I THINK MAX WAS KEPT IN A TITANIUM KENNEL AND WORE A TITANIUM COLLAR HE WAS BIONIC BEFORE STEVE AND JAMIE TO TEST THE RESULTS OF CYBORG TECHNOLOGY ON A DOG BEFORE HUMANS. NO OWONDER HE WAS DEPRESSED. I ASSUME AFTER ALMOST BURNING TO DEATH IN THE LAB, HIS ARMS AND LEGS AND JAW WERE SEVERLY BURNED. THAT GAVE OSI THE EXCUSE TO USE THIS BIONIC TECHNOLOGY ON HIM. THEN MUCH LATER JAMIE WAS ABLE TO ASIMMILATE HIM TO A "NORMAL' PET.

@fosponomot I love cats as I have owned a total of 10, (not all at the same time-- thank you very much) but you are so right about that they do have such attitudes but I love them :-)
I don't understand how some episodes can be posted but not others. Like movies, they will let American movies dubbed in other languages but not english.

@143AC , very true but unfortuneily They didn't know that, they had no idea Animals can go thru the same emtions of depression ECt as humans can. so they assume he is not adjusting to his bionics. the fact he is a bionic dog and worth money is one reason they kept him caged and didn't think he needed to be outside running around having fun.
good beginning to the new network...i believe this was the season opener when bionic woman switched networks from nbc to cbs. lindsay seemed to act as when the series had began on nbc, but still pretty good.
You naysayers out there need to re-think your comments. This was an excellent example of the sc-ifi stuff and human, (and canine emotion). The dog still remembered what happened to him when he was a puppy in the fire when he saw the fireplace lit. He became scared. Just like humans do when something horrible happens in their past. Beautiful dog and a great episode.

The relationship between A woman and dog is speical do to the fact that woman tend to be more careing about people and animals more then a Guy would. I'm Not saying some Guys don't have a loving careing side. but it is more commen in women.
I cannot believe that in the USA it has not released yet... In Italy we have both Jaime and Steve on dvd... since fall 2008! For the first time we are more lucky....

@fatkinson1954 : It seems that Max was raised in a lab as a test animal. When they show flashbacks to the fire that injured him, he is in a cage in a lab. He spends most of his life locked in a cage in OSI headquarters. Jamie convinces Oscar and Rudy that Max should come to live with her in Ojai California. For a short while he lived with the family of an OSI scientist, named Valerie, who was designing a tracker unit for Max to wear, in case he was ever lost or stolen..
@veeganboy : I wasn't refering to how he was raised in the show. I followed the series enough to know that. Where was he bred? Who trained him? I am refering to his real life.

Me too. We had a German Shepherd named Bruiser when I was growing up. We got him as a puppy in the mid-70s when I was about 4 years old. This show was on and I was so glad I had a him. He was a great dog. He lived until 1986
I love doing these things and making comments and asking peoples opinions on the show and things like that, but YouTube keeps pulling my videos, etc. down, and now it seems pretty hopeless but thanks for looking!

How come I can't find anything about Max's real life? Someone had to train him. How was he bred. Where did he live? Did he live with a family?
