Relationships were different when this story is supposed to have happened. Cant really judge anyone based on current day standards or morality. Cleopatra, for example, was married to all her brothers, and that was perfectly ok by Egyptian morality of that day.

I am wondering if anyone has ever bothered to read the ORIGINAL King Arthur legend, like "Le Morte De Arthur" or Geoffrey of Monmouth. I find it very funny that people keep expressing shock over the fact that Arthur slept with his sister. (In the original story it was Morgause he slept with.) This legend is over a thousand years old, people. Doesn't anyone take literature courses anymore?

Geoffrey of Monmouth wasn' t the ORIGINAL legend. It was only the first redaction of the legend. Breton cicle was an oral tradiction composed by mixed versions of an ORIGINAL lost nucleus of the french ' chanson de geste' ( you who bubble about... ) You have to study I think before giving lessons to others.

The arthurian stories are literature not mythology. You could theorise that they have some older precedents but the majority of the stories see a supposedly celtic 'king of a tribal Britain' roaming around Norman Britain with a bunch of medieval knights. So the themes are contemporary with post norman britain not earlier.
