what a high, high level masterpiece. my favorite track, followed by "if this isn't jazz", then "pieces". if alternative and jazz were to shake hands with each other... Pat Barber would be it.

Saw her live at the Green Mill in 1997 (or 98). She did a terrific So Nice (Summer Samba). Can anyone put up a video of that, I wonder ?

I remember meeting Patricia for the first time. Parents took me and my brother out to Chicago back in the 80's, and we went to the bar she was playing. I was just a little kid at the time, and my only view of jazz was Neil Diamond's Jazz Singer, so not knowing any better, asked if she knew any of the songs from the movie lol.

Very cool. Thanks for posting. She gigs Mondays at the Green Mill in the Uptown neighborhood of Chicago (at N. Broadway and Lawrence), when she's in town. Have to go check her out. She's got a little of that Keith Jarrett groaning going on. Great bass player with her, too.

I saw Patricia open for Kurt Elling in Ann Arbor a while back and she was a real revelation. Terrific musician, singer, and performer. I wish her a long, successful career.
