the evo is a good car but the eclipse is way better, just compared. the evo is a 2.0 L4 with turbo and have 286hp. the eclipse is 3.8 v6 with 263hp with the engine only. just put turbo or supercharger in the eclipse and now we see who wins.
no 07 and up eclipse will stand up to a modied evo even thou the eclipse can get the rip supercharger,headers, and the other bolt ons for like 6gs that can only manage up to 400whp of you lucky it........ dosent blow up...evos has had the same motor since it first came out due to the best motor ever released by mitsubishi the 4g63 enigne is the best engine over the sr20,rb20,2jz for boost since it can handle around 300whp easliy on stock internals

dude if you get a lancer it should be the evo because the new lancer gts is apparently very stiff and not a sporty drive, also the engine makes a lot of noise, but has no power. go for the new eclipse (good price, fun car, nice interior). personally, i find the transmission is up to you. i prefer auto because my evo X shifts gears better than i do. most new sport cars shift better than a driver ever would.
@drdouche1 i saw a 1997 GSX that pushed 1004whp, i think it could smoke ANY mitsubishi lol i love the eclipse's my dream car is a 2007 mitsubishi eclipse GT supercharged, i drove one ONCE and was SOLD
obviously an EVO will always beat an eclipse... unless EVO is 100% stock with Eclipse having a LOT of after marker mods, even then it would be close..

they are mid to low 14's.. its who ever was drivin it..... one of the shittiest launches ive ever seen.. the evo just destroyed it off the line with the 2-step
