/ Jon Snow about dragons bc it really touched me and I thought if anyone deserved a dragon, it would be him.

I am a fan of trying to figure how Tyrion could be something more than/other than a Lannister. I hate the Lannisters. They're pricks! But Tyrion's great, so I think it would be a crying shame for him to genuinely be of that twisted blood!

Targaryen however!? That is an interesting leap! I guess I just have to come back after I have a couple more books down to hear the arguments :)

OF COURSE Tywin hates Tyrion - this son had caused the death, of Tywin's BeLoved wife!!! Plus he is a shame for him, first due to his looks and then - by having hookers as his sole companions and brothels, as his # 1 most favourite places in the Universe...

It has NOTHING to do with SUCH a (sorry) nonsensical theory, about a "Targaryen blood"!!!

I think we would all be shocked if it turns out that Jon Snow isn't Targaryen, however I think GRRM has more Targaryen shocks up his sleeve. What I'm waiting to find out is that Aegon isn't Rhaegar's only child that Varys hid, rather he hid Rhaenys as well, in plain sight, if you will as Daenerys, which allows for Rhaegar's beliefs to be true that the 3 heads would be his children.

@RageDaug I dunno, I would be kinda glad if Jon Snow wasnt a Targ. But I love the R+L=JS thoery way too much. I dunno, there are lots of theories of Targs out there, so the only question is: which Targs will become the three heads.

Jon Snow is the Targaryen. His parents are Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen. Ned told everyone Jon was his bastard in order to protect him from Robert Baratheon's wrath. I don't think Tyrion is mostly because it was Tywin Lannister who ordered all the Targaryen children killed after King's Landing fell. If Tywin would have the other children killed, why not the stunted dwarf?

Interesting theory though.

There are bread crumbs all over the place to lead us to believe that Jamie & Cersie are Targaryen, however this doesn't disprove that Tyrion is. I don't believe you'll find any proof that Tyrion is not Targaryen, however there's a few subtle situations that lead me to believe he's all Lannister. Despite being told you're no son of mine, Tywin was very clear on why he made Tyrion temp-Hand of the King. Then you have the very perceptive Aunt Genna with her observations that Tyrion is Tywin's son

@RageDaug There actually is a quote of Cerie telling Jamie that Tyrion is Tywins son not Jaime. So that could be some proof for that theory. We also find in ADWD that on Tywins wedding day Areys slept w/ Johanna I believe. Unless I am mistaken.

@TheLadyKaylah That was Tywin's sister who told Jamie that in AFFC. Shortly after Jamie arrived at the Riverrun siege camp. In ADWD Aegon lamented to Tywin, at Tywin's wedding, that "Lord's First Rights" were no more. So Aegon made his intentions for Tywin's wife known, but he did not bed her at that time.

Everyone agrees that it Tywin quit being the hand of the king when he found out that the mad king was having an affair with his wife. What we dont know is how long it has been going on.

In Dance with dragons we found out that The mad king was in love with Tywin's wife even before Tywin Married her. It is possible that one or all of Tywins children where by the Mad King. There are those that believe Jaime and his sisters are the ones with Targ blood. They act like Targs too..Twinsest and Joffery

Tyrion=Targaryen is a pretty popular theory. I believe many folks will be surprised when they find out that Tyrion was Lannister all along and his brother and "sweet" sister are the Targaryens.
