Hey Vance--We DO have hard and fast rules regarding safety harnesses and we DO use them---If we tried to use a harness 100% of the time we would go absolutely insane. Besides---harnesses can sometimes CAUSE more problems than they solve.
"One hand for the ship-one hand for the crew" ALWAYS one eye over your shouldder and a pathological fear of going overboard many times serve just as well.

Bravery has nothing to do with it.
All you ned is a boat--adequate preparation which includes some study
and research and the desire to do it.
A passga eis "a state of mond." It's ALL IN YOUR HEAD. You work up to
it. Short passages first and then the longer ones.
