  • they look like there drunk like teens

  • Did I hear someone likes fishfingers?

  • rosewood neck?? pretty sure that's maple.

    Good review though

  • it's called a "pickguard"... good demo though

  • @78hiwatts It's called both.

  • ok one question, what is up with that thumb rest below the G string and not the E string?

  • @TheKille22 its called a "tugbar" when it is under the G string, you put your fingers under it and pull up so you can play the strings with your thumb

  • I want that sonic blue precision!, I'd really like to get down to the shop and meet these guys, damn good players, but why does Sean have a taliban-style beard?

  • Characters for the next Guy Ritchie movie...

  • Where u guys from

  • Ah yes, the old Classic Voib strats.

  • Yes but have you got anything with a Stevie Ray Vaughn Vibe ;-)

  • Well look that guy looks like John Mayer with a huge beard! If you look closely.

  • okay!

  • of course his tooth is missing.

  • he does look a bit scary. but he sounds like a really nice guy. i

  • Strat sounds better than my Fender Deluxe Players Strat, with USA VIntage/Noiseless pups!!! Nice playing too!

  • I meant Strat, no, really I did, I do know the difference, or was it the Jazz Bass?, the beard really threw me!

  • I've just checked my Tele all over, and I still can't find the "volume for the tone control", what the hell's going on here, have I got a fake Tele?, something should be done about this!

  • 3:46

    VOLUME FOR THE TOOOONE!

    What?

  • What is better,Classic vibe or Vintage Modified Jazz Bass?

  • Could someone tell me what is the first song that bassist play? Please?

  • @Laimonel Sunshine of You Love by Cream.

  • I dont think they stock the first blue bass anymore :( I must own that bass!

Im gonna spend my life in that shop when I move to southampton..

  • First guy should lay off the coffee.

  • ohh we have a button there and a nice gloss here and looks great, ohh it has a scratch plate, gloss on the neck too! and there is the tone control LOL HAHAHAHA

  • Got Meth?

  • When he looks at the camera ... he stares into your soul !

  • i had this guitar. it sukd. i sold it, along with my epiphone les paul and bought a real guitar, melody maker, by gibson

  • @noodle4313 squiers are actually quite good for the money you pay...i think you like your gibson more ,because it's gibson and not because it's a good guitar.I could actually say it's the worst gibson model, that's why it's the cheapest...i mean one pickup!? come on...what can you play with one pickup?

  • @argydaf its a les paul junior there not the worst guitars gibson makes that sould be the sg zuit suit (XD made of colored plywood) lp juniors are just like that and many people dig them

  • @gtnick314 i am not talking about lp junior,but about a melody maker...These two are comletely different,lp junior=p-90 pickup,melody maker=single coil ;)

Of course lp juniors are not the worst gibson...i love p-90s :P

  • @argydaf sorry a correction still doesnt mean there bad guitars overpriced imo but stil great sounding acctualy the princilple still applies the lp juniors and melody makers both have one pickups and have alot to be done with as for what can you do with one pickup .... ask eddie van halen i mean he hasnt done much with a guitar rigth?

  • @gtnick314 I beleive that a p-90 is more versatile than a single coil...at least i would prefer it.Of course it's only my opinion and i don't expect everyone to agree,it's actually good to listen to other opinions, you can learn things!Anyway,i am not trying to convince you or anybody that this guitar is shit, but personally i would buy another gibson model...I don't think it's overpriced, that's exactly what i am saying...it's the cheapest gibson,so it can't be as good as a lp or an explorer..

  • @argydaf a lot of punk stuff.

and some nice blues tones come from it.

plus, a lot of modern guitarists only use the bridge pickup anyway

  • @tomwebb123 ok...this guitar is fine if you have more, but if you have just one guitar you want more versatility,so i think that only one pickup isn't the best choice and in my opinion it's better to own one of the good squier models and a good epiphone(or 2 squiers,or 2 epiphone, doesn't really matter) than the one single coil melody maker, just because it has the gibson logo!

  • @argydaf i have the older melody maker that has two pickups. it is a good guitar, better than a squier by FAR. ive had my squier and sold it for my guitar.

  • @noodle4313 if it's the 2 pickup version, then ok...and i think i was kinda misunderstood,i didn't say squiers are better than gibson,i said that i wouldn't sell a squier and an epiphone to buy a one pickup guitar(even if it's gibson).Obviously that's not your case, since you bought a 2 pickup guitar and sold the others...However i still believe that melody maker is not as good as other gibson models!

  • @argydaf yea its a lower end model but still really nice

  • volume for the tone? what an idiot

  • There are actually three basses in the classic vibe series. The skipped the precision telecaster bass, the one that looks the coolest!

    i agree, he'd make a brilliant pirate:D

  • Hed make a brilliant pirate.

  • @GinTrauma HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • @GinTrauma haha

  • @GinTrauma I don't know how great of a pirate he'd make. Most piracy nowadays happens off the coast of Somalia. I don't think he'd last a week.

  • Thinking about getting the 60's J-Bass as my first bass, is this a good basic starter bass?

  • ohhhhh that tele is admirable...!

  • Nice guitars for the money but its still a squier . . .

  • @MetalShredder06

What's wrong with a Squier. So far from all the demos I've heard on YouTube there isn't that big a difference in sound qiality between a Fender and a Squier.

  • Haha scratch plate, plectrum, I love British people.

  • Yeah, yeah... as said these are all guitars, this is white, thisone is red... I mean COME ON!!! Much talk - nothing told. This way we can't figure out the difference between CV and other Squiers.

  • what´s the thumbrest on the basses for?

  • it's not a thumb rest. It is a tug-bar. Back in the 50's and 60's most bassists played plucking with the thumb. the tug-bar/finger-rest can be used as an anchor point to help with technique. people who play with the fingers often rest the thumb against the pick-ups: same idea. Some people do elect to install a thumb rest to use instead of using the pick-ups.

  • ok thanks =)

  • first thing i did was take it of. my fingers fell off when i was slapping :)

  • lol =)

  • I guess they play Squiers in Mordor.

  • Wow, that guys a nasty guitarist!

  • is there an exact version of this guitar but with fender at the top not squier?

  • If you cant find one, just buy this guitar and buy a fender replacement neck and bolt it on! Simples!

  • i have the jazz bass and it plays great best guitar i have ever bought :)

  • I hope I don't meet either of these guys on a dark night....Scary!!!

  • I've got the tele. I dont need to change puickups tbh. it handles distortion well on the bridge pickup. Metallica tones etc.

  • why would you want a nirvan or ramones style tone? they sound like shit

  • well nirvana was a band famous for making noise sound good, some people are into using feedback as an ambient noise

  • I like your review very much!

  • Can a classic vibe strat or tele get the ramones and nirvana sound ?

  • yh, get the tele

  • The duo sonic would be good for nirvana sound

  • if you drop a hotrails in the bridge, not many singles have that great of a distorted sound.

  • Why do you need a Classic Vibe? These are aimed for more music aimed at cleans, blues, jazz, funk, surf etc...

Any Squier would do really. Bullet Strats are actually very nice sounding guitars.

  • Rozpieprza mnie ten koleś od elektryków xDDD

    Rumun!!!! xDDD

  • I have got two Ibanez guitars- not expensive guitars- and they are great for heavy metal because they sound so fat if you rise off the gain sound! You would have fun with these guitars!

  • nope. you definitely need something with humbuckers, an ibanez superstrat would do better for that purpose.

BUT, if you keep in mind that you might get bored of playing only one genre of music all the time, you will want to get one of these. these squiers are very versatile guitars.

  • Just FYI, Johnny Ramone only played single coils. A kind of strat pickup in his Mosrite... He even played a Strat as a backup guitar in the early shows.

  • Ugh he used a strat in Iron Maiden.

  • Depends on your amp.... but an option is to switch out the pickups for a stacked humbucker for more edge to it.

  • LOL,duuuuddddeee c'mon now,really?

  • Is there a volume control on the jazz bass?

  • yes. two. and one tone

  • I never realized the tele body was pine. Bet that's a unique sound. I gotta try one!

  • I dotn get why they didnt do the vintage yellow nitro on all of them

  • Whoa! His voice surprised me lol

  • is the duo or whatever suppose to be the mustang??

  • It's based off of the Bronco.

  • no its based off the Duo sonic!

  • Yeah, I didn't know there was an actual duo sonic at the time. My bad! xD

  • The duo-sonic is an original Fender model from 1956. Originally it came in the same color as the Squier CV: desert sand with a gold anodized pickguard.

  • no its a Duo sonic theyre from the 50s!

  • Yeah, I know that now. My bad! xD

  • Well, that's just MY opinion. I prefer these because they play better, sound better, and cost cheaper

  • These Squiers are nice, I'd put the Classic Vibe up above the Fender MIM's

  • i'd put em up above the MIA's because it's pointless to spend 1500 clams on a sound you can get for 350.

  • Actually the MIA's are ablot $1280

  • Yeah, for sure.

  • @TMMSfanCLUB the sound may be alike but nothing can match the playability of one made in the good old USA.

  • Just got a Squier 50's vibe strat, and my MIM Fender Strat is now up for sale. The Squier looks better, and plays/sounds so much better no one would believe it. The neck is incredible

  • lol this guy reminds me of little britian usa the old couple,"put the mash on the old fork" great review:)

  • dude!! he looks so american!

  • why does some 60's P bass dont have the ashtray?

  • What is the thumb bar for?

    (on the bass)

  • to put the other fingers and play with the thumb, this is an old style technic, still used by the reggae bass player I think...

  • how about a real fender stratocaster . only 600-2000

  • not all of us are spoiled rotten

  • 600? spoiled rotten. its called savin up money.

  • Its for ppl that doesnt have alot of money, and.. beginners doesnt allways need a 2 grand guitar to play on, this is a quality guitar, every review i'v seen is positive, and ppl say they are better than Mexican made stratocaster and even sounds like the american standards .. so.. i guess its a good little guitar

  • It's pretty good for a beginner guitar, but I would go w/ a Squier 51 for a beginner guitar. It's a strat/tele frankenstein.

And you can get some better sounding MIM strats (I've owned both) for just 300-400, and it's not that much money, considering the vibe is 300 and if you get a job in 6 months you can definitely get that much.

I got a job, that's how I got my strat. Only took like 6 months and I got a $700 strat. Sounds amazing.

  • You could always get a job. Even if you're underage you can easily work around your neighborhood mowing lawns or something like that. Or you could get some job at a restraunt. I have a friend who worked at smoothie king this summer and he's 14 and another friend who got a job at carabas when he was 14 or 13. I got a job and in 5 months I bought a $700 strat. Worth the wait.

  • i could afford a 2grand guitar by working for 1 month, but i dont need an expensive guitar.

  • Well I worked part time @ minumum wage at a fast food joint, and I was bad at saving money haha But I say ur right, you don't need a $2000 guitar, it is about quality, but I'd say for best quality for best deal: MIM Roadhouse Strat MIM Lonestar Strat MIM Deluxe Players Strat MIM 50's Telecaster MIM Highway 1 series tele Epiphone LP Studio Epiphone LP Custom Epiphone g-400 SG Epiphone Standard LP (Plain or Plus) Epiphone LP Silverburst Gibson SG Those are all midranged (except SG) and awesome!
  • Hehe, i already have the Epiphone SG g-400 :p its great!

i'v looked at MIM stratocasters also, such as the lonestar.. but they are hard to find here in Sweden, and yea.. they are expensive!

  • SG's are very underrated!

Do you ever get a warm feeling when you see like a deep brown or golden brown les paul and just here the sound?

I wish I was a fender man but I guess les pauls are just hardwired into my system.

For strats- Go for the roadhouse! It's more SRV than this one, same colors, neck same color as tele, and has texas special pickups- the exact ones SRV used.

one of the best guitars I've ever played, probably the best I'ved owned!

  • highway one's are made in the US & A, homie.

  • My bad

  • Why didn't you play the Duo Sonic; that's possibly the coolest one in the bunch.

  • What amp are you playing thru?

  • i like the guitar you use but not the scracthplate

  • does the classic vibe 60s strat have 1 peice body

  • No its more like 2 or 3, You'll be hard pressed to find any strat body outside of the custom shop that is 1 peice. Even USA standards are two or 3 peice

  • thanks i just bought the 60s :)

  • I'm so excited about getting that Jazz Bass...it plays well, looks good, and sounds AMAZING! Buy one today!
