He killed one of the worst and most Imperialistic Presidents in the History of the US.

A man who had the army invade The Philippines. Free them from Spanish rule and then make the place a American Colony instead. The US did that a lot in those days, most of the time they just overthrew the local government in a country and replaced it with a pro-USA puppet-government, Hawaii and The Philippines are the only places that became actual colonies like the ones the other Empires had.

Just like it is in modern times with Iraq and Afghanistan the excuse for this was that they were giving the people of these countries "Freedom" and were therefore not Imperialists.
