@Naturalhit This SHO is NOT stock. Check my videos and you'll see more runs done by the car. That 14.7 was at 102mph. ;) I was there during this race and I'm pretty sure the SHO pulled a 14.2 before going home. Stock SHO's don't do 14's (LUCKY to get 15's) at over a mile high. My stock SHO went 15.8 on a very good run.
That SHO cannot be stock. And no im not talking shit. I own a 02 3.5 Altima and my very first dyno day i went with some SHO's (2nd Gens 1992-1995) which if i can make out correctly is the same in this vid. They were putting down UNDER 200hp to the wheels (but high 100's at that). then i ran and i put down 219HP to the wheels. bear in mind thats me 2002 160,000km motor with only a short ram intake i custom made lol. you be the judge.
@blessed871129 That dyno must have been VERY VERY generous with the numbers because I have an '05 Altima SE and mine put down 210 WHP with Magnaflow cat-back, Stillen short ram, and the VIAS block plate on... Do you have a manual trans??
@TexGrizzly i think i just have one of those freak of "nature" engines, and yes i have manual...heres the thing, we went as a club whole bunch of us altimas, a dude with 02 3.5 , with intake,flywheel,exhaust ran, he got lower numbers he was mad furious. I run 91 Octane ONLY, i have reset my ECU once (few months before dyno) and i drive hard 90% of the time, so guess ECU did some learnin lol. i pulled away from a buddy of mine, with intake exhaust and headers. no catback, Freak engine

I owned a '94 SHO, full suspension, brakes, and a Powerdyne Supercharger (Centrifugal) 9lbs boost, supporting mods etc.. It was a total sleeper, back then (1998) when it was on the road (only kept it around two years) it was a real blast, nobody had a clue, hell most didn't know what a SHO was in the first place. I dyno'd it on a Mustang dyno and it put down a best 312whp, that's with a really good tune. From a roll it was unstoppable hehe, so much fun the look on ppl's faces when they'd lose.
This car was similarly equipped. But running a Vortech V1 with 12 to 15 psi of boost. Best pull on the dyno was 390hp and 310tq at the wheels corrected for altitude. I sold the car a couple of months ago to a guy in Kentucky, got bored with it. Next project is gonna be a front engine/rear drive car.
Our new family car is the 2010 Taurus SHO, managed to find one with the 12S package. I've always liked the SHO, the only worthwhile tunable domestic sedan. I really loved the 2nd Gen, first Gen was too sloppy, felt like a full size LTD inside....I dunno.
Eh, some say the new SHO is no SHO because no Yamaha under the hood, but I disagree. It's an all Ford effort, 3.5L Twin Turbo Direct Injection 24V, All Wheel Drive, and the 12S package is great. 365hp/350tq, safest car in America. Easy buy.
Gotta disagree with "the only worthwhile tunable domestic sedan". Even if we're only talking about recent offerings you've got the Cobalt SS/TC, The G8 GT/GXP, the Charger R/T/SRT8, the 300C/SRT8, and the CTS-V. That's not including all of the old L67 powered GMs, the LT1 B-Bodies, the Marauder, the old CTS-Vs, and a few others.
Nice, I know those V6 Altimas are fast, didn't know a 15 year older car was faster lol. First gen SHOs are about even with a first gen Mazda6 V6 manual same power even thought Altimas were a bit faster?
What's funny is that even with 5100 ft elevation, this track has the same density altitude as Speedworld Raceway here in Phoenix, AZ where the elevation is only 1470 ft. Reason is CO is cold and AZ is hot as shit, not to mention AZ always seems to have low barometric pressure for whatever reason which has a huge effect on performance. When I was at Speedworld in August, the DA was 5026 ft at like 8 pm lol. Ran 14.7 @ 95. What did this Altima run?
It's actually 5,800 ft. I'm from Arizona and my boosted SHO ALWAYS gained a considerable amount of power. With 380ish whp, it went from roasting them in frist to roasting them in second gear in Arizona (summer vs summer). A nice 95+ degree day at that altitude is a KILLER for power.
Best run in my stock SHO at Bandimere was 15.8 and that's about as good as it gets... I've seen modded NA SHO's run 16's there. Even with proper charge cooling, we're still fighting altitude.
Has to be highly modded to run 102 mph for the SHO... Nice run The 06' Altima 3.5 runs 14.5 at 96 mph.. They ran stock about 92 mph and 15 flat in the 1\4 for a manual (the faster of the two between the auto and stick)
You have to figure in that the elevation of Bandimere is 5800' above sea level. A basic calculator found online show's that my SHO would be 13.6+/- and the Altima would have been 14.74+/- at sea level
elevation or not... just notice that the SHO's trap speed is 102.4 mph... with a good launch, a 102 mph trap speed should be mid-high 13s. Great race!! :)
The 92' SHO was slightly different.Stock 0-60 time of 6.2 and a quarter of 15.0 flat @ 94.1 plus a top end of 146mph. Not what we just witnessed but not to shabby either!

SHO makes ~220HP and 200TQ. The SHO engine is NOT the duratec. Displacement is the only thing they share. You also have to be deaf to think that is a 4 banger. Definitely a VQ35

I owned a '94 SHO, full suspension, brakes, and a Powerdyne Supercharger (Centrifugal) 9lbs boost, supporting mods etc.. It was a total sleeper, back then (1998) when it was on the road (only kept it around two years) it was a real blast, nobody had a clue, hell most didn't know what a SHO was in the first place. I dyno'd it on a Mustang dyno and it put down a best 312whp, that's with a really good tune. From a roll it was unstoppable hehe, so much fun the look on ppl's faces when they'd lose.

This car was similarly equipped. But running a Vortech V1 with 12 to 15 psi of boost. Best pull on the dyno was 390hp and 310tq at the wheels corrected for altitude. I sold the car a couple of months ago to a guy in Kentucky, got bored with it. Next project is gonna be a front engine/rear drive car.

Our new family car is the 2010 Taurus SHO, managed to find one with the 12S package. I've always liked the SHO, the only worthwhile tunable domestic sedan. I really loved the 2nd Gen, first Gen was too sloppy, felt like a full size LTD inside....I dunno.
Eh, some say the new SHO is no SHO because no Yamaha under the hood, but I disagree. It's an all Ford effort, 3.5L Twin Turbo Direct Injection 24V, All Wheel Drive, and the 12S package is great. 365hp/350tq, safest car in America. Easy buy.

What's funny is that even with 5100 ft elevation, this track has the same density altitude as Speedworld Raceway here in Phoenix, AZ where the elevation is only 1470 ft. Reason is CO is cold and AZ is hot as shit, not to mention AZ always seems to have low barometric pressure for whatever reason which has a huge effect on performance. When I was at Speedworld in August, the DA was 5026 ft at like 8 pm lol. Ran 14.7 @ 95. What did this Altima run?

It's actually 5,800 ft. I'm from Arizona and my boosted SHO ALWAYS gained a considerable amount of power. With 380ish whp, it went from roasting them in frist to roasting them in second gear in Arizona (summer vs summer). A nice 95+ degree day at that altitude is a KILLER for power.
Best run in my stock SHO at Bandimere was 15.8 and that's about as good as it gets... I've seen modded NA SHO's run 16's there. Even with proper charge cooling, we're still fighting altitude.

Has to be highly modded to run 102 mph for the SHO... Nice run The 06' Altima 3.5 runs 14.5 at 96 mph.. They ran stock about 92 mph and 15 flat in the 1\4 for a manual (the faster of the two between the auto and stick)

You have to figure in that the elevation of Bandimere is 5800' above sea level. A basic calculator found online show's that my SHO would be 13.6+/- and the Altima would have been 14.74+/- at sea level

The 92' SHO was slightly different.Stock 0-60 time of 6.2 and a quarter of 15.0 flat @ 94.1 plus a top end of 146mph. Not what we just witnessed but not to shabby either!
