  • I used to live in Sedalia and the depot was always neglected. Its a shame its a nice place. I am excited to see it is being worked on. At least it will have people in it but it will still suck because everybody in there is not railroaders and they won't have a clue.

  • I was born in Sedalia! Not very many people I know what or where Sedalia is! I have alot of family there, I miss the state fair but I'm coming home in August to see it again, and went to Smith Cotton High, Class of 1973. And I agree: it's about time they fix the old station!! I was out there last summer and it's really looking better than it did years ago!! It was runned down, dirty, full of winos, and not safe. I sure miss my hometown. It's always nice to meet someone from home!

  • Wow, I used to ride to this train station from Jefferson City, Missouri to visit my grandparents in nearby Marshall, Missouri. Thanks for posting.

  • looks like the station is run down or abandion in the video

  • It is the old Missouri Pacific depot. It is supposedly slated for restoration, but yeah, it is run down. It has been used for years as a railroad office and signal shop. The station part of it is open which is nice, but sad to see it so abandoned all the time.

  • How well I remember. I was telling ns I was born in Sedalia and I was just out there last August for the State Fair and family reunion. From what I saw, the outside looked really nice. I hear from my Aunt that they are still working on it.

They need to put an Amtrak Ticket Agent in there for sure! Back when I was a kid, the only trains that came through was the Missouri Pacific and Union Pacific. What memories!

  • Great video :o). Too bad to hear electronic bells on that crossing though, I sincerely hope that UP doesn't mess with that crossing in Warrensburg anytime soon...

  • The horn has a name!? I feel no longer worthy of calling myself an Amtrak buff. :D Kidding. I'd really like to know who installed the other horns on the sporadic other Genesis locomotives - K5LA all the way given that's its name.

  • ohh man beautiful K5LA!!!!

  • Tough conditions with the sun, but a great video. Love that K5LA horn.
