  • and the purpose of this is ..... ?

  • @Diabloke2701 Most likely to impress potential buyers................

  • This video is popular on Bangkok

  • We have hundreds of other cool videos in our catalogue check our channel page out and subscribe..

  • They did this with Chuck Norris. Let's just say the remains of the train flew away with the wind.

  • poor locomotive!!!!

  • 0:45 And now I see why everybody hates Thomas now

  • 1983 ja existia imagem em HD? Kkkkk

  • Youtube math 3,318+263= 4,053,992????

  • @DarkPantherXD1 not everyone rates dumbass

  • @DOMMYO Don't be a jackass

  • @DarkPantherXD1 dont be a stupidfuck.

  • @DarkPantherXD1 Really..?

  • @DarkPantherXD1

Or get this... Not everyone who watched the video, rated it. Also over half the views were before the new like/dislike system.

Anyone know the track name to this?

  • @BoyceKRP ok

  • @DarkPantherXD1 ermmmmmm... you realise that not everyone rates the videos they watch right?

  • i like trains

  • Yet these things leaked all the bloody time :-/

  • Best. Job. Ever.

  • And that's a 100-0 in 3 seconds, best brakes ever.

  • Diesel doesn't use a spark to ignite it takes compression. just sayin'.

  • and 42 school children died that day while on an innocent train ride to school, true story

  • what was the flash on the side of the train before impact? something fishy was going on.

  • What about the driver?

  • But will it blend ?

  • @scootergrisen It did, kind of....

  • boom.

  • Chuck Norris can open the container, only with think! :D

  • ey Cause life is a game

  • !!!!!!!look at this flying locomotif,!!!!!! bizar

  • I am glad my PENIS wasnt in front of that train. :-D

  • @waterfordjim the train would miss

  • I bet the container has it's weak spot.

  • Fail safe... Fukushima was also supposed to be failsafe. Of course, all the Nuclear faclities in France are faisafe. Even our borders are failsafe!... (Or so says our Govt).

Yeah, let's trust our govt officials and nucleocrats...

  • wow that was really worth the money

  • thomas the tank engine!!

  • LOL? That was a waste of 2 million dollars.

  • @DivineTurtle96 Waste??? I hardly think so... I cerainly need to know that the containers handling nuclear waste to Yukka Mountain, N.M. and various other facilities around the US are absolutely FAIL SAFE - 100%. I'd say this is a very small price to pay in the grand scheme of things... Don't be so short sighted.

  • Comment removed

  • Having said that, though.. I'm still going to like it.

  • What a waste..

I like trains, I like crashes.. but this was a little unnecessary.

  • I like Trains!!! XD

  • It would have been amazing to have sat on the roof of one of those houses and watched this. TU :-)

Also thanks for putting my vid Steam Trains At High Speed as a Video Response.

  • i was hopin ther train would win??

    am i the only 1???

  • HOLY SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • mmh i can make you go crazy

  • yeaa i was driving it n m fine .....

  • They rigged it with pyrotechnics

  • @alnilam66 No, they didn't. What would have been the point? The fire came from fuel splashed from a split tank onto the hot engine and spilling from the fuel pump, which was in the equipment bay that flew out, along with the generator. Sparks from the generator and traction motors ignited the resulting fine mist of fuel.

  • Comment removed

  • the build up was incredible. the crash was prett lame tbh at 0:35 aand then it sets on fire.

  • i can survive that crash!

  • poor old class 46 :( was a beast once

  • It`s something called JackAss

  • I've seen this actual container. It's slightly scratched and dented.

  • What is the music on this? I keep hearing it on things but have no idea what it's called.

  • It would have been so cool to stand behind that wall... People have jumped trains on motorcycles,, but have you ever had a train jump you?? Aah ha ha ha ha

  • @fattymcfatfatism That "wall" was an overturned low-loader wagon, supposed to have been carrying the flask. Walls are not usually built across a railway track, and they don't usually have buffers, couplings and (detached) wheels! Also, the wagon was shunted a couple of hundred feet down the track by the impact, ending up partially on top of a coach.

  • obviously fake....notice how all the passengers get off the train before it crashes into the block. If it were a real accident, they wouldn't have got off....also....why was it being filmed like this? Obviously this was PLANNED!

  • @sooper2dooper3 Yes planned to test how strong the container is.

  • Comment removed

  • @sooper2dooper3 are you being serious?

  • @sooper2dooper3 You're a fucking retard.

  • but will it blend?

  • Did he died

  • @MrMetalhead9182 No, the sandwiches provided weren't that bad.

  • Large impact area not effective two words shaped charge max force small area impact crack it like a nut.

  • @Darmock59 The aim was to try to dislodge the lid, and the loco's drawhook hit in the right place to do that, if possible. This was all about demonstrating the safety of transporting the flasks by rail; terrorism was a separate matter, and the UK didn't face terrorists with shaped charges in 1984.

  • I thought they were testing the indestructibility of the TRAIN.

  • @LegoMovieMan44 How so? Why use a nuclear container, of all things, as an obstacle instead of a block of concrete or something? The title is ambiguous and inaccurate (nothing is indestructible, and it was never claimed for the flask) but it's obviously a test of the crash resistance of a dangerous cargo container on a derailed low-loader wagon.

  • @myslimakastreetfight: real dont lie

  • we are the driver go area in drive time?

  • @myslimakastreetfight Yes, you are, aren't you.

  • FATALITY

  • @MeisterD3 Trains get rear-ended too. You're safest in the middle.

  • Uncle Fester with his Lionels.....

  • Search for 'Streets of Providence, Rhode Island (HD 720p)' on YouTube to see a crazy police chase.

  • why dont they simply bomb the nuclear container??? thats more likely scenario of it getting hit.

  • @Rocket1981 Not in 1984. Terrorism was effectively limited to the IRA, who were not suicidal; an accident while being transported by rail was far more likely.

  • @Rocket1981 they do that to!!!

  • @Rocket1981 Stuff the bomb this is way more entertaining!

  • @Rocket1981 Back when they tested it, the most prominent terrorist threat was the IRA... and the IRA didn't target anything nuclear. Post-11/9 and post-7/7, perhaps an IED-type scenario would be tested.

  • @Rocket1981 Terrorists bombing a nuclear container is a lot less likely than a train accident, that's why.

  • @Rocket1981 Because the container is transported by train.

  • @Rocket1981 It's not so much about the scenario of a train hitting the container, it's to demonstrate that the container is so durable, that not even a speeding train can cause damage to it.

  • @moviemaster8510 A speeding train was, and is, by far the most likely object to collide with a container carried by rail.

  • @Rocket1981 Oh they do. but the more tests the better, Knowledge is power

  • @Rocket1981 because running a train into it is more fun

  • @Rocket1981 Yeah but we all know they keep nuclear containers on railway lines out in the open.

  • @crazynoobboy No, they TRANSPORT them by rail. Didn't you notice the container was on an overturned low-loader wagon? Don't you care whether or not one would leak radioactive material if involved in a railway accident?

  • @Rocket1981 you dont have trains driving through your nuclear power stations? jeeze your weird ;D

  • I wonder what happened to the driver?

  • @casnick1Just in case you're not joking: at the time of the crash, he was nearly nine miles away and eating the packed lunch provided, having opened an external valve to send the train on its way.

  • @casnick1 ... He was taken out James Bond style through the roof... just before the crash! Ha ha! ... Didn't you see the rope ladder and helicopter a few seconds before impact?!

  • 256 people of greenpeace have been see this video

  • This is Stupid.

  • YES but will it survive a direct hit from a meteor !!! ??

  • @tenfiveracer No. But then nothing will, and the flask is carried by rail, not space shuttle. They just wanted to prove it wouldn't leak in a serious train crash.

  • @sexyconnor123 The book was much better

  • Hope the driver is okay

  • @pwoody1982 ...Shit... that's what i was gonna say!

  • Comment removed

  • @pwoody1982 its engineer

  • Comment removed

  • @wampaAWESOMEsauce The person at the controls of a train is known as an Engineer ONLY in North America. Everywhere else in the English-speaking world, the job title is Driver, except in some parts of Australasia where the term Train Operator has been adopted.

As this is a British posting of a British clip, Driver would be the appropriate term, had there been one on this occasion. I don't know what you'd call the guy who set the controls, turned a handle outside and left 46009 to her fate.

  • @danlefou yea ok didnt need a lecture lol

  • @wampaAWESOMEsauce With respect, what was your reply to pwoody1982, if not a short lecture?

  • @danlefou lol sorry i didnt need a MEDIUM size lecture lol

  • Comment removed

  • @danlefou BUT WAIT pwoody1982 is from the united states making it ENGINEER HA lol

  • @wampaAWESOMEsauce That's not how it works. The convention is to use the job title for the country where the action takes place. If I'm writing about American trains, I call the person driving the engineer. For a driver/engineer/operator in a non-English-speaking country, you use the term that applies in your own country, e.g. we'd call a French mécanicien a driver, and you'd call him an engineer.

So you wouldn't be interested in how American drivers came to be known as engineers, then? :-D

  • @danlefou nope i already know aliens came down and attacked train drivers and turned them into engineers lol

  • @wampaAWESOMEsauce That's right, Reticulan Greys. They also forced the engineers to wear dungarees, tall caps and red neckerchiefs, LOL.

  • @pwoody1982 wy would u even think it had a driver

  • @satiore Why would you even think he was serious...

  • @pwoody1982 look at the cab

    remote control

    no driver

    bob

  • @iworked No remote control - it wasn't needed. The loco was just started, run up against the brakes and left to run to the end of the line.

  • @pwoody1982 there is known probably maybe like a run away train or something for a second idk

  • @pwoody1982 There is no driver

  • They should carry out the same test with a Voyager - all of them in fact

  • Excellent illustration of the extreme test needed to show a container as meeting specifications. In this case, the nuclear container should be able to survive anything short of a direct hit with a specified amount of high explosives, and likely it passed---the container survived the train that struck it.

  • pretty sure chuck norris would destroy that thing

  • super train! D:D

  • Turns out it wasn't indestructible O_O

  • train 2130 will be delayed due to a nuclear container on the track.

  • what a waste of a train

  • "A train crashes into a NUCLEAR container at 100mph (161 km/h) to prove its indestructibility." You couldn't prove that with a fucking concrete wall? It just had to be something nuclear...

  • @squirlybmx The test was OF a nuclear fuel container's crash-worthiness if involved in an accident while being TRANSPORTED by rail. It's rather worrying that anyone would think otherwise, given the dangerous nature of the fuel, and the fact that the caption TELLS you as much at 0:18! But then, would do you expect of someone who thinks it's smart to swear on the Internet?

  • @danlefou "...But then, would do you expect of someone..." I skipped to the crash, but then again, what should I expect from someone who can barely use correct grammar when typing on the internet?

  • @squirlybmx Your argument would be valid on 99% of the comments on Youtube. Personally I found his grammar to be among the remaining 1%. He used possessive forms and even commas correctly. As for the mistake he made, he clearly just changed his sentence structure in mid-sentence and made an error in the process. I'm sure that's happened to you. Oh and English is not my native language, so any mistakes in this are to be expected, or at least that's how I rationalize my lack of proper grammar.

  • @Phatency Gentlemen, please elucidate my mistake to me.

  • @danlefou Were you being sarcastic? I'll elaborate anyway: "But then, would do you expect of someone who thinks it's smart to swear on the Internet?" What you probably meant to say was "But then, what would you expect of..."

  • Comment removed

  • @Phatency I know that my statement regarded 1% of his comment and that was my point. Most videos of this type are often quickly viewed by the audience by skipping to the action part. I skipped to the explosion, like a lot of people do.

  • @squirlybmx There was no explosion. The locomotive collided with the flask on its "derailed" low-loader and broke up, scattering fuel onto the hot engine, where it was ignited briefly by sparks from the departing generator. Isn't it more interesting (and less embarrassing) if you learn exactly what is happening and why?

  • @danlefou There was an explosion.

  • @squirlybmx What do you think exploded? Parts were torn asunder by their own kinetic energy, and free fuel burned in open air. The fire contributed nothing to the break-up.

  • @danlefou It exploded.

  • @squirlybmx How?

  • @danlefou Because it exploded.

  • @squirlybmx Explain how, in your opinion, the fuel tank came to explode, i.e. burst owing to pressure from inside, rather than be crushed and split open by heavy machinery breaking up around it. If you can't, or won't try, it's a case of troll fail.

  • @danlefou It exploded because I said so.

  • Comment removed

  • @squirlybmx

"When I use a word," Humpty Dumpty said in rather a scornful tone, "it means just what I choose it to mean -- neither more nor less."

"The question is," said Alice, "whether you can make words mean so many different things."

"The question is," said Humpty Dumpty, "which is to be master - - that's all."

(Through the Looking Glass, Chapter 6)

  • @danlefou Great book. The train exploded.

  • Comment removed

  • @squirlybmx Whatever you say, Humpty.

  • My brother Markus Bott had been tortured during 5.5 years by the German BND,the former GESTAPO.I recorded more than 100 videotapes which ended up in the legal system. My brother was tortured 1.5 years while several legal procedures pending. He was assassinated on July 11th 2009 because of our homepage and our book Der Totalitäre Staat. If my homepage disappears, the BND will have assassinated me as well.BND snitchers are thumbing me down

So thumbs up if you want the BND to stop torturing my parents

  • Farmer: Now who the fuck's gonna clean up my yard???

  • Nice

  • who's indestructibility? train or container?

  • @SchezS It tells you on screen between 0:07 and 0:17. Actually, the CEGB never claimed the flasks were indestructible (what is?), just that one wouldn't leak if involved in a heavy train crash.

  • how did the camera in the train not blow up?

  • @productiveproductons It was well padded, but it does seem to have stopped on impact, so it may have been damaged. Nothing actually exploded; some fuel splashed on the hot engine and caught fire for a few seconds.

  • this is where ur tax dollars are going....

  • 252 PEOPLES WHERE ON THAT TRAIN ¡¡¡

  • actually they just did it cuz it was simply a cool thing to do

  • chuck norris can breaak it

  • but will it blend?

  • RAAAAAWR!!!

  • I remember this

  • the music really makes the video better! good work. :)
