  • IS final boss is also Nyarlathotep, disguised as Jun's Father (Kashihara Akinari) in-battle his name is Great Father.

  • @jingle041 what's even scarier is that nyarlathotep is merely a servant of an even scarier outer god(azathoth). If this god is to ever awake bye bye multiverse.

  • I think that narthy is the true cause of everything in 3 & 4, I don't know why but I feel that p5 will explain this.

  • @JonathanJoestar2nd "You heard the rumor about the Midnight Channel"

  • in 3 and 4 (actually all of them but they are called demons in 2+1), you fight shadows; either fractured aspects of death, and various human emotions given form and personality.

Now, imagine Nyarlathotep - he IS the darkness that spawns shadows into exsistance, or simply put - he is all shadows, everywhere and in everyone. Nyx and erebus were jaw-droppingly intimidating; and they are simply aspects of that darkness....Nyarlathotep.

  • The final boss was like being in shit creak without a paddle. Hell, even without a canoe or kayak - swimmin' in shit. But, nevertheless, it was awesome as much as it was difficult... Maya...

  • Best part of the song? The weird droning noise and the piping sound. Really makes it sound like something you'd fight a Lovecraftian horror to.

Oh yeah, and the chants of "NYAR-LA-THO-TEP!"

  • @IcaraelTheWanderer Nyarlathotep is a Lovecraftian monster. It was a large part of the Cthulu Mythos series. That just makes it even creepier...

  • @IcaraelTheWanderer whoa i never noticed the chorus was saying that xD

  • Listening to this when I do homework makes me write like Light from Death Note. No joke. xD

  • May I use this (and some other songs you have extended) in a videogame I'm making? You will be credited (naturally), since you are the one that extended these songs.

  • "Understand that there is no point in living! Cry, that there is no answer!"

  • Awesome can't wait till I get persona 2 psp and fight this guy

  • @TheShadowrunner98 Nyarlathotep is the final boss of Eternal Punishment. Innocent Sin has a different battle, same music.

  • @infinityofgenesis "The Great Father" final battle of innocent sin is also a form of Nyarlathotep, you known?

  • @TraumaTeam4ever Is that so? I just knew what I saw. i didn't want to spoil to much before I play the game.

  • @TraumaTeam4ever It looks waaaaaaay more disturbing

  • Nyx Avatar's is better. =|

  • @samuspoonschief if you mean the music then i agree, but as an villain, Nyarlathotep way better, nyx destroy the world because human wished for it, but Nyarlathotep destroy the world for nothing but to upset your party

  • @TraumaTeam4ever Yeah I meant music. Never played P2.

  • @TraumaTeam4ever Indeed. Nyx is not the incarnation of death. Nyx is the incarnation of suicidal emo dickery.

Since when do average humans want to die? I sure don't.

  • @DGneoseeker1 do you know that poor people is about 3/4 of the world population? such a guy like you sure don't understand how they feel

  • @TraumaTeam4ever If they truly wanted to be dead, then would they not have committed suicide by now?

Based on this I say that by existing on the planet, people prove they don't want to be dead.

Barring a few exceptions who might be paralysed and unable to self-terminate.

  • Looks kind of like Father's true form from Fullmetal Alchemist... Awesome music, though...

  • THE GRAT OLD ONES DEMAND MORE APPERANCES OF THEM IN FUTURE SHIN MEGAMI TENSEI GAMES ROAR.Please?

  • @myrio007 Well, here's something interesting that I just recently found out. Revelations: Persona wasn't Nyarlathotep's debut into the SMT series. Shin Megami Tensei 2 was. He was a regular battle demon though (if I remember correctly). But other than that, the only other outer god that was in an SMT game was Shub Niggurath and she was in Persona 2: Eternal Punishment if I remember correctly otherwise, Cthulhu, Hastur, Byakhee, Nodens, and Shoggoth were in the persona games too

  • @WeaponXSigma

Yep, that's true, but why they stoped placing world's favourite tentacle monsters in newer Shin Megami Tensei games is beyond me.

  • @myrio007 Copyright issues probably.

  • @WeaponXSigma Fun Fact: Nyarlathotep's nickname is "The Crawling Chaos", yet in SMT II he is, IIRC, a Lawful daemon rather then a Chaotic one. He also looks nothing like his Persona 2 incarnation, which would be the video image. Rather, he looks like a dark, featureless humanoid with bat wings and a 'pointy' crown, again IIRC

  • @TheShadowofX Yep, thats exactly how he looked in SMT II however him being a lawful demon in SMT II is beyond ironic considering who he is. His look in SMT II is a hybridization of a few of his avatars is I remember correctly

  • i think the song for the final boss of innocent sin is different...

im not sure i think there was a woman singing or maybe its my bad memory..

  • The beast is unleashed.

  • The Crawling Chaos. For some reason, if he ever had a theme - this was what I would have expected it to be like. Chaotic, menacing and very edgy.

Nyarhlatotep is a GREAT villain and evil entity, in both the games and in Lovecraft's literature. Really serves as a great final battle theme against the ultimate mindfuck. (What? He is D:)

  • This song is awesome......it's creepy and epic.......WHAT TO CHOOSE

  • Wow!

I played both Persona 2 games and there are so fuckin awesome!!!!!!!

This song gives you really the feeling that your are going to fight an epic final battle that you will remember for the rest of your life!

  • for me it goes like this:

from not so great (4) to best (1) of the series final boss theme´s

    1) P3

    2) P2

    3) P1

    4) P4

  • @TheDeg5555 P4's final boss theme has a slow buildup, but it's amazing towards the end.

  • @RPGMusicStudios Especially the remix of Reach Out To The Truth at the end. Just makes you feel like there's hope.

  • @TheDeg5555 how dare you!, P4 deserves more respect then that =P

but i never played the other two persona's. soooo what do i know =P

  • DIE, WITH MY HIGHEST PRAISE!

  • This is the few Final boss songs that shout the name of it...

  • i knew this thing Great Father

  • Awesome picture. Did you draw it?

  • @shadowclock12 That's official artwork.

  • If I remember right the final boss for IS was called Great Father (why he called himself that is revealed when you fight the guy...and he is a total ass to beat, five turns isn't fair).

  • @Shu512 Personas that reflect magic are just as cheap so it all woks out in the end.

  • He's a shit when fight him on hitler (the persona) and an asshole when fight him as Final boss in IS (5 Bosses and Worth damage, be careful when underleveled)

But he'a amazingly easy in EP (even if i choose all wrong answer, he's still easy)

  • Nyar-la-tho-tep- tu-tu-tu-tu-tan-tan-tan-tu.... Ah I love this boss!

  • @alexxxhunt NEYE ARE LATH OTEP

  • While technically the final boss of -both- games is Nyarlathotep, the final boss monster of Persona 2: Innocent Sin (otherwise known as Tsumi) is "Great Father," which is Nyarly dressing up as a disturbing conglomeration of the main party's daddy issues, and it uses this battle theme. Persona 2: Eternal Punishment(Batsu)'s final boss theme is something else, though: a remix of this theme called "EX Final Battle."

  • @Nevareh And maybe I'm just stupid and unable to remember anything! I'm wrong about the different end theme. The EX Final Battle theme is for Philemon in the EX dungeon, which I ought to have remembered! Forgive me!

  • Three word: Awwww we're screwed

  • I love how in every game they mix up the music style like in persona 4 its pretty much more calming songs

  • I'm sorry for my third comment on this one video, but I have to do it.

Why would anyone in their right minds take the time to memorize this guy's name?

or what his actual role is from where the character originated?

All the lovecraft or whatever I know is Cthulu, and I've got a window up to remind me how to spell THAT.

  • @RuneKnightTristan And spelled it wrong anyways. Cthulhu*

  • sonds kinda like a real final boss theme beating the crap out of a really freaky little kid's show from hell in the beginning.

  • This song is so epic. It's disturbing but at the same time it seems like your fighting to save the world.

  • @TheMasterNull I wanted to fight Hyarla and Cthulhu together :( Cthulhu for president...

  • no es nyarlathotep y esta una epica batalla

  • n o es nyarlathotep

  • arakune from blazblue right there

  • This is awesome ^_^

One can picture the epicness this video provides

    Great work lunar 5/5

  • This game had a lovecraft deity for a boss? Awsome. I may have to play it.

  • @Zellig Whats even better is that its the 3rd strongest outer god and yes despite his very low status among the outer gods, he's stronger than all of them except for yog sothoth and azathoth if I remember correctly.

  • @WeaponXSigma And he's the only one who takes an active role in the world's going-ons (the others don't really step in much). P2 mirrors this cuz he appears as multiple humans and manipulates the games' events while Philemon (who is NOT from lovecraft) can't play an active role.

  • Innocent Sin's final boss, is also Nyar, but in another form, called Great Father.

Believe me he is as hard, if not harder to beat than Philemon

  • so thats the theme for the final boss who's name i can never type nor pronounce XD

the picture reminds me of the shadows in the ps2 persona games with the masks =]

  • @TheFenrir666 I belive that (p3 and the like) got the idea

as in "hey this guy's masks were pretty effing scary, let's put them on the radom encounter enemies!"

  • @RuneKnightTristan I believe you hit the nail on the head there XD

it is a good idea in my opinion

    =]
