President Obama did produce a birth certificate - he put it up on his website, let Factcheck take pictures, and according to Hawaiian law (Hawaii Rev. Statute §338-13) the "short form" is the same as the original. The "short form" also meets national standards for a birth certificate, and is prima facie evidence of place of birth and citizenship in a court of law. Also under Hawaiian law, the "short form" is the only thing issued by Hawaii anymore.

All you need to show is that you were born in the U.S., and all you need to show that is a birth certificate - which the COLB is.

The Constitution does not require that "WE THE PEOPLE" provide proof of Constitutional eligibility of our representatives. It does however outline the requirements of eligibility for those representatives. READ THE CONSTITUTION and amendments, and you will understand.

I actually read the EO, not "google it". It amended the PRA BACK TO WHERE IT WAS before Bush amended it to LIMIT public access. Why do you not understand simple English? The fact that the PRA existed prior to Obama being elected was part of my point - his EO was not some nefarious conspiracy to hide his PERSONAL records. Get that through your thick head. And that Executive Order has nothing to do with his birth certificate, his college records or any of his personal records. It has to do with Presidential records - e.g. records created during discussions and advice with his Cabinet as President - hence the name Presidential Records Act. The PRA was passed in 1978, and Presidents going back to Reagan have amended the PRA. In fact, Bush signed EO 13233 that LIMITED public access to records, and Obama's EO revoked that, go research. He said that asking a question or making a joke is not the same as being a birther. President Obama would have no problem providing documents, as he has already provided his birth certificate. By the way, no other President has been asked to provide such documents in such a manner, and he is the only one to provide his birth certificate to the public. President Obama did produce a birth certificate - he put it up on his website, let Factcheck take pictures, and according to Hawaiian law (Hawaii Rev. Statute §338-13) the "short form" is the same as the original. The "short form" also meets national standards for a birth certificate, and is prima facie evidence of place of birth and citizenship in a court of law. Also under Hawaiian law, the "short form" is the only thing issued by Hawaii anymore.

Hi Technicschic. In response to claims his middle name was Mohammed, Obama made his BC available at his campaign HQ in Chicago, for anyone to check out. Only Fact Check did so, and that's where their pictures are from. Someone on the Politijab forum offered to PAY for Phil Berg (early 'born in Kenya' Birther) to go to Chicago and inspect it, and he never took them up on it. All the leading birthers are either conspiracy theorists or in it for the money, is my view.

bigc - under U.S. v. Wong Kim Ark, 169 U.S. 649 (1898), a natural born citizen is someone who is born in the U.S. There is no constitutional requirement to provide a "long form". The Hawaiian statutes do not violate the Constitution, and in fact, as I stated earlier, the Hawaiian Certificates of Live Birth meet the national standards for a birth certificate. All you need to show is that you were born in the U.S., and all you need to show that is a birth certificate - which the COLB is.

The Constitution does not require that "WE THE PEOPLE" provide proof of Constitutional eligibility of our representatives. It does however outline the requirements of eligibility for those representatives. READ THE CONSTITUTION and amendments, and you will understand.
