  • @MacyandJaytonsMom "Give Me One Reason" is a song by the American singer-songwriter Tracy Chapman. It was released on her 1995 album New Beginning.Chapman also performed the song six years before its release, on the December 16, 1989 episode of Saturday Night Live. The song was covered in 1996 by blues vocalist and harmonica player, Junior Wells, on his album Come On In This House.

    From wikipedia dude.

  • @MacyandJaytonsMom: Sorry, but Chapman wrote it, Wells covered it. Read the credits on Wells' album.

  • Did anybody's face just orgasm? I mean wtf that was amazing.

  • Joe Bonamassa is one of the greatest blues guitarist playing today.

He ranks up there with Stevie, Eric,Joe and the rest, and if you don't know the ther's last names then you don't know shit about music!!!!

  • @slapshot4aero: "you don't know shit about music"? No, anyone who thinks that your list of names are great bluesmen simply doesn't know anything about the blues. That they're damned good crossover rock players is true; that they're bluesmen is not.

  • @bevelhead1 For one thing who the fuck are you to tell me I don't know shit about Blues asshole?

Blues are what started Rock and Roll and that's a fact, and yes SRV is a fucking bluesman Joe plays the blues and any type of music you want him to play.

As I stated he is ONE of the greatest.

Your spouting off is nothing more than an attempt to act like you know what your talking about.

That is not the case. You don't know what I said in the first place,so fuck off dumbass.

  • @slapshot4aero: Who am I? Been playing blues in Chicago longer than you've been alive, Mister Foulmouth.

  • @bevelhead1 chicago really has no relevance.

  • Love you Joe..............I hear a lot of SVR coming through those chords, although you have your own genre...........Love you sugar......

  • @metfanal - Bonamassa's voice is fucking awesome.

  • @metfanal lol...

  • yup 'tis

  • tracy chapman?

  • @atrickpay11 Don't ya remember the summer of 1988? That was her year. i believe she lived with Alice Walker in San Fran. Wrote some cool tunes.

  • Joe Bonamassa AND Robert Cray? Lucky bastard...two of my favourite blues guitar players. :)

  • @metfanal - RIGHT ON, BROTHER! HE IS SO FAR AHEAD OF EVERYONE, MOVE OVER ERIC AND JEFF!

  • Tracy who??? Joe owns this :)))

  • @thelolguy007

No one sings this better than Tracy Chapman. However joe does a stand out job playing it.

  • That guitar playing has my body covered with the bumps......

  • @metfanal whats new kids on the block?

  • @metfanal So far no one has hit dislike, so anyone who doesn't like him you probably scared away from clicking it. lol

  • the guitar part is amazing :D five star blues :)

  • stop talking men....let the song sings..geeezzzz

  • JB has a good voice . No SRV tho ; not yet .... takes time to get just the right sound for what yur voice is .... he may get it if he'll keep Hughes shut up and out of his face like a screamin woman on her knees .... know what I mean; typical Brit . Yeh , good bass player , but lots of good bass players JB could get I guess he just wants to learn from an old DP Codgers advice . Huges kills BCC for me.... sure wish Joe would get another bass MAN .... He dresses with class , Not like a KISS man

  • Robert Cray is the Man. Soul to Burn, baby.

  • Everything is awesome except that shitty movie clip they did for the song...

  • Joe's been playing (concerts) since he jumped out the crib...over 20 years... I hear he's only been singing the last few... Now, I can wail on guitar, but can only sing a few tunes, sometimes good, sometimes.... eeewwww!!!

Jonny Lang, on the other hand has a built in voice and his guitar playing is trying to catch up! Hey, it's all good

  • joe's voice sounds awesome. it sounds like he ate a 60 year old black guy. dig it.

  • @RadiusX7

Seriously, am I the only guitar player around here who sings too?? His singing, on average, has basically nothing behind it!

And obviously he's trying to emulate a 60-yr-old black guy, but he's not really succeeding. He's got stuff like the inflection right, but his GUTS aren't in it! The heart and soul are just kinda... there. Nothing gets across for me. Don't get me wrong, I don't doubt his "heart" - I believe the man deeply loves the music, but IMO, he doesn't do it justice. Sorry.

  • @RadiusX7

    Hahahahaha!!!

  • lol that robert cray lookse liuke lee ritnour...

    or is it lee XD

  • Joe Bonamassa should not sing this song. His guitar tone is stellar as usual, but as usual, his vocal tone is... meh. I swear the man doesn't even HAVE a chest voice. Diaphragm, what's that? :P

Anyone w/ me on this, or am I just going to get a bunch of Bonamassa fanboys yelling at me like I'm a heretic??

  • @yobhsiFehT meh, I think his voice is fine, but I'm no vocalist

  • @yobhsiFehT -- yeah his voice sounds fine to me and has gotten better over time for sure.

  • @BLacKCatB0ne

I will agree that it's improved, but I still wouldn't really call it fine:/

Part of me wishes I liked him more, if nothing else, so I could understand the craze, but I just don't...

    I'll keep trying, I s'pose:P:)

  • @yobhsiFehT -- The fact that you don't like him, think those who do are fanboys and don't understand the "craze" is the reason why you are so critical of his singing. That is pretty normal. I can't stand John Mayer, don't understand the craze for him or the fanboys who love that guy. Cheers

  • @BLacKCatB0ne

I'm critical of plenty of things I like, too. If I think something could be better, I just think it'd be nice if it was better, regardless of whether or not I have a bias for or against the thing. In this case, it's not even necessarily a matter of my disliking JB, it's a matter of artistic HONESTY, for crying out loud! The extent to which he tries to be something he's not, vocally, is distracting for me, and the tonal quality of his voice isn't good enough for me to overlook that.

  • @yobhsiFehT Well, it is just simply a flawless rendition, Joe's voice making you happy or not. You're no heretic, you just deaf as an inbred hillbilly.

  • @eqsmooth

lol Right, there's no subjective element going on here, I forgot;)

    ALL HAIL LORD BONAMASSA!!! =|

  • @yobhsiFehT

Can you sing better? Is he someone you could coach into being a better vocalist. He'd just smack ya in the back of the head, Fishboy.

  • @eqsmooth

Sing better: yes; play guitar better: no.

  • this is a great blues song and what a good choice for Joe and Robert ....

    exellent!!!!!

  • i am not really into blues, but this is a great song!

  • YES! SING IT JOE
