this song captures the essential themes of LOTF, not to mention that despite them being "rescued" the boys were forever changed. this is seen in the lyrics of talking about how they never left the island truly. great song, with powerful allusions :)

I think the lyrics are about LOTF, but also the TV show "Lost" which is also referenced in several of their songs. Their last chorus says "We came here on a plane, just a bunch of Scientists" which is what has led me to believe this

This film is and it allways be a classic forever! I see it many many times. Every time that I see it, it brings back beautiful memories. As a Producer & Director, I love this picture so much that I decided to produce a Feature Film in the exact same locations that LOTR was film. We are now in production. i read this book in 7th grade and then again in 10th. totally different comprehension of it. it is all about anarchy. my teacher left the room for 10 minutes to see what we would do. great read and great song. volcano was a great album.

i couldn't imagine reading this book in 7th grade. even in 10th grade it's confusing. it's one of those books that you can't learn by yourself. you need a teacher or a class or something to help you really understand the meaning of it.
