  • Video is up sorry for the wait. but tutorial is up! check it out

  • the way he laughes when explaining the meaning of the song just proves how much he puts into every song he makes and how much each one means to him.

  • @theIwka totally agree

  • It's a pleasure to see him play unplugged songs.

  • You kick ass Brian!

  • I cant believe how awesome this is. What he says at the beginning I can completely relate to hahahaha

  • learned how to play this by watching it pretty easy only three chords anyone want me to make a tutorial??

  • @SHYSHILLY Please do inbox me when you do, :D

  • i'm not gay, but i have got to admit, i have a 'man-crush' on brian....

  • @robholton1 I'm so glad my girlfriend understands the feeling we share about him... The awkward appreciation.

  • That ending bit, where it gets all quiet, is just so fucking peaceful, and makes me feel like everything, ever will just be all alright. Brian, don't ever change, and don't ever stop being a Casanova, you sweet soul.

  • No pick! My nemesis.

  • great song!!!

    this is my cover watch?v=frR-pzk0lLw

  • Who'd notice that Gaslight isn't spelled right..?

  • so good, so so good.

  • Being born in the town of your hero: $0.00 (gotta love the boss), the audacity to pour y0our heart out: $0.00. the unfliching dedication to yourself even after a record deal $PRICELESS. Brian is the most sincere rockstar we could ever ask for.

  • It is so hard to sing songs you really believe in without showing how much it affects you.

  • Saw them last Thursday, and I can tell you it was some of the most magic things i've seen, highly recommended to go see those guys, truly amazing band.

  • loved it!

  • If you like this song checkout The Runaway by Regret the Hour

  • just amazing - must have listened to this hundreds of times and it still sends shivers down my spine like the first time I heard it. can't wait for the revival tour with Dan Andriano - 2 of the greatest song writers ever on the same night!

  • Aw, man, I feel like literally melting away. He is amazing! Nobody here in Germany seems to know about the Anthem... what a shame. I'm seriously considering buying an oldschool ghetto blaster and just sitting down in the middle of the city, turning it to max volume with a Gaslight Anthem CD in it. People WILL fall in love...

  • @CalamityCain in österreich genauso

  • I absolutely love them! It's such a shame that not a lot of people know about them.

  • it is soul man!!!!!!!!

  • @2:45

Everytime i hear this part i must smile :)

  • Don't know if you've realised, but you've called the Gastlight Anthem in the title.

  • whats the guitar? a dove?

  • shit! you're totally right. I guess the wilson pickett lines that come after threw me.

still gonna sing soul man when I cover it:)

  • @gallahadion Before dispensing musicality advice learn what octave means...or at least sticks to the words you know the meaning to.

  • @iambrandonbeck: its basically c am g, with an f thrown in before the verse starts. he's adding the third fret on the high e too. its a fairly simple song, but its fun to play around with.

also "every soul man's song is a night I'd like to spend with you" is a fucking amazing line.

  • @feelgoodbynums its slow man , not soul man , just to let you know (:

  • Someone Tab this out

  • @iambrandonbeck I have a rough version if you want it? :)

  • @mc23talbot1 that'd be awesome. Damn I don't check my youtube comments.

  • So in love with you Brian:)

  • So in love with you Brian:)

  • you wrote Gastlight !!

  • i just love this. raw emotion. and he doesnt get better at guitar. i think that fact is hilarious.

  • what is the song at the intro and outro of the video?

  • oh brian, why do you do this to me? *sighs*

  • 5 people suck!

  • if people were ever wondering what music is, this is what it sounds like.

  • but Brian, you ARE a casanova.... <3

  • @CutToRibbons awww hes just modest!:)

  • @CutToRibbons Can i be your Casanova?

  • @That1GuyBill will you take me somewhere new? ;)

  • @CutToRibbons Come and take my hand, I'll do the very best I can

  • @That1GuyBill how cute, why don't you two get together and then you can tell TGA how you got together over their lyrics.

  • The words that come out of Brian's mouth are always filled with so much passion. He wears his heart on his sleeve and it makes me think how the girl(s) he's singing about could NOT fall in love with this incredible man

  • Gastlight anthem

  • i loveee !!!! motivationn

  • i watched this like 1000 times and only now i recognize that gaslight is spelled wrong lol but whatever , brian fallon is amazing. he is my hero.

  • I am an old punk of 38 and this band is great. I love the heart they put into the songs. So much emotion there.

  • 5 people are blatantly deaf!

  • Gaslight is the ONLY band where I havnt seen a single negative comment on any of their videos.

  • @AkWarped till now

  • This is just beautiful. Oh and NME spell the band name right!

  • @robslater90 WHAT A SHAME. Misspelling The Gaslight Anthem..

  • i can´t say how much i love his music, it´s just he´s showing life and love through his voice and that makes his music incredible... keep up doin it like right now!

  • He wears his heart on his sleeve every performance. Ive taken a shot at covering this song, please check it out.

  • I love the way he says "lady". He's ace :D

    Btw, it's GASLIGHT, not gastlight.

  • the thing i dont like about this song is that it ends.....

  • where can i find the tab for this!?!?!? please help thx : ]

  • i just noticed this says gasTlight anthem in the title

  • i love how at certain parts of a song (around 2:43) he will get all shy or smile and you just know that those lyrics mean something special to him. something no one else can understand. those are the reasons why I love this band and love watching brian fallon do anything. he's always enjoying himself.

  • @yeahhmovelikethat it has nothing to do with intelligence. look, i like the gaslight anthem and all...that was just a really gay, overdramatic comment.

  • @yeahhmovelikethat yeah 59 gay people.

  • Its great to see a band this day & age that comes up tru the ranks over the years & writes such great music, Thank fuck for The Gaslight Anthem, we need more of real music like this & less X Factor & talent show shite. Looking foward to seeing them in Dublin on Sunday night :)

  • This is Ricky Gervais's song for Marge Simpson isnt it?

  • One of the things that fascinates me about this band (apart from the awesome music) is the names of their songs, I mean, the whole 59 Sound album is full of great names, Patient Ferris Wheel, Casanova, Baby, Old White Lincoln, Here's Looking At You Kid, just brilliant names

  • every gaslight anthem video on youtube deserves hundreds of positive comments. they are such an incredible band and do not get nearly the credit the deserve yet (at least in the US)

  • every gaslight anthem video on youtube deserves hundreds of positive comments. they are such an incredible band and do not get nearly the credit the deserve yet (at least in the US)

  • One of my favourite songs at the moment. :)

  • excelente cancion..

  • Amazing. I love that vulnerability to his voice, it's like he really feels the music :) <3 TGA

  • I've seen them several times live and all were amazing and like most of you I agree they absolutely give it their all everytime,, the kinda music where you feel it wether you want to or not. I seen them open for Rise Against not knowing who they were the first time and it blew me away with the first song.. forever a fan.

  • i love this song, reminds me of my dad, i love singin and playing this song

  • I saw them when they came to philly and let me tell you seeing them is not only fun but its an experience they seem like their the nicest funnest guys! not only that but they are incredibly talented I have been listening to them since the beginning and I am so happy to see how successful they are becoming!!

  • @KWNatureBoy you sound pretty special yourself. @jsaroff11 you assume that he puts too much emotion into it which he clearly doesn't

  • This really isn't him at his best his voice does sound strained at parts, he's better singing softly and husky when he's doing unplugged stuff.. the version on KEXP where he does 4 tracks of the 59 Sound is excellent as well as Here's Lookin' At You Kid, that's ones on youtube somewhere. The Gaslight Anthem are a special special band but nobody can deny it

  • These guys are the definition of why i still love music! You nailed it jsaroff11 look at the passion that Brian puts into his song just while playing in the back of a car!

  • he can be my casanova. TGA forever <3 (:

  • I really hope these guys get big eventually. Brian Fallon wears his heart on his sleeve when he writes/performs his music, and had lyrics almost everyone could relate to. I just wish they'd come to L.A. more often..

  • @joeysAdrummer I wish they'd stick around NJ more. I found out about TGA from a buddy of mine after I got out of Army Basic Training and I missed they're last show in Jersey because I was in training with my unit. Personally, I think they should go on a USO tour, especially the next time the NJ Nati Gaurd deploys.

  • Such an incredible musician.

  • jsaroff11: totally agree with you! he's so sincere and just awesome!!

  • I hadn't heard of them until someone said about them on a forum I'm on, and I listened to the album and I was completely hooked. And, out of the blue, I was taken to a gig of theirs because one of my Dad's mates couldn't go, and it's the second best gig I've ever been to (Green Day being first). Been a massive fan ever since. Sink Or Swim is so raw and powerful, it's amazing. The '59 Sound is a masterpiece, and now American Slang is pretty amazing aswell. They simply can't go wrong. IloveTGA.

  • What're the chords for this? I cant tell.

    i see a G, Cadd9 Dsus7, E minor.

  • @bartgreco Tuned down half a step - I think.

  • This guy is amazing, the band of course is too, he is a casanova in my humble opinion, the lyrics on the 59 sound album are unique as hell and something that can rocked everyday

  • i happen to stumble upon their song "Drive" when some one used it as background music in some youtube video I liked it so much i looked up the band. This was right after Sink or Swim was released. Been a fan ever since and they have been only getting better and better. My favorite band for the better part of the last three years

  • I could to listen to this song all day everyday its pretty much perfect. I love the first part about how its about not being a casanova but trying to prove it to a lady every guy can relate

  • Come writers and critics

    who prophesize with your pen

    and keep your eyes wide

    the chanche won't come again

  • brian is just the greatest.

  • I remember hearing them for the first time on Letterman right after they played I told everyone i knew about them bought their album the 59 sound and have been a fan ever since. I've been to two of their shows so far in CO and it has been amazing each time they put on a hell of a live performance.

  • he is the fukn' man!!!

  • 2:43-3:06 he is SO imitating Bruce's voice. It's cool though.

  • I cry every time, then I have a wank

  • Brian Fallon is a God.

  • This band is sooo under rated!! they played at T in the Park and were amazin! The front man is pretty sound and the guitarist was really good.

  • the dude is pouring his heart out. Look at where the video is, he is in the back of a car, probably talking to some random journalist. Yet he nearly brings himself to tears. Simply put The GA (especially Brian Fallon) bring it every performance.

  • @jsaroff11 Seems much more like some kind of restaurant or something similar than a the back of a car, man, haha. I completely agree on the rest! :)

  • @jsaroff11 thats one of the gayest things ive ever read.

  • @jsaroff11 dont think he was almost in tears.

  • @jsaroff11 I agree, he's amazing! But NME isn't that random. ;)

  • cant wait for the new album!!!!!!

  • i've never met anyone who hasn't been able to at least stand gaslight, even if they aren't fans, that's how great this band is.

  • this is an incredible band, there is somethin extremely special about em and im a fan for life now. i got hooked about a year ago

  • I think i pretty much agree, its love or hate. But anyone who gives them a proper listen.. well if they aint hooked theyre ears musn't work properly! I've loved them since as long as i can remember, and im hoooked :D just bought tickets to see em at manchester, cant wait!

  • I think this band is almost like marmite...kinda....maybe. Wot i mean is ive been tellin people bout these guys for ages and they either luv em, or they h8 them and not much inbetween... Lol

  • Dude, so wrong, i have been following them forever, i am sure there are going to stick around, their new album comes out on 10 june, "American Slang" I hope it is EPIC!

  • it wont be anything but EPIC my friend...About a year an half ive been telling random people about them, some payed attention, ones that didnt, well they bought the new Fall out boy cd im sure...

  • Oh yeah, I am the same way, I have managed to spread them through out my work like i virus, Everyone that gives them a chance likes them... including old people... and as the ones that dont pick up fall out boy... they make sure they grab the new nickleback on their way out of Sam goode...

  • Such a shame. Gaslight is the lyrically and emotionally the best band I think there is.

  • I think people misinterpreted your comment. That's a complement in my eyes.

  • isn't that a good thing? i don't understand why people are disliking it. i agree :)

  • i love his hat. i want it.

  • I saw him on 1/16. So amazing!

  • saw these guys in denver and they kicked ass. you can't replace a band with an old sound, that doesn't use any of that new age crap to change their sound. they just play their instruments and that's good enough. these kind of bands are dying with all of this new age computer made crap. good stuff

  • just saw him play an acoustic show tonight. it was fucking amazing. it was like he was just a guy hanging out at the bar with you havin a conversation. he was saying how he thinks they will never be big and he loves it

  • This is gonna be a special band in like 10 years. You can tell that when they do acoustic versions or at least Fallon he is trying like 30 ways to sing them while doing it. When he finds it its gonna be special. I think this band needs to be supported. I actually bought like 14 of their last albums from Best Buy and sent them as Christmas Gifts. Did the same for The Answer too. Gotta buy the album to support these bands. TGA rocks hard.

  • @KWNatureBoy you are the man, a true patron of the arts. i respect you and id do the same if i had a job haha

  • @KWNatureBoy This is a special band now, just not nearly well known enough yet!

  • Brian always has the coolest hats!

  • theres an extra t in gaslight in the title btw.

greatest band out there right now

  • the song is really easy 2 play it's just the chords C, Am, G, F mostly, just improve the finger picking at the start.

  • I can't figure out the fingering, I like the way he does it.

  • @Otherien that's what she said

  • haha oh wow

  • @Otherien if you wanna play it the way he does here, im pretty sure he's playing C, Am, G, and F with his pinky finger on the 3rd fret, first string for each chord as an added note. hopefully that helps

  • I found better sounding chords (imo) Capo 3rd fret, G Em7 Dsus

  • I wish someone could tab this version out

  • This man his so his own great way to do his music

  • Brian Fallon <3 Love this.

  • prob da most underrated bands out there they should be huge

  • I like how you said, "da" instead of, "the".

  • @1stAprilMCR Not so much underrated, but just underexposed. Everyone time is ask someone if they have even heard of them, they haven't.

  • forget this dead mans town il take home..

    :D classic...ha

  • this band will be huge.

and i mean like Micheal Jackson huge.

u watch they will pwn the world with there beautiful music

  • I've been looking for an acoustic version of this song ever since I heard it! Thanks!

  • there best song its amzing

  • you spelled there name wrong lol :D

    great band :D

  • every song this band does wether it be live, on album, or acoustic it is a grea. this is the best band out there.

  • I could cry to this! It's so damn beautiful!

  • Amazing!!

Like it better than the original what doesn't mean that the original is bad

  • So great music. Found 'bout them like 4 months ago, can't stop listening...hope they come play somewhere in southeast europe, i'll walk to the place if i have to.

  • Awesome song, awesome band, awesome man.

    So good

  • love it.

reminds me of my bebe :)

  • perfect, i need to learn to finger pick like that!

  • Nicely Done, Always such strong performances from this guy... My favorite band as of right now.

  • hands down my favorite song

  • You can't beat that.
