  • I thought Mark was a dummy till he moved...

  • You can start with a button...? No kicking?

  • I don't give a flying fuck if you're Mormon, just keep the shit to yourself. Why the fuck would you promote a religion anyways?

  • i dont even gonna start commenting something serious here or i could not stop myself and keep on commenting on those videos :(

  • Movement of left leg when changing gear is pretty much horrible to watch....

  • ive tried with 125cc Orion and thats pretty fast... its easy to shift even known im driven some times before that

  • so is it possible to shift into 3rd when going from 1st to 2nd? Or does it go into 2nd automatically as soon as you up shift?

  • @yourleftnut1 as soon as you pull up it will only pull once until you pull the clutch in again

  • Well if u watch this and you should forget to release your gass while pulling the clutch you mind find out its wrong sooner or later by like your engine explodes or smoking alot and all that cind of stuff :P

  • some say you should use a clutch when shifting up while other says you dont need it"?" can someone tell to me what's really true?^^

  • so does the engine stop when i press the clutch and release it very fast ??

  • @rainofthepast

You drive 2-4meters forward very fast and the it stop :D

  • @rainofthepast nothing stops when u do that

  • @LBundyy, So its like driving a manual car?

Go to 1st gear and go. Then when engine needs to go to 2nd gear, let go of the gas and go to 2nd gear and gas again.. Etc etc...

    Correct?

  • love the vid. Thanks!!

  • well demonstrated but no action through hihgway ^_^

  • @nickisamazing1 That's bullshit.

  • @nickisamazing1 that can be an expansive joke (from my experience)

  • Very well demonstrated.

    Thanks

  • a so thats how its done

  • I love your videos you have helped me so much. Just by watching your videos I was able to ride my first time very easily

  • What bike is this?

  • ha ha u said buttons

  • on what gear should it be on street speed? and for you speeders i mean legal speed lol thanks

  • i belive its 2nd id have to check but im pretty sure

  • thanks

  • Cruising on city streets - 2nd highest gear, ie 4th or 5th depending on the number of gears. It seems deathlook does not ride so I would take his advice.

  • somewhat helpful. i think the reason why he gets his foot up is to let us (the viewers) get a good view of the other guy is teaching.

  • Yes, but its bor people to get a clear idea

  • lol !!!!

I've never seen changing gears like this before!

he gets his leg up in the air!

  • Good basics video. Lifting your foot to change gears is not easy at high speeds and can be dangerous. Keep the heel on the foot peg and use front upper part of foot to shift up.

  • do you need to let the clutch smoothly always? if u want to stop from 5th gear do u need to the 1st gear or neutral gear?

  • if u let the clutch off fast your RPM's will go crazy and youll put alot of torqe on your back tire causing a wheely.

  • you can ride the clutch on a bike, just hold it in and stop, if you want to stop and let out the clutch, then put it in neutral

  • going from a stand still to 1st gear u should ALWAYS let the clutch out smoothly

after that u can off the throttle, pull in, shift, let out instantly, on throttle again while accelerating

while decelerating its best to let it out slowly and match the revs otherwise ur rear wheel may lock up from the stress on the drivetrain from shifting to a lower gear

  • not helpful they missed lot of facts

  • can I shift up gears with out clutch ?

  • if u do u die

  • its true i tried it....

    now im dead...

  • Yes, you can, if you work the revs right. You can go down too!! Its very easy, but not great for the gearbox. Anyone who says it is dangerous is clearly not good at it.

  • nice combat boots

  • Some of us are watching this to learn how to ride a bike. Sometimes its helpful to get different perspectives on how to ride. Ie. some people are afraid of leaning, and etc.

  • you should turn it of with the kill switch your a bad example +rookies

  • thats what this videos for. if you dont know how to write a good comment... dont type one in!

  • You out your balls on the shift peg???

  • They lie. Its painful dont try it

  • I didn't see the neutral light.. But I get the point. A bit different from my old dirtbike which didn't have a clutch.

  • u never trun a bike of with the Kill switch

  • Uh ya you do.

  • common ppl use common sense. of course you have to mess with the gas

  • twist it.......

  • do we apply gas once we push the clutch all the way in .. or once the clutch is a lil let go then apply gas ??

  • Let the clutch out slightly then apply gas, when you let go of the clutch, you should find the bite (otherwise known as the friction zone), in other words, how far you let the clutch out before the bike starts rolling, when the bike begins to roll you apply gas in order to move off. Hope that helped :)

  • very helpful for beginners

  • is it the same for a dirt bike???

  • This is ok but mordeth13 video 'How to ride a motorcycle' is actually much better. They dont even mention letting the gas go as you shift in this clip which is some oversight!

  • @LemmmyLemmmy I noticed that too and I don't even ride yet. I was thinking "ok when is he supposed to let off the gas. "

  • @LemmmyLemmmy I AGREE SO MUCH this vid kinda sucks

  • @LemmmyLemmmy he fucking sucks

  • What bike is it??

  • Buell Blast

  • very very helpfull

    thank you

  • This is amazing and really well instructed.

  • 1: do you have to down shift everytime you come to a stop? Or can you just break in (say 3rd gear and release the break and stay in 3rd gear with out ever down shifting)

2:when you slow down in a high gear do you always have to down shift/upshift (say like when a car is slowing down infront of me do i have to down shift with the car?)

  • Yeah you have to downshift

  • I am thinking of getting a motorcycle licens but I just wanted to know a little about the shifting before doing it, how sensitive you needed to be on the clutch and such as with a manual car. This video explained it all to me, thanks!

  • no the clutch is a thing with discs that are squeezed together half are from the tranny others go to the small sprocet and in gear the trany ones spin but with the clutch in they arent rubbing eachother, n u needa take off smooth so u let out the clutch slow so they start gettin pressd together kinda like how disc brakes work and wiht the clutch out theyre super tight n wont slip, so ur totaly good to go and gun it

  • so the clutch is basically the break?

  • no it is not it is to switch gears

  • on a bike do u need the clutch for 2-6?

  • no but its reccomended, u wear out ur gears faster if u dont use

  • you dont need to use cluch for going up, but you definetly need to going down

  • for a sportbike u have to push down to shift up

  • Don't forget to rev the bike to 10,000rpm before letting out the clutch...

  • Yes deffinatly most people forget to do this first time riding!

  • i won't forget that, thanks

  • Comment removed

  • i thought that was just on full blown racing bikes, like motogp

  • Thank you for a very good intro video for novice riders.

  • What do you do when you're stopped at red light and it turns green? Do you have to keep holding the clutch and then release when it's green?

  • If you're stopped, you should be well ahead of the green and already in neutral/1st. If you're in neutral, you can simply let go of the clutch. When the light is about to turn green, you can squeeze the clutch and click into 1st gear to prepare for the launch again.

  • you would kill it....

  • very good

  • i thouhgt u had 2 let go of the gas 2

  • yea you do when your shifting

  • Good job!

  • This a great video very helpful thank you!

  • cool
