The LanLan 3x3 would make an awesome beginner cube. It's $2 from 51morefun(dot)com, turns and corner cuts pretty well and is tensionable. It's every bit as solid as a Rubik's brand, and if you actually manage to break it somehow, who cares because it was only $2.

i had my rubiks 4x4 for a long while, cubed with it every day. but it's toooo lose it pops even turning one layer slightly. so i got a new one, the shenshou 4x4, i think it's awesome but sometimes the internal mechanism lockes is some wierd way it pushes a center cube twisted and up. ye, it's not a speed cube, but it's beter way better then the rubiks 4x4. it has a spring 5x5 mechanism inside :)

hey thanks for the review i lost my rubiks brand cube i was looking to buy anoother one. i ended up getting a white diy cube 4 you cube and i hope its good. this kinda comfrimed my thoughts on how good they are. i woud say i am a little above average cuber my average solve on a 3x3 is a minute so yeah. i also have a vcube 5 on the way so thanks for the commentws on those.

I just moved on from my storebought, and bought a Ghost Hand II 3x3... The Ghost Hand is really nice and turns amazing, but I miss the heaviness of the storebought. Botch cut corners about the same, but the Ghost Hand is white, which I prefer... And now that I've learned 4LLL, my times were like sub 30, but since I started learning F2L, my times are going into the 40s...

By the way, about the Rubik's Studio Cubes... Rubik's Studio is a company that was formed in the early 2000's by Erno Rubik, and they make reproduction cubes. Believe it or not, Ideal DID in fact make the original cubes, but throughout the production cycle, they did make small changes from time to time. By looking at yours, it looks like yours is from 1980/1. But, either way, it IS an Ideal cube, albeit an early one, which describes the quality aspect :)

You're completely missing the point. I'm not emphasizing the roman numerals, but rather the letter. Type II/2 is completely ambiguous. There is the A-II (old and new), C-II, F-II, D-II, etc. If you are referring to the Type A series cubes, please, call them Type A-#, not Type #.

@fiveawesomecubers Yeah, the type F-II is amazing! I've had mine for about 5 months now, and it moves as good as it did when I unboxed it! No joke! I've never had a better cube than it. Oh, and surprisingly, it's NEVER popped on me. Maybe once, but I honestly can't remember. But, definitely go for a type f-II. It's been my main cube for a long time.
