Imagine if you went back in time and kill your parents or yourself. There would be a paradox meaning if you didn't exist due to the killing of yourself or parents than you would of never been able to travel back in time and do such a thing in the first place. Frank was guiding Donnie to do the exact same things in the Tangent universe so things would go along as they did before so it could be fixed. In the end Donnie dies meaning Gretchen and Frank would of never been killed.

Tear for Fears song "Mad World" is a perfect and fitting song for this movie.Started watching this movie and could not change the channel.The thought of a parallel universe and worm holes are very possible.This movie deserved all the awards it won.

You know what i love about this movie? The ultimate irony of it. The fact that in order for the plane engine to exist, donnie has to rip it off a plane, but hi ripping it off, is what caused the tangent universe's creation. Think of it as an impossible loop....

Mine is that God made a mistake and the univese will end unless Donnie willingly dies in bed by an exact time.

In a deleated Scene Frank literally tells Donnie that he was sent by God.

Theirs this teenager, who is part crazy at times. This ghost from the future named Frank saves him from a plane engine that got destroyed in the future, which went from our universe, to the tangent universe(The one the story takes place in)and tells him the world will end, and tells him to do bad stuff, for the good. Example, he burned down the house and the police found kid porn. Anyways, at the end, Donnie kills frank, and when the world was supposed to end...SEE ENDING BELOW

Donnie woke up from the dream, or the so called Tangent universe, knowing he was about to die. The Tangent universe is a universe, that is real, but in our universe, we dream whats happening in the Tangent universe. So only a few people had the dream about the Tangent universe. Then Donnie gets impaled when the plane engine crushed his bedroom. And then everyone woke up like"WTF?!" and they see Donnie died, and they go"WTF?!?!?!"

Yes. But the plane crashed, and the engine went through a portal to the real universe, so basically, in the other universe, the girl and the mother are screwed, but in our universe, their fine. And since their alive, that means a crappy sequel of a good movie staring the little girl was made. Yay
